| ===Cover===
| | I think that we should cut our 13 page issue down into something like 7 pages, removing all the boring, useless bits that no one seems to like contributing. Maybe making what needs to go in the magazine more flexible so for example, if no one does an interview, it's fine because someone else did a Top 5 for that page. |

| ===Mark of Mastery Exam===
| | Honestly I agree with FM on reducing both. Lower amount of content means that we don't have to force ourselves into filling in what was left out but we all still have the pressure of coming up with the rest of the stuff on time, which I believe was the main issue we encountered. If we only lower the amount of issues we'll probably end up having the same content left out in need of someone to fill in regardless of how many time we have to do them. |

| ==Discussion==
| |
| Would it be possible to get like, a big team of contributors -- not necessarily regulars, but those who can at least commit to one particular issue? If we have enough of these types of contributions each month, we may perhaps be able to revive the Magazine. Thoughts? <font color="dodgerblue">Trois</font><font color="darkslateblue">nyx</font> 07:15, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
| |
| :That's the point of the sign up sheet and what makes the magazine fun. People sign up to a few tasks each (often changing tasks each issue) and then we see the collaboration in the end result. Contributors don't have to be regulars but they do need to meet the basic requirement. Also, the magazine never died; in fact, I think it's still going on strong!
| |
| :The essential thing is people post their stuff early. Last time, we had a day left to release and half the magazine empty. Therefore, I stress to everyone that you must email your work at least a week early. Ideally, as early as you can make it, whether that be two weeks or two months before, but we can't expect that from everyone which is why we compromise on at least a week in advance. 14:56, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
| |
| ::Why don't we lower the number of edits required to contribute? It may increase the amount of people working on the magazine. 16:47, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
| |
| :::That might be a good idea. 17:32, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
| |
| ::::Maybe we can encourage collaborations? There could be people out there with good ideas but think their work won't be in the same quality of the magazine and thus don't submit anything. It could even work between each other, like the word search two issues ago. FM and I worked on it together because he had the idea and I could manage the graphics part. 23:36, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
| |
| :::::I'm opposed to lowering the number of edits. Let's remember that the original purpose of the magazine (and MegaProject: Arise at that) was to increase traffic and activity for the wiki. The idea of the Chain of Rewards was new editors work hard and contribute to the wiki, and in return they gain the privilege of working on the magazine. We don't want to see contributors to the magazine that have no experience of the wiki and are not yet integrated into the community. We want them to first learn their way around the place and pick up some basic skills and then contribute. That was the point of ranking the magazine high on the Chain; it's a lot more demanding than voting for featured content. Besides, we have enough people working on the magazine, we just need them to submit their stuff earlier. Also, yes, collaboration is great (and more fun) ^_^ 18:44, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
| |
| Put it this way, folks: if you're adept enough to write for the magazine, you're adept enough to write for the mainspace. And at the end of the day, the whole point of the magazine is not to draw people away from the mainspace. QED. <font color="dodgerblue">Trois</font><font color="darkslateblue">nyx</font> 19:25, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
| |
| :I will be contributing more to the magazine issue following this one. My time is limited right now, so I'm unable to contribute in as large a way as I'd ideally like to. Regarding increasing the number of people contributing to the magazine, there are people that regularly edit both wikis who are competent enough to help out, but may be scared to do so. More encouragement is needed to stimulate editors to write. 19:05, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

| Hi folks, just a quick question... Is there a maximum word count for the Keyblade Master articles? When I write, I often have a tendency to write...a lot, so I want to be sure what length I'm aiming for before I really get stuck in. 12:49, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

|
| | |

Heard about the new magazine hosted on the KHWiki and the Keyhole and want to get involved? Here at the Journalist Spot, you can share ideas and help us work towards the release of our next issue.
How It Works[edit]
To begin with, you must be a registered user on both Wikis with a minimum of either 300 total edits at the KHWiki (check here) or 100 total edits at the Keyhole (check here).
Once you have that, you can sign-up to do any of the below but remember that it is your responsibility to complete anything you have signed up to at least a week before release. Fortunately, there's plenty of help along the way! Once you've signed up to something, you can share ideas about your topic below in the "Discussion" section. Then, other users will feedback and develop your ideas by giving their own thoughts and opinions so that you have enough inspiration to write your entire piece. If you are doing an interview, debate battle or podcast, work with your partner(s) at an off-Wiki location, such as the IRC or by email.
After you have a first draft, email it to "kingdomheartswikibcrat@gmail.com" so that the Editor in Chief can review your work, fix any mistakes and give you any advice that you might need. Please refrain from posting any drafts on the wiki to prevent ruining the surprise and satisfaction at the end result. Remember to update your status in the sign-up section and again, ensure that you email your work at least a week before release so that there is time to fix any potential issues.
The host for the Journalist Spot alternates every issue so you may need to visit The Keyhole if you want to get involved!
Submission Etiquettes[edit]
For the aid of the publisher, we now request everyone to observe the following etiquettes when you are submitting a piece of work:
- Coding
Insert all the relevant coding in your email, including all images, font colors, formatting and links. Also insert the relevant parameters of your piece. For example, this is an example of a perfect riddle submission:
|gridriddle1=Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
|gridriddle1answer=consectetur adipiscing elit
|gridriddle1author=Cicero
Two templates have been made to handle links: Template:KHWiki and Template:Keyhole. These works by using the following parameters (this uses the KHWiki template as an example but the Keyhole is the same):
LINK DESTINATION
Example:
Donald Duck
Never use basic links unless you know that both Wikis have the page that you're linking to!
Make sure all property names (e.g. "Kingdom Hearts") are in italics!
- Content
Allude to both Wikis as much as possible with links and mentions, unless your section is specific to one Wiki.
- Images
Check that any images you use are available on both wikis under the same name. If not, mention in your email what the different file names are. If your image needs to be uploaded, send it as an attachment so that the editor can upload it later.
- Due Date
It is vital that you submit your work before at least a week before the next issue is set to be released so that a) the publisher has time to add it into the rest of the magazine and b) there is time to fix any issues that there may be.

I agree with cutting down the content. I was thinking of making basically everything optional, so we can use what has been done and leave out the rest. I'm not sure if making it bi-monthly will help. If we halve the content we use, but double the amount of issues released, we may end up with the same problems.
Aside from that, the magazine is looking great!

Sorry, I meant halfly (twice a year). TheFifteenthMember 20:00, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- In that case, I think we should either reduce the content or the amount of issues, but not both. TheSilentHero 20:46, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

As far as I go, I can't really commit to being Editor in Chief anymore without both factors being reduced. I'd be happy to let someone else take the job and only drop one factor though.
Oh yeah, I forgot about how annoying that hover template is. I think we could change the KHWiki's Template:Hover to match the Keyhole, but someone'd have to fix the 50 or so pages that use it, if anyone wants to take up that job.

Sorry to bring this up again but I think we should at least come to a conclusion before the mag ends up being forgotten.
By lowering down both we can be way more flexible on the content that we put in and we can give more time to everyone to work on quality things rather than having to rush them (specially when most of us are in finals and all of that). Opinions?

TheFifteenthMember Yes. You're creepy. I can't say we'll miss you while you're gone, so it'd be best if you did go. We all win that way. — TheFifteenthMember 19:41, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Agreed with Draaek. We'd have to change the template to make everything optional and work out how to display sections if others are absent. A small issue is that if we start going twice a year now, the releases would always be in March and October, but it would make more sense for the magazine dates to lie on January (for the new year/end of year events) and July (hot off E3). That means we could either make an issue this July as usual then go with half yearly or just skip this issue, take a 9 month break and start the process in January. While the former is probably the preferable option, I (and most likely many others) will not be able to commit to the magazine so soon after the last one so unless there's someone willing to take the helm of Editor in Chief and there's enough people willing to write content, I'm afraid we might have to wait until January. Honestly, that might not actually be a bad thing because after a 9 month break, I'd be interested in seeing the good ideas that people will then come up with (although if KH3 release date gets announced this year, it'd be shame that we miss the issue).
