OK I found out that in mythology Fenrir is a giant wolf and no chains can hold him for he is forever growing. DO did youes the name come from this or is it coincidental? Does anyone know? in norse mythology, when Fenrir was bound, a sword was placed in his jaws so that he could not close them. while the name may have come from the motorcyle in FF7:AC, the fact the keyblade looks like a sword with toothmarks from something biting it implies the myth might have influenced the artistic designer. 75.161.47.235 05:54, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

It does, but I think that was the intention from the beginning, giving Cloud's KHII costume and all. At least to me the final upgrade looks also more like the chainsaw sword from Sora's earliest designs, like if those "sawteeth" could rotate around the center now. --ShardofTruth 13:45, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
