The Red Armor is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts, but is unnamed until Kingdom Hearts Final Mix. It appears in the Olympus Coliseum matches.

The various pieces of the Red Armor, known as "Armored Torso", "Gauntlets", and "Hammerlegs", are able to move independently, and even appear as separate enemies in the Coliseum matches.

Story

Kingdom Hearts

The various pieces of a Red Armor appear throughout the Phil Cup, and a final Red Armor appears in the Hades Cup. In the original version of Kingdom Hearts, these Heartless were simply named Guard Armor.

Design

The Red Armor's body is divided into several pieces—a body, a head, two arms, and two legs—none of which are directly connected to each other and all of which can act independently of the other. The Armored Torso is vaguely hour glass-shaped, magenta with a light grey, diamond pattern around its waist, and has dark pink additives on it. The Heartless emblem is emblazoned on the center of the armor. Its head is magenta, spherical, and sports one silver spikes, two red ones, and a silver faceplate with several holes in it. Both of the Gauntlets are magenta with wide wrists and three silver, segmented fingers. The Hammerlegs are short, magenta, and ends in large, hammer-like, black feet. All of the pieces of the Red Armor seem to be hollow.

The Red Armor's name clearly references its reddish coloration and its armored body.

Strategy

Attacks
  • Spinning Claw: The Red Armor's gauntlets spin around trying to hit players.
  • Stomp: The Hammerlegs stomp around to hit players.
  • Tornado: The Armored Torso spins around at high speed.
  • Smash: The Red Armor jumps into the air and body slams players.

The Red Armor is nearly identical to the Guard Armor from Traverse Town. At first, it's a whole body, and you should really just try and avoid it. Dodge the attacks and attack it when it's not doing anything if you must. When it separates, attack the feet by jumping when they're stomping about and then attacking when they aren't doing anything. Once those are out of the way, it will have reformed a couple times by now, so each appendage should have a little bit of damage knocked off.

When the arms are taken care of, the chest will begin to fire large balls of light at you, which do a good bit of damage. You can either dodge (which takes skill) or block. Either way, you need to attack as much as you can in between its attacks. Follow this relatively simple strategy, and the battle shouldn't be too bad.
