I think that we should cut our 13 page issue down into something like 7 pages, removing all the boring, useless bits that no one seems to like contributing. Maybe making what needs to go in the magazine more flexible so for example, if no one does an interview, it's fine because someone else did a Top 5 for that page.

Honestly I agree with FM on reducing both. Lower amount of content means that we don't have to force ourselves into filling in what was left out but we all still have the pressure of coming up with the rest of the stuff on time, which I believe was the main issue we encountered. If we only lower the amount of issues we'll probably end up having the same content left out in need of someone to fill in regardless of how many time we have to do them.

===General Discussion===
By lowering down both we can be way more flexible on the content that we put in and we can give more time to everyone to work on quality things rather than having to rush them (specially when most of us are in finals and all of that). Opinions?}}
Ok, first off, congratulations to everyone involved! We've published the second issue of the wiki's magazine! A huge thanks to FinalRest and Chainoffire for their incredible work in this last week, spending late nights to compile the whole thing for us. There are some things I'd like to point out for the next issue, and following issues, that I've learned in the last couple weeks. I would hope we'd implement them for this and upcoming issues, to make the process smoother as we continue this wonderful project.
*'''Coding''': I don't know if anyone else does this, but I submit my written pieces with the appropriate parameters for my pieces included. In addition, I add the links and font colors to make sure it still looks good. I think we should all do this; it helps Chain and FR a lot if they don't have to go and search which parameters our text goes under. In addition, however, and it's something I meant to do and then didn't, we should submit our pieces with the appropriate parameters and links so they can copy and paste our content to '''both''' wikis. What I mean is, when I submit it, I only submit a copy with links to KHWiki pages and KHWiki files. We should submit two copies of our work, one that functions in the ''Kingdom Hearts'' Wiki, and one that functions on The Keyhole.
*'''Timing''': Let's be honest, we literally waited till the last two weeks to get serious about Issue #2. Let's not do that. I don't mean we should be stressed about it right now, but let's not wait till December 18 to start, either. Perhaps we should begin the serious work starting November 1 or something. I think two months is good and smooth. In addition, while some pages, like Ansem's Report, the Door to Light, and Unlocking the Keyhole, have to wait 'till almost the submission date to cover everything, that those pages can't be worked on as the weeks go by. That way, by the time it's submission time, those pages are already mostly done, and little has to be adjusted to be current.
*'''Due date''': We had this for Issue #1, and we ought to implement it again for Chain, FR, and FM's sake. It should be about a week before the magazine's publishing date. Because this issue's release date is January 1, the due date would be December 25. So, I think it'd be better if for the January issue, we have a due date of December 18 and publishing date of either December 29, or sometime after January 1, for holiday purposes.

I think that's it, for now. Again, guys, this issue is just great, and I hope this changes are for the benefit of our work. {{KeybladeSpyMaster/Sig}} 18:08, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

{{TheFifteenthMember|time={{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 19:41, 18 May 2016 (UTC)|default=Agreed with Draaek. We'd have to change the template to make everything optional and work out how to display sections if others are absent. A small issue is that if we start going twice a year now, the releases would always be in March and October, but it would make more sense for the magazine dates to lie on January (for the new year/end of year events) and July (hot off E3). That means we could either make an issue this July as usual then go with half yearly or just skip this issue, take a 9 month break and start the process in January. While the former is probably the preferable option, I (and most likely many others) will not be able to commit to the magazine so soon after the last one so unless there's someone willing to take the helm of Editor in Chief and there's enough people willing to write content, I'm afraid we might have to wait until January. Honestly, that might not actually be a bad thing because after a 9 month break, I'd be interested in seeing the good ideas that people will then come up with (although if KH3 release date gets announced this year, it'd be shame that we miss the issue).}}

Heard about the new magazine hosted on the KHWiki and the Keyhole and want to get involved? Here at the Journalist Spot, you can share ideas and help us work towards the release of our next issue.

How It Works[edit]

To begin with, you must be a registered user on both Wikis with a minimum of either 300 total edits at the KHWiki (check here) or 100 total edits at the Keyhole (check here).

Once you have that, you can sign-up to do any of the below but remember that it is your responsibility to complete anything you have signed up to at least a week before release. Fortunately, there's plenty of help along the way! Once you've signed up to something, you can share ideas about your topic below in the "Discussion" section. Then, other users will feedback and develop your ideas by giving their own thoughts and opinions so that you have enough inspiration to write your entire piece. If you are doing an interview, debate battle or podcast, work with your partner(s) at an off-Wiki location, such as the IRC or by email.

After you have a first draft, email it to "kingdomheartswikibcrat@gmail.com" so that the Editor in Chief can review your work, fix any mistakes and give you any advice that you might need. Please refrain from posting any drafts on the wiki to prevent ruining the surprise and satisfaction at the end result. Remember to update your status in the sign-up section and again, ensure that you email your work at least a week before release so that there is time to fix any potential issues.

The host for the Journalist Spot alternates every issue so you may need to visit The Keyhole if you want to get involved!

Submission Etiquettes[edit]

For the aid of the publisher, we now request everyone to observe the following etiquettes when you are submitting a piece of work:

Coding

Insert all the relevant coding in your email, including all images, font colors, formatting and links. Also insert the relevant parameters of your piece. For example, this is an example of a perfect riddle submission:

|gridriddle1=Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
|gridriddle1answer=consectetur adipiscing elit
|gridriddle1author=Cicero

Two templates have been made to handle links: Template:KHWiki and Template:Keyhole. These works by using the following parameters (this uses the KHWiki template as an example but the Keyhole is the same):

{{KHWiki|LINK DESTINATION|DISPLAYED LINK (optional)|HEX CODE FOR FONT COLOR (optional)}}

Example:

{{KHWiki|Donald Duck|Donald|#00000}}

Never use basic [[ ]] links unless you know that both Wikis have the page that you're linking to!

Make sure all property names (e.g. "Kingdom Hearts") are in italics!

Content

Allude to both Wikis as much as possible with links and mentions, unless your section is specific to one Wiki.

Images

Check that any images you use are available on both wikis under the same name. If not, mention in your email what the different file names are. If your image needs to be uploaded, send it as an attachment so that the editor can upload it later.

Due Date

It is vital that you submit your work before at least a week before the next issue is set to be released so that a) the publisher has time to add it into the rest of the magazine and b) there is time to fix any issues that there may be.

Agreed with Draaek. We'd have to change the template to make everything optional and work out how to display sections if others are absent.
