What do you guys think about creating an independent Final Fantasy wiki for SEIWA? It seems like an obvious wiki that SEIWA is missing. --Porplemontage (talk) 00:26, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think there's any point in competing against FFWiki. --Sove 00:33, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
- The only possible with me is that I could start a Final Fantasy XIII-series wiki. Erry ♓ 00:53, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

I'm for it, since it might help revive SEIWA. But we better speak with the admins of the FFWiki about this first, as I hate to compete with THTSNBN. I think we should start with the focus on FFXIII first (especially because of the new Lighting Returns game coming up soon), then after awhile (depending on viewers), move on to the others (I'm agreeing with ErryK).
I've thought up a few names for the wiki:
- Chocopedia
- Crystalpedia
- Mooglepedia
I prefer to use "pedia" over "*INSERT SERIES NAME HERE* Wiki" when picking names.
This suggestion can be controversal, but it's better than letting THTSNBN take all our hope... and money.

I agree that the goal should be to eventually cover all of Final Fantasy since we're talking about SEIWA covering the Square-Enix flagship series. One option we know that we have is to branch from Wikia under the Creative Commons license, as was done here. Attempting to create a Keyhole-esque partnership with FFWiki should be the first avenue we try. --Porplemontage (talk) 08:32, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
- Though I agree that there should be a Final Fantasy Wiki for SEIWA, this will indeed be a difficult and controversal task. Maybe we should talk about it in the SEIWA forums. UxieLover1994 09:02, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
FFWiki doesn't want to have anything to do with SEIWA. Their community is also not willing to branch from wikia as of now, and even if they did, they would search for another host, because they would demand server access. --Sove 12:02, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
- This sounds familiar... UxieLover1994 12:08, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi, this is Yuanchosaan, an admin from the FF Wiki. I've just popped by to confirm that the FF wiki community currently has no interest in joining SEIWA. There was a great deal of negative feeling about Wikia following the introduction of Oasis, but we've mostly integrated that into our running of the wiki (with a few grumbles, it must be said) and the ill-will has died down. You're certainly free to create your own wiki focusing on FFXIII in the manner of FFXIclopedia and FFXI. Under Creative Commons, you can even copy our articles to start a general FF wiki. Though the latter does beg the question of why you would want to compete in the same area. 129.94.116.176 01:19, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

Well there we have it. A wiki for Final Fantasy XIII is allowed. At least SEIWA can cover one Final Fantasy series...

I'm trying to get MediaWiki installed on my server so we can start to get this show on the road. EDIT: I'll install MediaWiki tomorrow night.
