Nothing has been left to chance. Four warriors remain able in this arena, atop the pillars around the Seat of War. As they look down, will they see their friends and foes' fates, or will they be felled by their opponent, having decided that they care more for their friends' fates than their own, and victory? The end is near, as light and darkness now seems to be pouring of the sky from the hearts above. A young warrior now finds himself pitted against the man who tried to defeat both of his friends, and now he must prove that light must conquer all. Or perhaps he is under true illusion, and that the man's darkness is overpowering for the pitiful boy. Elsewhere, a warrior who has taken faith in darkness must now pit his strength against an elderly Master who is shackled to the light--as well as his mentor. As father and son clash among the canyon, something greater awaits the victors....

Battle Observatory[edit]

I honestly find Ventus to be a rehash of the Sora brand character. I did not like him as a character, though his childish instincts can provide a chuckle every cutscene, here and there. Overall, though, he's far inperior to the ACCENT-speaking sniper. In addition, Braig vs. Xigbar. Coolest match ever. --DTN Room Core.png 03:30, December 3, 2010 (UTC)
I do agree that I silently wished a Somebody would go up against his Nobody, but that didn't sway my voting. I also agree that Ventus is a bit of a clone of Sora, but then again, maybe that's why I like him so much. He's Sora with an even more childlike aura... Are you not a fan of Sora, either, then? Actually I found quite a bunch of character traits that actually set apart Sora and Ventus from one another. But granted, that's probably because I purposely paid attention to find them. Sephiroth0812 17:08, December 3, 2010 (UTC)
If you look hard enough, you can find differences between any two things that appear related. But DTN is right; Ventus is essentially Sora reincarnated ten years earlier. Having said that, Terra is essentially Riku, and Aqua is what I presume Kairi will become in the next few games (much to my dismay). Sora reincarnated ten years earlier => Lol, that's actually a paradox in itself. True, they're all very similar, yet not the same. For Ven and Sora, they not only appear related, but in fact are very close related due to their special bond. Hey maggosh, I'm pretty sure they mean gameplay wise, not story wise. Squeenix (heh, i said squeenix) basically made a copy of sora, put a wig on him, and pretend he's someone else. Like Hannah Montana, except the new one is actually better than the old. Obviously, canonically sora's personality came from ven, but Nomura apparently want's ven to be just like sora. Yep, got that Maggosh...;), that Mickey-Oswald-thing is a good comparison. CaelumLucisCaliga, actually, I find Sora and Ven in terms of gameplay even more diverse then personality-wise. Canonically, Sora inherited the ability to dual-wield from Ven and has adopted some traits from him due to Ven's injured heart taking a nap in his, yes, and they have very similar personalities, but they still are distinct persons. I meant creation-wise. Kingdom Hearts came out in 2002, and ten years later (okay, eight, whatever), they've recreated his character as Ventus in BbS. Soxxeh 00:46, December 5, 2010 (UTC)
Creation-wise you could also say the same for Terra-Riku, Aqua-Kairi. And the reasons for it are actually made reasonable and explained through the storytelling. No one we know so far has a so close bond like the one Sora and Ven share. On another note however: Gosh, the next round is gonna be especially hard...I don't think Braig and Eraqus can catch up in the one day that's left. Sora and Ventus share a story-intertwined bond unlike the others because they share their hearts, but in the same way that Terra is a rehash of Riku (as well as Aqua and Kairi), Ventus is much a rehash of the original Sora character. Regardless, I think this probably is not the place for this discussion, so I'm cutting off my posts here. :P On the other note, however, I do think that the Ventus-Terra battle will be one of the titans. So later I invite him to see my impressionable young students and the player says “Are you serious?”.
