I haven't quite got the fine points down, like...when, or where... It just kinda kicks in whenever it wants to.

The Emblem of the Unbirth

Details

The Unbirth (アンバース Anbāsu) are the main enemies of the upcoming game Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, and as such, very little is known about them at this time. However, series creator Tetsuya Nomura has made a few facts known via interview.

1) The Unbirth possess some sort of connection to the Heartless and the Nobodies of the main series.

2) They are, in essence, "the opposite of human life."

Bosses

Although few scans have appeared and no specific enemy names are known, there is one case that is quite the opposite. A boss known as the Wheel Master is known to exist. The Wheel Master is a boss located in Enchanted Dominion.

Appearance

Several types of Unbirth have been shown in scans, including a small, skinny creature, blue in color, and a large creature also colored blue. They all seem to feature odd red eyes and large, zig-zagging antennae/ears. There are flower-like Unbirths that look like a potted flowers with vines for arms that seems to spin like a top and pot-like Unbirths that are simply red pots with bat wings. Also, there are raven-like Unbirths and Unbirths that are reminiscent to boots. A rabbit-like Unbirth is also shown, with long floppy ears and tiny, stubby legs.

Speculation

The population of the Unbirths, so far seen in Birth By Sleep, is most likely not as high as Heartless or Nobodies were in the current-timeline of Kingdom Hearts, given how many have been seen to date. It should be noted that Nobodies were around for the time of Kingdom Hearts, but they did not show up until Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and more prominently in Kingdom Hearts II A popular theory for Unbirths is that they are the failed re-incarnation of dead or dying people. Another is that they are the beings of Light, although this is highly unlikely, given that normal human beings, and the Princesses of Heart, are the beings of Light in the Kingdom Hearts universe. Other beleive that, as described in Kingdom Hearts II, a person consists of a heart, a body, and a soul. The heart can be corrupted an turned into a heartless, and the body and soul become a Nobody. Therefore, Unbirths might just be the soul of someone who turned to darkness, or all three components, distorted by the darkness.
