Scan (ライブラ Raibura, lit. "Libra") is an ability introduced in Kingdom Hearts. It allows the user to view a targeted enemy's HP.
Mechanics[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts, Scan is a support ability that costs 1 AP to equip.
In Kingdom Hearts II, Scan is a support ability that costs 2 AP to equip.
In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Scan is an ability panel.
In Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, Scan is a Bonus Booster ability. Unlike other Bonus Booster abilities, Scan cannot be toggled off and on once activated. It is also used to detect the backdoors that lead to System Sectors. Scan can be leveled up from Scan Lv.1 to Scan Lv.2, Scan Lv.3 and Scan Lv.4. With each upgrade of the ability, Scan's backdoor sensor becomes more powerful, indicated by the starting color of the sensor changing from blue to light blue, green, and yellow, and previously inaccessible backdoors are revealed.
In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Scan is a support ability that can be equipped once.
In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Scan is a support ability that can be equipped once.
In Kingdom Hearts III, Scan is a support ability that costs 1 AP to equip.

- Sora learns Scan at level 9 with the Dream Rod, 12 with the Dream Shield, and 15 with the Dream Sword.[KH I]
- Sora learns Scan at level 9 with the Dream Sword, 15 with the Dream Rod, and 21 with the Dream Shield.[KH I FM]
Kingdom Hearts II[edit]
- Roxas or Sora learns Scan at level 4.[KH II]
- Roxas learns Scan after defeating Axel.[KH II FM]
- Dual-wielding Roxas has Scan as a default ability.
- King Mickey has Scan as a default ability.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days[edit]
- Scan is a clear bonus for Mission 04.
Kingdom Hearts Re:coded[edit]
- Data-Sora learns and levels up Scan by linking the CPU to the blue Bonus Boosters in the first, fourth, sixth and ninth sections of the Stat Matrix.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep[edit]
- Scan is attached to Terra's, Ventus's, and Aqua's Quick Blitz commands at the beginning of their stories.
