| When Aqua and Mickey arrive at the remains of Destiny Islands, she recalls the last time she visited the Islands and met Sora and Riku. Mickey explains that the two boys have been aiding him in his journey and prepares to investigate the door leading to the Secret Place. However, the Demon Tide attacks, forcing the two Keyblade Masters to battle it in a strenuous battle.
| | The Demon Tide attacks Aqua and King Mickey when they investigate the door inside the Secret Place. It is defeated by the two Keyblade Masters. The Demon Tide next attacks Riku, but Aqua sacrifices herself to keep the boy safe. |
|
| |
|
| Later, after Mickey acquires the Kingdom Key D, he and Aqua notice Riku rushing to the Door to Darkness and prepare to help him seal it, but the Demon Tide reappears and attempts to attack Riku. The two Keyblade Masters rush to Riku's aid, with Aqua attempting to restrain the Heartless with chains of light. The Demon Tide breaks free and drags Aqua back to the remains of Destiny Islands, destroying Mickey's shirt in the process.

| | | Much like the Demon Tower, the Demon Tide is a swarm of Shadows. It is large, travels in waves, and has a core that glows violet or orange. |
| Inside the remains of Destiny Islands, Aqua continues to fight the Demon Tide as she silently promises to help anyone else who falls into the Realm of Darkness.
| |

| ==Appearance== | |
| The Demon Tide, much like the Demon Tower, is comprised of a swarm of Shadows. Unlike the Demon Tower, the Demon Tide is bigger, is wave-shaped (hence the name, "Demon Tide"), and has a core at the tip of the Heartless that glows either violet or orange.

|
| ==Strategy== | | ==Strategy== |
| The Demon Tide is the final boss of the game, and as such, is very resilient. To prepare for this boss, Aqua needs to keep her item bar packed with Hi-Potions, Mega-Ethers, and even Elixirs or Megalixirs if one knows how to find them. | | The Demon Tide is the final boss of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-. As such, it is resilient. Aqua should be sure to have many items equipped before she faces this Heartless. |
| | | ===Phase one=== |
| At the start of the fight, the Demon Tide has three attacks, all telegraphed by the Shadows' eyes glowing red. When the Shadows' eyes are red, try not to attack or otherwise touch the Demon Tide. The first consists of it flying around the area and trying to ram Aqua and Mickey, a manner reminiscent of the Demon Tower. Barrier is sufficient to guard the hits. It also has the ability to release Shadows, again like the Demon Tower, but don't be fooled by the Shadows - they can trap Aqua in a swarm if ignored. Both Barrier and Cartwheel are effective for warding them off. The third move consists of it burrowing underground, its presence indicated by a cloud of dust. When it emerges from the ground, use Barrier and Counter Blast in order to deal damage.
| | This boss initially has access to three attacks: a soaring strike, a Shadow trap, and an assault from underground. Each of these can be avoided with a well-timed Barrier, and a quick Counter Blast can then be used to damage the boss. Aqua can tell when the Demon Tide is about to attack by watching the eyes of the Shadows that comprise it: when the eyes glow red, it means the boss is about to strike. Aqua should avoid the Demon Tide in these instances and use a combination of physical attacks and magic to harm it in the interim. Whenever the Wayfinder Situation Command becomes available, Aqua can use it to immobilize the Demon Tide and quickly deplete its HP by teaming up with King Mickey. |
| | | ===Phase two=== |
| The player should use Keyblade combos and magic to deal as much damage as possible the Demon Tide whenever the Shadows' eyes are yellow. While its core is its weak point, hitting the Shadows comprising the being also counts as damage to the boss.
| | The Demon Tide becomes much more aggressive in an attempt to protect its vulnerable core. Added to its arsenal is a new projectile attack that is best avoided with Cartwheel. Aqua should bombard the Demon Tide with aerial combos until its HP is fully depleted. |
| | |
| At random points, Mickey can leap onto the Demon Tide, prompting the Wayfinder Situation Command. During this period of time, the Demon Tide is vulnerable, so the player should take advantage of this point to whale on the boss. When this command is activated, Mickey scatters the Demon Tide's Shadows, followed by Aqua binding the boss's core with chains of light. Immediately afterwards, the Wayfinder Style Change activates. Use the opportunity granted by Wayfinder to deliver the most damage possible in the entire fight, but be cautious to use all the time given. After the Wayfinder finisher, the Demon Tide breaks free, reassembling the Shadows in the process.
| |
| | |
| After the boss's health hits a certain point, it burrows underground, triggering the second phase of the fight. The Shadows now surround the core in a tornado formation, constantly flying around it. During this time, the Tide retains its charge attack and its ability to release Shadows, but it also has a new attack in which its core rises upwards and fires globs of darkness that home in on Aqua, with Cartwheeling being the prime way of avoiding it. After some time, the Tide launches Aqua into the air and simply waits underneath her, firing the globs from underground. As simply letting gravity pull Aqua to the boss is risky, try to remain airborne with physical attacks.
| |
| | |
| When the attack is over, the Demon Tide is now vulnerable, once again indicated by the yellow glow of the Shadows' eyes. As such, the player must deal as much damage before another series of attacks start. The process will repeat itself until the boss is defeated.
| |
|
| |
|
| If having trouble with the second phase, there is a strategy that can be used to skip the second phase and defeat the Demon Tide. After using the Wayfinder Situation Command, fire two Prism Rain volleys at the core, consuming Elixirs or Mega-Elixirs to restore the Focus Gauge before firing two more volleys. Then use the time and power granted by Wayfinder to deplete the rest of the boss's health to 1 HP. Only when the Demon Tide breaks free can it enter the second phase. Immediately afterwards, fire a spell at the core, defeating the boss immediately.
