The Ultimania is canon unless you can provide a statement from Nomura stating otherwise. It contains interviews with the staff of the game, where interviewers are questioning people like Nomura, on the record, about the canon. Nomura has said that Roxas possessed Ventus's heart, and that this is part of the reason that he had emotions -- KH3D later confirmed that Nobodies naturally develop their own hearts over time, but this does not in any way contradict Roxas already having emotions and a heart -- he just developed his own, much like the Kingdom Key was originally borrowed from Riku but Sora developed his own possession over time."We're werewolves, not swearwolves."
