Normally removing the heart from a Somebody would create a [[Heartless]] (and rarely a [[Nobody]] as well); however, [[Davy Jones]] is an excpetion to this, as he was able to remove his own heart and only become ''emotionally'' heartless. This is due to the magic of the goddess [[Tia Dalma|Calypso]], who had cursed Jones to ferry the souls of the dead to the afterlife for eternity, thus providing him a loophole that kept him a Somebody.
