Battle
Riku is a Crisis Swordsman : he uses quick and powerful combos, but suffers from a lack of defense. This, in turn, allows him to be quickly near death - and then, many of Riku's abilities will activate, as they increase the player's strength as Riku's life decreases. Surprisingly, as Riku is a close-range physical attacker for most Brave Attacks, his HP attacks have an unexpected long range.

Riku's Ex Mode is naturally his Dark Form, and it grants many useful abilities. With Regen comes Dark Extend (all attacks increase in range and become Dark-Elemental, some attacks are improved) and Painseeker (power increases as HP decreases).
Riku's Ex Burst is called Dark Session. Riku will first blast the enemy with a burst of Dark Firaga, then will unleash his Dark Aura. You will have to press Triangle as Riku strikes the enemy : if done incorrectly, Riku will finish with a more powerful version of his standard Dark Aura finisher (with several dark lightnings). A perfect execution, however, will allow Riku to use All's End, blasting the enemy with a burst of dark energy.
