The Accessory Shop found in Radiant Garden.

Accessories (アクセサリー Akusesarī?) are equippable items introduced in Kingdom Hearts. When equipped to a character, they provide a number of functions to them, including a stat boost, protection against certain kinds of damage, and other additional effects.

In Kingdom Hearts II, Armors were introduced, granting defensive abilities, including protection against specific kinds of magic. Accessories became solely focused on improving the character's offensive stats and abilities.

Appearances

Kingdom Hearts

In Kingdom Hearts, accessories are the only kind of equipment every character can equip besides weapons. They have a wide range of effects, able to improve a character's defense, Hit Points, magic points, AP, and strength, as well as providing defense against one or more kinds of elemental damage, Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, and Dark.

Accessories may be obtained in a number of ways. Each world has at least one accessory that may be won during events or upon completion of that world. Some are found in chests throughout the game, especially in the End of the World. The most basic kinds can be purchased, most notably at the accessory shop in Traverse Town. Most powerful varieties of accessories must be synthesized with the Moogles. On rare occasions, accessories may be dropped by Heartless in the course of battle.

Sora and Donald each begin the game with one accessory slot, and Goofy begins with two. Sora gains an additional slot at level 30 with the Dream Shield, level 39 with the Dream Sword, and level 45 with the Dream Rod. Goofy gains two additional slots, at level 24 and level 48.

Three accessories underwent slight stat changes in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, and fifteen new ones were added.

Kingdom Hearts II

With the introduction of armors, the role of accessories is simplified in Kingdom Hearts II, only providing bonuses to a character's strength, magic, and AP. In addition, two accessories, the Lucky Ring and the Draw Ring, provide special abilities to the party when equipped on a character.

The weakest accessories can be purchased during the first visit to each world in game in the shops of Twilight Town, the Land of Dragons, Timeless River, and Halloween Town. In addition, many are obtained from chests in various worlds. However, during the second section of the game, stronger accessories can only be obtained through synthesis. Unlike the first game, Heartless will never drop accessories.

The first potential accessory to be obtained in Kingdom Hearts II is dependent on gameplay and events. If Roxas fails to win the Struggle tournament, he will obtain a Medal accessory instead of the Champion Belt armor.

Sora, Donald, and Goofy each begin the game with one accessory slot. Sora obtains two additional slots, one after successfully escorting Queen Minnie to the Throne Room in Disney Castle, and one after defeating Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed during the second visit to the Pride Lands. Donald obtains one additional accessory slot after defeating Hades on the second visit to Olympus Coliseum. Goofy obtains one additional accessory slot after defeating the Master Control Program at Space Paranoids.

World-specific party members, such as Jack Skellington, Auron, and Beast, have at least one accessory slot, but cannot gain any more through the course of the game. Likewise, Roxas only has one accessory slot and cannot obtain more.

Five new accessories were added for Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. Two of these accessories, Shadow Archive+ and Full Bloom+, have the special passive abilities of MP Rage and MP Haste, respectively.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

"Ring" redirects here. You may have been looking for the accessory in Kingdom Hearts Dark Road.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, ring panels are accessories that can be bought from the Organization Moogle. You can only equip one ring panel at a time and they can give various positive and negative status effects.

Kingdom Hearts Re:coded

In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, accessories give certain abilities when equipped (e.g. equipping the Armor Bangle provides the Round Block ability).

Kingdom Hearts III

Sora and Goofy each start the game with one accessory slot. Donald, however, starts with two slots. They can earn more as the game progresses. Earnings are as follows:

  • Sora gains a second accessory slot by clearing the pack of Gigas in the Verum Rex demo. He later gains a third slot after defeating the pack of Heartless at the Valley of Ice.
  • Donald gains a third accessory slot by defeating the first pack of Heartless Ships in The Caribbean.
  • Goofy gains a second accessory slot by defeating the Grim Guardianess.
