This article is about the spell. You may be looking for the element. |
Fire (ファイア Faia ), Fira (ファイラ Faira ), and Firaga (ファイガ Faiga , lit. "Figa") magic are spells that appear in Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts coded. They utilize the element of fire and are associated with the Blazing material. In all of its appearances, Fire unleashes flames to incinerate foes, however, the specific execution of the spell differ between games. It is the first spell introduced in the series.
Mechanics
Kingdom Hearts
In Kingdom Hearts, the Fire spell launches a single fireball with slight homing properties from the tip of the Keyblade at the cost of one Charge Gauge unit. Owing to the potential wideness of its arc, the Fire spell is of somewhat limited usefulness when used at long range. It can only damage one enemy per use.
The summon Genie has access to any magic Sora has already learned, including the Fire spell.

Kingdom Hearts II
In Kingdom Hearts II, the Fire spell creates a ring of flame that surrounds the caster to inflict damage on nearby enemies. Sora cannot move while casting this spell unless a drive form is active. This spell is generally regarded as useful only before acquiring Reflect, which surpasses it in both offensive and defensive capacity. It is also useful for damaging numerous enemies that are gathered around Sora, a trait first given to the Thunder and Gravity spells in Kingdom Hearts. Its usefulness is greatest when a drive form is active, at which time Sora is able to move about while casting the spell, allowing him to damage a wide swath of enemies with it.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Fire magic is usable again in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, appearing alongside its upgraded forms as a magic panel. Unlike in other games, each tier of the spell has a unique effect. All three fire spells may ignite enemies, causing their health to drain continuously.
The basic Fire spell releases a homing fireball, which inflicts damage on a single enemy.
The second-tier Fira instead shoots a ball of fire that flies straight forwards and explodes on contact, breaking through the enemy's defense.
The third-tier Firaga launches a large ball of fire in an arch, with homing properties, which explodes upon making contact with the ground or a target.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Fire, Fira, and Firaga are available as magic commands, with similar effects as Fire magic in the original Kingdom Hearts, in that each shoots a fireball with homing properties.
In the Dwarf Woodlands, Fire magic may be used to boil water in order to bubbles that allow access to higher areas.
- Fire is a Basic Magic Command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level is 3, a reload time of 10 seconds, and fills the Command Gauge by 25%.
- Fira is a Basic Magic Command that takes up one slot in the Command Deck, has a maximum level is 3, a reload time of 10 seconds, and fills the Command Gauge by 30%.
