'''Olympus Coliseum''' is a world that appears in most the ''{{c|Kingdom Hearts|series}}'' games, and is based on the {{w|The Walt Disney Company|Disney}} feature film, ''{{w|Hercules (1997 film)|Hercules}}''. Although the Coliseum is an invention of the games, and only the Underworld actually appears in the film, the Coliseum has since become a staple in the series. The Coliseum is stated to be in {{w|Greece}}, atop [[Mount Olympus]],<!--Are those— Yeah, there are clouds right outside the window! Where is this place!?--> where Zeus is the ruler, with [[Hades]] running the Underworld.  

In ''Kingdom Hearts II'' the world receives a major expansion with the inclusion of the Underworld, which can be accessed through the {{nihongo|'''{{a|Coliseum Gates}}'''|コロシアム:入口広場|Koroshiamu: Iriguchi Hiroba|lit. "Coliseum: Entry Square"}}. The {{nihongo|'''{{a|Underworld Entrance}}'''|冥界入口|Meikai Iriguchi}} connects the living world to the world of the dead, as well as holding the world's [[Moogle Shop]], a save point, and the [[Underdrome]] where Sora can talk to [[Pain and Panic]] to gain access to the tournaments there. From there, two paths into the Underworld branch off. The first branch that Sora and his friends can explore leads to Hades's domain through the {{nihongo|'''{{a|Cave of the Dead}}'''|亡者の洞窟|Mōja no Dōkutsu}}. Beginning at the {{nihongo|'''{{a|Entrance}}'''|入口|Iriguchi}} the party travels down the narrow and meandering {{nihongo|'''{{a|Passage}}'''|通路|Tsūro}} before reaching the relatively safe {{nihongo|'''{{a|Inner Chamber}}'''|最深部|Saishinbu}}. From there, the party traverses the ledges and cliffs of the {{nihongo|'''{{a|Valley of the Dead}}'''|亡者の谷|Mōja no Tani}} before reaching {{nihongo|'''{{a|Hades' Chamber}}'''|ハデスの間|Hadesu no Ma}}.

Later in the story, the second path opens and allows the group to enter the {{nihongo|'''{{a|Underworld Caverns}}'''|冥界の大空洞|Meikai no Dai Kūdō|lit. "Great Cavity of the Underworld"}}. After going down through the {{nihongo|'''{{a|Entrance}}'''|入口|Iriguchi}}, the party travels through {{nihongo|'''{{a|The Lost Road}}'''|迷いの道|Mayoi no Michi}}, which in turn leads to the {{nihongo|'''{{a|Atrium}}'''|広間|Hiroma|lit. "Hall"}}. After an encounter with [[Demyx]], the party passes through to {{nihongo|'''{{a|The Lock}}'''|封印の間|Fūin no Ma|lit. "Chamber of the Seal"}}, where Meg can be rescued and a boss battle with [[Pete]] takes place.

The Olympus Coliseum itself remain the same as it was in the first game. The Coliseum Gates will take Sora to the '''{{a|Coliseum Foyer}}''' where all the trophies he's previously won will still be on display. Passing further through will take Sora back to {{nihongo|'''{{a|The Coliseum}}'''}} where he can train with Phil. After a battle with the [[Hydra]] resulting in the Olympus Coliseum's destruction, only the Coliseum Gates will be accessible. The area's walls are broken on each side, with the statues being completely decimated and its pieces spread across the room. The Coliseum Foyer is reduced to nothing but rubble which leaves clear of The Coliseum. Certain elements from the foyer has been saved and placed on rocks outside, such as Sora's trophies and Phil's rule board.

In ''Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days'', Olympus Coliseum is almost exactly the same as in ''Kingdom Hearts''. [[Roxas]] arrives at the Coliseum Gates, renamed '''{{a|Outside the Coliseum}}''', during his missions, and heads into the Coliseum Foyer, now renamed '''{{a|Coliseum Vestibule}}'''. The room appears to be a lot bigger than it previously was. The world's final area is the '''{{a|The Coliseum}}''', where various [[Games (KHD)|games]] and mini-games take place.

In ''Kingdom Hearts coded'' the data version of Olympus Coliseum is similar to that of previous games, but with the addition of the data world's Keyhole now being explorable. [[Data-Sora]] arrives '''{{a|Outside the Coliseum}}''', and heads immediatly to the '''{{a|Vestibule}}'''. There the Keyhole can be accessed, taking Data-Sora to the [[Labyrinth]] which is divided into thirty floors, called "layers", with multiple '''{{a|Save Room}}s''' spaced out between them. After Data-Sora completes '''{{a|Layer 01-05}}''', he unlocks '''{{a|Layer 06-15}}'''; after those are completed, he unlocks '''{{a|Layer 16-30}}'''. The Layers are maze like rooms, and the room structure for Layer 01-05 are repeated for the subsequent Layers.

In ''Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep'' the world is once again similar to how it's been in previous installments. Arriving at the world both [[Terra]] and [[Ventus]] land at the only new area {{nihongo|'''{{a|Town Near Thebes}}'''|テーベの町|Tēbe no Machi|lit. "Town of Thebes"}} which leads to the {{a|'''Coliseum Gates'''}}; where [[Aqua]] will make her arrival. From there the '''{{a|Vestibule}}''' can be accessed where Hercules can be asked to partake in the [[Break the Urns]] mini-game, located within the '''{{a|Coliseum}}'''. Two cups and several battles take place there as well.

After receiving word about the resumption of the tournament, Player makes their way to Olympus Coliseum once again to meet with Phil. Phil notes that Player looks even stronger than the last time they'd seen one another before guiding Player back into the arena to continue the tournament. Once Player has made their way through to the end of the semifinals facing Cloud, After defeating Cloud, Hercules notes that the tournament seems a little fishy. Hercules is able to surmise that Hades is behind the whole thing. Hades then appears and admits to having done what he's been accused of, Hades then asks who their champion is. Hercules tells Hades that because he'd arrived before the match had been officially finished, they couldn't declare a winner and his contract is thereby invalid. Though Hades is furious, his mood lightens when Cloud asks to be taken to the Underworld. Phil and Hercules try to convince Cloud that he doesn't know what he's getting himself into, as the Underworld is the world of the dead that exists beneath Darkness itself. Surprisingly, Cloud seems to like the idea, feeling as though “he” would like that kind of place. With Cloud's persistence and interest in darkness, Hades accepts and takes Cloud to the Underworld. Hercules decides that he won't stand for this and that they have to save Cloud, which Phil agree. Phil suggests that Player leave before they get too involved in the situation, Chirithy shows up to open a Gate to the Underworld

In the Underworld, Player only to come to a dead-end when they find a tightly sealed door blocking the path. Returning to the Coliseum, Player tells Phil that they were unable to find Cloud. Player once again returns to the Underworld, where they find Hade, who voices his annoyance with Cloud for declining his offer. Hades vows to make Cloud suffer the next time he sees him. Hades then realizes Player's presence, asking what they were doing there before summoning Cerberus. Player manages to defeat Cerberus, Hades tells Player that he never anticipated that they'd defeat Cerberus, and how powerful they were. Hades encourage Player to gain more power they'd have to bind their will to the Darkness and to reach his Throne Room, he will tell him more. Player makes their way to Hades's Throne Room, where Hades says that he will teach Player how to access darkness. Player asks that Hades instead tell them where Cloud is. Hades intends on allowing Player to access their talent to its full capabilities. When Player asks how Hades intends on making that happen, Hades explains that all Player has to do is perform a few little tasks. After the series of tests, Player is still unable to harness the power of darkness, and so instead Hades tells Player to wait while he thinks up more tests.

Player and Hercules find that most of the Coliseum has been destroyed, arriving just as Hades strikes down Cloud. While Phil takes care of Cloud, Hercules and Player battle with Hades. Together, they manage to defeat Hades/ Phil congratulates Hercules on his victory, mentioning that he could feel the power of his and Player's friendship at work. Hercules then looks to Player and agrees that friends offer the greatest source of power. This intrigues Cloud, who then decides that he should be on his way as he has no business there anymore. Phil stops him, however, and insists that he rebuild the Coliseum, a task which Cloud reluctantly accepts.

In the Underworld, the heroes encounter and have their first confrontation with Demyx. After recovering the Olympus Stone, the team rescue Meg with the help of Hercules and [[Pegasus]] before opening another gateway with the Olympus Stone. There, they battle Pete while unlocking the Underworld Coliseum. After sending Pete off, Hades gloats his victory while reminding Hercules of the Hydra he neglected to defeat properly. They return to the coliseum to see that the Hydra had destroyed it, leaving Hercules crestfallen over having failed to protect the people. After defeating the Hydra, Sora returns the Olympus Stone to Hercules and reveals itself as a gateway to another world.

On the team's second visit, the Underdrome has been unlocked, and Hades kidnaps Meg to bait Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Hercules into competing in the games. After earning a place in the finals, they learn that Hades has stolen Auron's free will, controlling him to defeat Hercules, along with Sora. Hercules voluntaries to face Auron alone while Sora, Donald, and Goofy retrieve the statue Hades is using to control Auron. By returning the statue, Auron regains his free will and refuses to fight. Hades, as Hercules's punishment, drops Meg into the River Styx, and Hercules jumps in after her.
