Dodge Roll is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts. It allows the user to dodge attacks with a forward roll, during which they are invulnerable to enemy attacks. Leveling up increases the distance covered by the roll.
Mechanics[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts, Dodge Roll is a combat ability used by Sora. It is executed by pressing and pushing in any direction, though can be tapped without a direction if Guard is not equipped. It costs 1 AP to equip.
In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Dodge Roll is an innate movement ability that is executed by double-tapping the control pad in a direction during battle. In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, it is executed by pressing and can also be used outside of battle. When used on the platform created by the Gimmick Card during the battle against Maleficent (Dragon), Dodge Roll has Sora perform a dash along with the platform.
In Kingdom Hearts II, Dodge Roll[1] is a Reaction Command.
In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Dodge Roll is also a growth ability that costs 3 AP to equip. It allows Sora to perform a combat roll by pressing . Leveling it up increases the distance of the roll.
