Master Terra?

Just because Master Xehanort called Terra a "Master" doesn't make him one, Terra would have to undergo another Mark of Mastery before any master could give him the tittle of Master. LightoftheDarkness 01:06, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Terra is actually a master of the keyblade he was only denied the title of a Master because Eraqus feared the dakness in his heart.Xehanort used the power of darkness during his time as a keyblade wielder and he was given the title of master.Terra doesn't have the title because of Eraqus prejuiced.The Dark Master 20:33, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

Because Sora is one of your favorite characters, was it difficult for you to put him in this position or choice due to KINGDOM HEARTS III? And with Kairi, will she and Sora ever achieve the Mark of Mastery? Nomura : I thought a lot about whether Sora was to become Keyblade Master or not. But because I always wanted Sora to relate to the players, if he became Master, it would have meant he would have really reached a very high level and it is not yet ready for it, and we do not want that to happen. The decision to not make Sora a Keyblade Master was not really difficult, but I thought it was better that he remains an ordinary boy to be closer to the players.

ShadowsTwilight - He's leaving you behind, and when you catch up, he'll be a different person TALK - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What evidence is there that the symbol warn by Eraqus, Terra, Aqua, and Ventus is the Keyblade Master symbol? Xehanort, Mickey, and Yen Sid are not seen wearing it, Terra and Ventus wear it besides not being Masters, and Aqua wore it before becoming a Master. If anything, I would see it as Being Eraqus's symbol, seeing as only he and his pupils are seen wearing it, it is the token on his Keyblade's Keychain, and Ventus didn't wear it until becoming his apprentice.

Since Xehanort struck out on his own, he could have simply elected to not wear it after becoming a Master. Because Yen Sid "doffed" the mantle of Master he could choose not to wear it as well. Mickey being his apprentice wouldn't wear it either. It's also possible that the Mark of Mastery is a mark exclusive to the Land of Departure and its masters and apprentices.

Successor

The Xehanort's Report mentions the "Successor" term in his letter and in VIII. So from this, is the Successor the person in change of Land of Departure, making Aqua the current Successor? TheFifteenthMember 21:27, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

Yes, if I recall correctly, that's correct. Yen Sid and Xehanort went their separate ways, and the one who remained in the LoD would be tasked with guarding it. Aqua could have had the choice to go her own way or become Successor, but technically, she's done both. LoD fell to darkness before she could bring back Ventus and resume her task of guarding it, which meant her task of Successor involved changing the world to what she wanted it to be, and in her case, it would be to keep Ven safe. This may be a weird question, but do we know for sure that the Master of Masters can wield a Keyblade? He's never seen using one, except when he gives Luxu his Keyblade, and his journal entry doesn't mention it either. TheSilentHero 18:32, 3 February 2017 (UTC)

The quote was placed in the code for the No Name (xehanort) at one point, but basically -- the Master explicitly created Keyblades based on the X-blade, we're just not 100% confirmed which ones he wield. With the retcon taking us back from "everyone can wield Keyblades" to the KH1-style "there's a chosen lineage", my money's on him having attuned with the X-blade itself, at least temporarily."We're werewolves, not swearwolves."   • --Secret Report: Zexion-- Marluxia has succeeded in leading the Keyblade master to the castle. I sense multiple threads at work, but details on each of the projects are scarce. I suspect some alleged Organization projects are secretly private machinations. Marluxia seems especially suspect.
  • --Secret Report: Axel-- The longer you know someone, the less you need to speak in clear terms. Everything gets across with a wink and a nudge, a little reading between the lines... When it comes to what befell our late comrades at Castle Oblivion, ambiguity suits me just fine. But the Keyblade master and Roxas come out and say every little thing that comes to mind. Maybe that's human, or maybe they're just special.
  • --Secret Report: Axel-- Xion regained her ability to wield the Keyblade. I don't know how or why. Maybe there's more to the Keyblade master they're not telling me about. It is imperative we keep Xion from having undue contact with Roxas until we are certain it will perform as expected--which will take another 10 days, if Vexen's convictions are to be trusted. As for the Keyblade master, Marluxia will no doubt be keeping an eye on him.
  • Day 28 - Axel I've uncovered most of what I need to know about the Replica Program, but where's the other one? I can't find any trace of it. ...Vexen was caught in the middle. Pitiable, but unavoidable. I could not risk his Program falling into their hands. Of greater concern are the traitors. Not the obvious turncoats, but the ones who will get in his and my way. The Keyblade master is not our enemy.
  • Day 52 - Axel I've lost track of the Keyblade master and the other intruders. I'm the only one left in the castle. Everybody else has been destroyed. My orders were to end the traitors, but I think by this point, I fit that bill better than anybody. There's one last thing I need to look into while I'm here.

We must move our agenda ahead with that firmly in mind.

However, the time has come for you to let go of preconceived notions, forget what you know about the Keyblade, and begin your training again with a clean slate.

I will return you to the Destiny Islands just before they were swallowed by the darkness and plunged into sleep. Once dreams take you, you must let them guide you to the Sleeping Worlds. As there are seven pure lights, there are seven "Sleeping Keyholes." Unlocking these will both grant you new powers, and free the worlds from their wakelessness. Complete this task, and return here safely, and I will name you both...true masters.
  • Yen Sid: You must understand, this examination is in no way how the Mark of Mastery is usually found. However, in light of what they must do next...it was a necessity. If Sora and Riku complete their test, by finding the seven doors corresponding to the seven pure lights, they will return home with a new power. At that point, they will both be true masters. However, the dangers make this more trial than test.

This experience has revealed many hidden truths, and we must gird ourselves for the great clash with darkness that lies before us. I believe we need a new Keyblade Master, one with a new kind of power. Sora and Riku, you both deserve the honor. • • [Keyblade Masters] Guardians of the balance between light and darkness. Through the "Bequeathing," they choose the next generation of Keyblade wielders, training their bodies and tempering their hearts so that they, too, might one day be Keyblade Masters. While the word "master" might be tossed around, only an existing Keyblade Master can pass on the title and its associated powers. They often elect to test candidates for the Mark of Mastery. Among the Keyblade Masters is one true "Successor" who is tasked with protecting a hallowed ground known as the Land of Departure.
  • Sora would require great power to rescue the individuals King Mickey mentioned in his letter and wake them from their sleep, so he agreed to take the Mark of Mastery examination.
