| Here's how it works: To begin with, you must be a registered user with a minimum of 100 edits in the mainspace (check [[Special:Editcount|here]]). Once you have that, you can post an article that you wrote or, if you don't have the time to do that, you can post your ideas so that others can use them and turn them into an article. This can be done by sharing your ideas, drafts and work to the relevant section below.

| #{{KeybladeSpyMaster/Sig}} 21:04, 4 June 2014 (UTC) I can try an make one for this upcoming quarter, but it'd be great if we could have more people submit work for it.
| |
| **Great cover KSM! Only thing I would change is the date as over the IRC, me and Erry agreed that we should include quarters in our naming scheme. I'd rewrite the text and change "Vol 1" to "Issue #1" so that it's more magazine-y and "June 2014" to "Q3 2014" If need be, we can add small print with the exact month and day of its release date: "Released 1st of July (UTC)". Really nice image though. {{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 17:22, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

| *Okay first of my ideas: a [[User:MateusinhoEX/MagazineDraft|tutorial on Flick Rush]]. Will probably make one discussion about the Real Organization XIII, like who can possibly be the other members, if the guy shown on the E3 trailer is a version of Xehanort, if Vanitas, who have the amber eyes, together with Terra-Xehanort, can be part of it and things like that. Opinions, please :) - {{User:MateusinhoEX/SigTemplate}} 01:43, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
| | {{TheFifteenthMember|time={{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 16:38, 24 April 2016 (UTC)|default="Okay, the magazine is getting to the point where it's becoming an annoying thing to do rather than something fun that'll get more people interested in the wiki." I've had this reaction from several people over the last three months, including myself, so it's high time we find some ways to cut down on the amount of work needed to produce the magazine so that it's more manageable. |
| **The tutorial would go under the Dive to the Heart page. As for the theories, they sound interesting so maybe write a draft? {{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 02:56, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
| |
| ***The game tutorial was still missing, eh? Okay, if you want, we can put the Flick Rush one there. I read your talk with ENX and personally loved the idea of him writing possible stories for the untold ones (maybe those are the ones said to be explained in the new Re:Coded cutscenes in 2.5, I don't know). I will write up a draft for the possible True Organization members and maybe also one on questions that are left open on the series (like one of the things I probably will never understand: why after all that trouble with Master Xehanort, Mickey didn't suspected when met Ansem's apprentice that had the same name?). Hey, maybe this is one other story ENX can write about: the full travel of Young Xehanort trough time, showing when, where and how he encountered and recruited the members of the True Organization XIII we know so far. - {{User:MateusinhoEX/SigTemplate}} 13:27, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
| |
| ****Depending on how long ENX's draft is, I'm thinking that the Keyblade Master page could have multiple columns so it's more dynamic. I'll bring it up later. {{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 13:50, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
| |
| *****If people want to read my concept (which is still in development) for the Riku/Mickey "game", they need only read [http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:EternalNothingnessXIII/My_Next_Creative_Project_-_Help_Wanted_and_Ideas_Needed! this]. As for the Xehanort/Eraqus story, it actually takes place ''after'' Young Xehanort returned to his proper place in time in ''KH3D''. It basically details the brotherhood of Eraqus and Xehanort and how that falls apart as Xehanort is tempted by the darkness on his travels. I may include some elements of ''KH3D'' and Young Xehanort's involvement, but it primarily focuses on the time before ''BBS'', where things such as Xehanort discarding his Keyblade Armor to control the darkness are seen. Both of these projects are in the early development stage, and I'd love some helping working a cohesive plot out with someone. Maybe only one story can be featured in this issue. Maybe both can, or maybe neither, in which case I'll contribute some other way. But I'd love to share my ideas with the Wiki, for sure! - {{User:EternalNothingnessXIII/Sig}} 16:29, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
| |
| ******I can't help much with the development, ENX (I haven't played past Re:CoM) but, if you were willing to, you could split your ideas over the next couple issues and turn them into a mini series. I think it would be really interesting to have a series on an original concept like yours to kick off our first issues. :) {{User:FinalRest/Sig}} 04:24, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
| |
| *******That's an interesting idea, one concept per issue, perhaps. MateusinhoEX actually agreed to help with development; he seems most interested in my Riku/Mickey story. More help is always welcome. - {{User:EternalNothingnessXIII/Sig}} 04:47, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
| |
| *******Well, it's not exactly that I like more Riku/Mickey stiry, but it's because I haven't played BBS yet, so I don't know much about Xehanort's history. That's why I have more idea's to the other one. Still, I got an idea: since we're introducing new Disney Worlds, and the history will be split in vatious issues, what about finishing an issue right were the first new Disney World is introduced and then put a message like "''And from now on, you can help write this history. Send your own opinions and ideas about it, and if you want, also send a possibly new history for this Disney World. We will look at your ideas, and who knows, maybe it can make part of the next issue of the KHWiki Magazine!''", or something like that. I think this would get some attention from other users, which would want to help. For now, I think they could help only creating the Disney histories, since they are always based on the original movies happenings, which means people wouldn't come with anything very strange. What do you think? - {{User:MateusinhoEX/SigTemplate}} 13:52, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

| ********What we ''could'' do is pick a concept (let's say, the Riku/Mickey story) and, as you suggested, spread it out across the issues. Then, when that one is done, we could see about continuing with the Eraqus/Xehanort story. I like the idea of asking for ideas/opinions from our readers, but, as these are my creative projects I'm sharing, I'd like to oversee what goes into the story itself, if possible. We could divide the story this way: the first issue would be the start of the story, to perhaps the first Disney World (I think Ancient Kingdom, the ''The Emperor's New Groove'' world). Then it could be like, "Tune in next time for the next part of the story" or something like that. We would then continue with the next world's events, and so on. Again, I just want to make sure that what goes in the magazine adheres to my original vision. This is a game concept, so ideas for gameplay systems would be needed, as well. There are central themes to the story that should be demonstrated as often as possible, et cetera. So yeah. Perhaps have a section asking for ideas/opinions on various things, I could overview the opinions with a couple people, and then the best ones would be considered for being used in the story/gameplay (credit should be given somewhere to the contributors of new ideas). Sorry to sound so defensive/overprotective; these projects ''are'' my "babies," after all :P Oh, and one more thing....perhaps we could just focus on individual aspects of the concept. For instance, let's say we wanted to describe a new gameplay system someone comes up with that adheres to my "connected but separate"/"separate but connected" dual-theme. We could "take a break from the story" to describe it in full, then say, "We'll return to the story of <insert title of project here> in our next issue!" - {{User:EternalNothingnessXIII/Sig}} 16:55, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
| |
|
| |
|
| A mini-series sounds like the way to go; each entry could have an introduction at the beginning explaining what the mini-series is about (in case there's a newcomer who hasn't read the previous issue) and in the introduction, you could add a sentence like "Contact [[User talk:EternalNothingnessXIII|ENX]] if you have any ideas to feedback to him!". Do remember that each new issue would be released after three months so you'd be wanting to make each entry quite chunky so perhaps clustering a few worlds together would be better, unless your ideas for just one world is long enough. Also, you could describe your gameplay system like this. After the story is complete, you put a dotted line (<nowiki>-----</nowiki>) or some other break and you write something like "At the end of this world, Riku/Mickey obtains...<nowiki><Insert gameplay feature here></nowiki>". And then you can go on to explain the mechanic. What do you think? {{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 21:25, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
| | I think that we should cut our 13 page issue down into something like 7 pages, removing all the boring, useless bits that no one seems to like contributing. Maybe making what needs to go in the magazine more flexible so for example, if no one does an interview, it's fine because someone else did a Top 5 for that page. |

Lower amount of content means that we don't have to force ourselves into filling in what was left out but we all still have the pressure of coming up with the rest of the stuff on time, which I believe was the main issue we encountered. If we only lower the amount of issues we'll probably end up having the same content left out in need of someone to fill in regardless of how many time we have to do them. |
|
| |
|

| | {{TheFifteenthMember|time={{User:TheFifteenthMember/Sig1}} 19:41, 18 May 2016 (UTC)|default=Agreed with Draaek. We'd have to change the template to make everything optional and work out how to display sections if others are absent. A small issue is that if we start going twice a year now, the releases would always be in March and October, but it would make more sense for the magazine dates to lie on January (for the new year/end of year events) and July (hot off E3). That means we could either make an issue this July as usual then go with half yearly or just skip this issue, take a 9 month break and start the process in January. While the former is probably the preferable option, I (and most likely many others) will not be able to commit to the magazine so soon after the last one so unless there's someone willing to take the helm of Editor in Chief and there's enough people willing to write content, I'm afraid we might have to wait until January. Honestly, that might not actually be a bad thing because after a 9 month break, I'd be interested in seeing the good ideas that people will then come up with (although if KH3 release date gets announced this year, it'd be shame that we miss the issue).}} |

| **That's much better! We could use that for July's issue unless someone wants to do a more difficult Heartless (though I think we should keep it simple for the first issue). July 01 2016 00:00 UTCEnable JavaScript to view this countdown. until the release of the next issue.
Heard about the new magazine hosted on the KHWiki and the Keyhole and want to get involved? Here at the Journalist Spot, you can share ideas and help us work towards the release of our next issue.
How It Works[edit]
To begin with, you must be a registered user on both Wikis with a minimum of either 300 total edits at the KHWiki (check here) or 100 total edits at the Keyhole (check here).
Once you have that, you can sign-up to do any of the below but remember that it is your responsibility to complete anything you have signed up to at least a week before release. Fortunately, there's plenty of help along the way! Once you've signed up to something, you can share ideas about your topic below in the "Discussion" section. Then, other users will feedback and develop your ideas by giving their own thoughts and opinions so that you have enough inspiration to write your entire piece. If you are doing an interview, debate battle or podcast, work with your partner(s) at an off-Wiki location, such as the IRC or by email.
After you have a first draft, email it to "kingdomheartswikibcrat@gmail.com" so that the Editor in Chief can review your work, fix any mistakes and give you any advice that you might need. Please refrain from posting any drafts on the wiki to prevent ruining the surprise and satisfaction at the end result. Remember to update your status in the sign-up section and again, ensure that you email your work at least a week before release so that there is time to fix any potential issues.
The host for the Journalist Spot alternates every issue so you may need to visit The Keyhole if you want to get involved!
Submission Etiquettes[edit]
For the aid of the publisher, we now request everyone to observe the following etiquettes when you are submitting a piece of work:
- Coding
Insert all the relevant coding in your email, including all images, font colors, formatting and links. Also insert the relevant parameters of your piece. For example, this is an example of a perfect riddle submission:
|gridriddle1=Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
|gridriddle1answer=consectetur adipiscing elit
|gridriddle1author=Cicero
Two templates have been made to handle links: Template:KHWiki and Template:Keyhole. These works by using the following parameters (this uses the KHWiki template as an example but the Keyhole is the same):
{{KHWiki|LINK DESTINATION|DISPLAYED LINK (optional)|HEX CODE FOR FONT COLOR (optional)}}
Example:
{{KHWiki|Donald Duck|Donald|#00000}}
Never use basic [[ ]] links unless you know that both Wikis have the page that you're linking to!
Make sure all property names (e.g. "Kingdom Hearts") are in italics!
- Content
Allude to both Wikis as much as possible with links and mentions, unless your section is specific to one Wiki.
- Images
Check that any images you use are available on both wikis under the same name. If not, mention in your email what the different file names are. If your image needs to be uploaded, send it as an attachment so that the editor can upload it later.
- Due Date
It is vital that you submit your work before at least a week before the next issue is set to be released so that a) the publisher has time to add it into the rest of the magazine and b) there is time to fix any issues that there may be.

"Okay, the magazine is getting to the point where it's becoming an annoying thing to do rather than something fun that'll get more people interested in the wiki." I've had this reaction from several people over the last three months, including myself, so it's high time we find some ways to cut down on the amount of work needed to produce the magazine so that it's more manageable.
I think that we should cut our 13 page issue down into something like 7 pages, removing all the boring, useless bits that no one seems to like contributing. Maybe making what needs to go in the magazine more flexible so for example, if no one does an interview, it's fine because someone else did a Top 5 for that page.
Aixon suggested making it bi-monthly. At first, I was against this but now I've changed my mind and I support this.
Thoughts?

I agree with cutting down the content. I was thinking of making basically everything optional, so we can use what has been done and leave out the rest. I'm not sure if making it bi-monthly will help. If we halve the content we use, but double the amount of issues released, we may end up with the same problems.
Aside from that, the magazine is looking great!

Sorry, I meant halfly (twice a year). TheFifteenthMember 20:00, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
- In that case, I think we should either reduce the content or the amount of issues, but not both. TheSilentHero 20:46, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

As far as I go, I can't really commit to being Editor in Chief anymore without both factors being reduced. I'd be happy to let someone else take the job and only drop one factor though.
Oh yeah, I forgot about how annoying that hover template is. I think we could change the KHWiki's Template:Hover to match the Keyhole, but someone'd have to fix the 50 or so pages that use it, if anyone wants to take up that job.

Sorry to bring this up again but I think we should at least come to a conclusion before the mag ends up being forgotten.
Honestly I agree with FM on reducing both.
By lowering down both we can be way more flexible on the content that we put in and we can give more time to everyone to work on quality things rather than having to rush them (specially when most of us are in finals and all of that). Opinions?

Agreed with Draaek. Honestly, that might not actually be a bad thing because after a 9 month break, I'd be interested in seeing the good ideas that people will then come up with (although if KH3 release date gets announced this year, it'd be shame that we miss the issue).
