Hey, all! SO! As I mentioned previously, we've got a lot to do on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki and on the Kingdom Hearts Wikiverse sites as a whole. So, with 2017 wrapping up on us here and the year of Kingdom Hearts III upon us, we've got a few announcements to make. First, though I don't have the authority to say anything, I think a moment of thanks for everyone here is in order. Because we've done a lot on site this year, and over the years, and I personally want to thank all of you for your efforts and time, and for your friendship. So,
As we've been planning for the upcoming year, we've decided to focus on all our running projects as found in the previous forum. In the coming days, I'll be updating all the project pages to list all that's missing (at least as far as I can tell) with each one. Again, the current list of things to do is:
- Project χ (Key)
- Better plot coverage
- Image Renovation
- Cards
- Music
- Coliseum
- Items/Key Items/Item page rewrite
- Video
- World
- Gummi
- SHOUT
- Key Items
- Command Boards
- Keyblade Glider page need rewrite
- Prize Pod table needs an update
- Reaction Commands
- Attack page rewrite featuring all alternate attacks.
- Synthesis page
- Merchandise
- Interview/Game Transcripts
- Theater Mode
- Project Manga
So, I'm proposing that we all commit to finishing all these projects in time for the release of Kingdom Hearts III. That gives us just about a year to do it. It's quite a commitment. In order to help us out, we've been testing a few new tools we think you'll love.
Trello:
We've set up a Trello board for the wiki. See here. For those unfamiliar with it, Trello is like an online bulletin board. It'll help us get a broader view of what needs to be done. It'll also help us know exactly what needs to be done, and more specific than what we could reasonably do on the wiki, more easily. It's publicly viewable, but an account is required to edit it. There are lists currently for Project χ and Project Merchandise.
Discord:
We've joined the cool kids and set up a Discord server! Chain and I have been testing this out this week. We know there's some discomfort with making an account, but we've found out there's a way to make it so you can join without creating an account. To do so:
- Simply go to [1] and select "Open Discord in Browser".
- Choose a nickname and verify you're not a robot
- You can skip the tutorial.
- When it asks to register, simply click on the background to close it.
- Click on the + sign on the left hand side, and select "Join a Server"
- Input this link: https://discord.gg/p9mEhe7
We'd like everyone to join and try it out. The idea is that it'll help us better communicate progress and assignments for the individual projects. In fact, we can create individual channels for each project. And the great thing is that Discord has supported mobile apps, so it makes it more convenient. Now, this server isn't meant to replace any existing chat channels like the Facebook Messenger groups or the IRC. Rather, it's to help us better organize. It's an addition, and an expansion of some of our discussion outlets on the wikis (there's a forum that is an expansion to the World That Never Was forum)
So, we'd like to get your feedback. The plan is to have any issues and questions resolved and have these tools available to whoever is interested by New Years, if we're interested in having them. As well as having them linked on the wikis. Please let us know what you think, any improvements we need to make, and any other thoughts you have!

CODE 0xKHWV001: SYSTEM START UP Alright, guys, it's been a few days, we'd like some feedback on a few things: 1) Are we okay with the goal to finish all our projects by the end of next year? 2) Do we feel the Trello board will help us stay organized? 2) Do we feel the Discord server will help us better communicate with our projects? Let us know, we'd like to go public with it all by new years!

Here are my thoughts:
- While it would be nice to finish all projects in a year, I'm not sure we'll be able to make it. Especially considering KHUX is still adding new stuff, and KH3 releasing next year.
- While I like the way you can organize projects on Trello, I don't really see a need for it, because we can keep track of those things on a Forum or KHWiki project page.
- I do think the Discord might help to communicate things better.

My two cents:
- Ditto on what TSH said. While it'd be great to finish the projects in a year, that's just not possible, given the number of active staff on the wiki and how time-consuming the projects are, especially since most of us are either in college and/or working in RL.
- Ditto on TSH said again. No need for excess when keeping track of those things can be easily be done on the forums and Project Pages.
- I'm pretty much indifferent to the Discord, because we already have our own IRC, but I'm not against it if the rest of the community wants to use it. I will still want to use the IRC we have already to communicate since it's much more convenient. Users should be free to go whatever chatrooms they want, as long we have enough users monitoring them.

On the timespan of things...Sure, there's only a couple people around who are truly active every day. Hell, I'm no different. I'm probably the biggest pot calling the kettle black right now on that. Real life interrupts and keeps us busy, and what "free time" (there is no such thing as free time) we do have, we'd much rather spend it doing other things- the Wiki often gets the back burner. But, as we've each seen in the past, never underestimate the power of a Wiki- even if it is just one user. Don't believe the speed in which even two or three users can handle? Just look back at the Days mission articles, Project: Music's information- I could go on and on.
I believe we should still keep and advertise each of these projects to be done within the year. It is a noble goal, and something completely obtainable if we each truly buckle down and do some good 'ol fashion editing when we are able (notice the real world spin I added there). The purpose of goals is to help everyone see what the ultimate desired outcome is. To get there, we come up with a plan of action- something we're doing right now on this forum as well as on each project's respective page. Whether we hit this goal or not has yet to be seen, but shutting it down before it even has time to tie its shoes...C'mon now. Yes, I realize it doesn't seem feasible. But, if we initially shoot this goal down and just say "these are projects that have to be done sometime," we'll never get them done. This page's existence is proof of that.

CODE 0xKHWV001: SYSTEM START UP I agree entirely with what Xion said, and that's the basis for this goal. It isn't that we can accomplish it based on the past, but rather a commitment to do what we can do going forward to accomplish it. Both the Discord and Trello boards are meant to help us get closer to that goal. Part of the plan is that we attract others who are willing to spend at least some of their time to help out. All of these things may happen. They may not. But the point of a goal isn't to reflect what we've been able to do, but to reflect what we want to do, and are willing to try to do. I'm personally willing to try and finish our projects. I'm willing to do what I can to get others here. I'm willing to spend what time I can here. I may not be able to spend a lot; none of us can. But what I can do, I'm willing to do with the hopes that we accomplish this goal. THAT's really the question here; it isn't whether we can do it. Rather, are we willing to commit to trying?

If you want to set a goal for the projects, maybe it would be better to pick out a couple of projects and set the goal to 3-4 months from now. Then, when we reach that goal, we can see which projects are done and which aren't, and set a new goal with new projects replacing the finished ones. If we focus on a couple of projects, we might actually get them done before KH3 releases. When it does, I think most of our time (should) go towards adding information about KH3, though.

Hero's proposition works for me. Which projects did you have in mind? Regardless of what is nominated here, I'll still work on the image renovation and manga front.

CODE 0xKHWV001: SYSTEM START UP I mean, we can do both. We can commit to have them all done (or as close as we can get) by the time Kingdom Hearts III comes out, so that we can focus on that once the game does come out, and we can set a smaller goal for say, 3 months out, with a few of the projects (like 2-3, no more than 4) to be done by then. Short-term goals to meet the long-term one. I figured we'd picked them out already: Project χ, Project Merchandise, Project Image Renovation, and Project Manga. But if there are other suggestions, we can choose which ones we actually want to commit to from now till April.
