A Lightning Crystal, the rarest of the Lightning materials
Lightning (とどろく Todoroku, lit. "Thundering"), also translated as "Thunder" in Kingdom Hearts, is a material type available in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. Lightning materials contain the essence of thunder, and are colored yellow.

- Thunder Shard: Yellow Opera (8%), White Mushroom (100%)[1], Bambi (40%/60%)[2]
- Thunder Gem: Aquatank (8%), Screwdiver (4%), White Mushroom (10%/40%)[3], Bambi (30%)[4]
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix introduced the Lightning Stone, dropped only by the Black Ballade.

- Lightning Shard[5]: Bolt Tower (10%), Rapid Thruster (4%)
- Lightning Stone[6]: Driller Mole (6%), Emerald Blues (10%)

- ^ At Deep Jungle, Bambi drops a Thunder Shard 40% of the time the second time his gauge is filled, and 60% of the time the third time his gauge is filled.
- ^ The White Mushroom drops a Thunder Gem 10% of the time if a Thunder spell is the last of three different spells cast on it, and 40% of the time if all three are a Thunder spell.
