Talk:Ansem's Reports
I wonder if the format can be altered in the form of Tabbers like the one on my Sandbox. Byzantinefire (talk) 21:37, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
I looks pretty good, but maybe shorter tab titles? (E.g. Report 1, Report 2, etc.) --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 05:39, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
Error[edit]
I haven't checked how the reports are written in KH2 in a while, but according to "Secret Ansem's Report 2" on this page, Ansem the Wise had only written Report #0 (aka "Ansem's Report 1") while Xehanort only wrote numbers 1 through 8 (or Reports 2-9). Doesn't this mean Xehanort didn't write reports 9-12? Is the Wiki incorrect, or is Ansem incorrect? Does the Japanese version say any different? 107.129.74.67 01:04, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- ...Ansem couldn't have known about 10-13 because he had been banished to the Realm of Darkness BEFORE they were written. Rex Ronald Rilander (talk) 03:59, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- Alright, I guess that makes sense then. Thanks. 107.129.74.67 06:14, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
Japanese name[edit]
Does anyone know what the reports are known as in the Japanese script? --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 16:59, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- The Japanese characters for one of the Secret Reports in KH are found at 20:47 in this link. They spelled out as "アンセムレポ一卜〇", roughly meaning "Ansem's Report(s)" (same in the English).--NinjaSheik 22:00, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah, I kinda figured that out due to me being "oh wait I could just look at KH Final Mix's Japanese script". To be honest, is that a 0 or a 1? Cause it seems that with that one Ansem Report I assume the rest of them in the Japanese script are numbered differently but I'll have to look at further parts of the game first. --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 05:29, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- P.S.: Thanks to Koei Wikia, I'm developing their habit of quoting their "Japanese script vs. overseas script" a lot. --SneaselSawashiro (talk) 05:29, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- It's a 0. My bad. I should taken the number out after I transcribed the characters. ^_^; The numbering for the English and Japanese are different, since they used 0 for the first report in the Japanese, which the player obtains after defeating Genie Jafar. In this video, for example, after defeating Captain Hook, you get the ninth report (as stated on the article page), but in the Japanese, it's labeled as the eighth report. See at 11:01.--NinjaSheik 21:38, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Sneasel, it's already covered in the article intro. Please stop re-adding it."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:22, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Reports 11-13[edit]
Technically, 11-13 would be written by Ansem SoD, yes?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 12:55, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
Ansem's Report 9[edit]
This is more of a lore question, but what's up with this one? It sounds like it's written about the King, but it was written by Xehanort, wasn't it? Does that mean Xehanort met Mickey at some point? Or is this just lore inconsistency leftover from the whole 'Ansem SOD was actually Xehanort' thing established after KH1?
Okay wait, why does the main page say he wrote entries 2-13 in the first place, when Ansem the Wise says in his own secret report Xehanort wrote 2-9 (1-8 in Japanese)? NVM, I see the first discussion at the beginning of this page. My point still stands about Report 9, though. -- mikoto 04:46, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- I think it's just a leftover inconsistency. We know that Mickey met Ansem the Wise on several occasions, and we see one of these meetings in the KHII flashback (the cutscene is "The King's Memory"). In this scene, researcher Terra-Xehanort briefly pops in, and from Mickey's reaction and later account, it appears as though this is the first (and perhaps only?) time they met. This contradicts Report 9 – the report must have been written about Mickey's first arrival, which would have been far earlier.
- Also, if Report 9 was truly written by Xehanort, that would mean he and Mickey conversed for hours, which is not the case. As per the cutscene and Secret Ansem Report 2, Micky knew about Xehanort's unethical experiments and the fake "Ansem's Reports", so it would be out-of-character for him to engage in deep conversation with Xehanort. Plus, when Mickey looks at the picture of Xehanort, he can only say "Hmm... I know I've met this fake Ansem before" ("Ansem's True Identity"), so I'd say the chance of them actually conversing is basically nil. —Aid1043 (talk) 05:52, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
