Legend has it that once, darkness covered the worlds, a crisis brought about by a destructive and mysterious Keyblade War. Keychains were broken, spells were fired in every direction, and the ground shook with every falling Keyblade Master's sinking of their lifeless key into the wasteland. The forces of light and darkness, once peaceful, turned upon each other in battle with many warriors, holding many keys, with power far too great for one world to hold. Forces so great clashed, the Castle of Dreams shook, and hearts were succumbing to both light and darkness with every passing moment. All of this destruction and loss had a purpose to these since fallen warriors: to create a mighty weapon that could rule all the worlds, the X-Blade. Just as the great World and Ocean Between was nearing its collapse under the pressure of the Keyblade War, all the warriors ceased, the weapons protruding from the hard ground, and their hearts lost to Kingdom Hearts. None were successful, and the relatively few survivors fled back to their worlds, speechless at what had just transpired.
However, darkness now threatens to consume the worlds again, as new forces seek the great power of the X-Blade. The old wounds have healed, and new warriors exist to claim this blade's great power--as do those who wish to oppose them. New warriors from across the realms of light, darkness, in-between, and nothingness have risen up to fight alongside the previous agents of destruction to claim what is rightfully theirs, or to stop the worlds from all falling into a void of chaos. Keyblade Masters have been training, princesses have been preparing, and witty comments have been exchanged, behind which lie fearful expressions of what may truly come out of this new brawl. The time has come for the battle of legend to be continued by a battle greater, larger, more destructive, and more epic than anything seen before on any world, by any Heartless, Nobody, Unversed, or Somebody eye. Perhaps even the old warriors shall find their power threatened by the new warriors of light and dark.
Editors, contributors, staffers, members, browsers, and visitors of the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, welcome to...
The Kingdom Hearts Wiki's The Keyblade War shall be a large-scale tournament, heavily influenced by similar tournaments at the Final Fantasy Wiki, taking place over two months to lead us into the new year. Similarly to the way that the wiki's Mirage Arena functions, two combatants shall face each other, and the winner shall be decided by voting, the loser being eliminated from the tournament. As of yet, the plan is for this tournament to include 128 characters from all over the series, all the way from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep to Kingdom Hearts coded. The characters have been chosen, and the list is being revised currently. As 128 shrinks down to sixty-four participants, then thirty-two, then sixteen, then eight, then four, and finally two, the heat shall rise as the wiki celebrates all of the fantastic characters created by Square-Enix, Disney, and Final Fantasy. Finally, as the new year begins, the winner of our tournament shall be crowned the greatest, most powerful, most ruling force across all of the Kingdom Hearts universe. It is not long, community of the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, until The Keyblade War begins. And this time, both light and darkness have a chance at ruling it all....
Voting shall begin on Friday, October 15.
