I just recently strolled across the Aladdin page, and was wondering if it would be trivia worthy to mention that Aladdin wielded a sword in the original Sega Genesis port of the Aladdin game based off of the move. I believe it would be safe to say that this was an influence to his weapon of choice in the Kingdom Hearts series.

I don't think so. His weapon isn't an influence from the SEGA Genesis game, but rather, by the movie. At least, we can safely assume that the weapon is influenced by the movie. We can't assume safely that it was influenced by the Genesis game.

Aladdin never wielded a sword in the movie, was my point. He is only shown wielding a sword in the Genesis port of Aladdin and Kingdom Hearts.
