Fearless Gear+ ③ (Xigbar) |
Armstrong is one of Xigbar's weapons in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to Armstrong+.
Design
Armstrong's guard is nearly identical to that of the Sharpshooter, save for black diamonds with a tan edge and a red guard. The body consists of an X, formed from four objects resembling the guard on Lexaeus's Skysplitter. Each are black with red outlines, save for the one at the back, which has a pawn-like shape and is white with a red outline. Connecting each piece is a seemingly circular ring, colored like the other pieces, but with concave and convex segments. The dark grey barrel, when compared to Xigbar's other Arrowguns, is quite large, as it tapers in for three quarters and flares out for the fourth.
Armstrong is an enemy in Final Fantasy IX and a boss in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
Gameplay
Unlike most of Xigbar's Arrowgun, the Armstrong and Armstrong+ are only fired in their combined rifle form. The ground combo consists of Xigbar combining his guns and firing a single, powerful shot straight forward. The alternate combo cancels the shot, with Xigbar fipping backwards, separating his guns. It can be activated before the shot is fired.
The aerial combo consists of Xigbar standing upside-down in the air, combining his guns, and firing a single rifle shot straight beneath him. The alternate combo cancels the shot, with Xigbar dropping to the ground rightside-up. It can be activated before the shot is fired.
