The Hermit is a deck of Cards that can be wielded by Luxord in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to The Hermit+.

Design

A card from The Hermit deck has an octagonal shape and a white border. There is another, black, inside border and a black cross design on the face of the card. There is a black circle close to each of the cross's four corners. The rest of the card is orange. There are two oval-shaped sections taken out of each long side of the card.

The Hermit is one of twenty-two cards that make up a Tarot deck's Major Arcana. It is numbered IX (9).

Gameplay

The Hermit's normal ground combo starts with an upward spiral of cards and ends with a wide spray of cards forwards, which is performed twice. The Y combo can be activated after the first attack, and consists of Luxord performing a 360° spin, with his cards surrounding his legs, followed by a spinning leap, surrounded in an upward spiral of cards. When this weapon or its "+" form is equipped, Luxord strings together multiple hits in a standard three-hit ground combo. Sending multiple cards upwards and then forwards, he can deal great amounts of damage in a rather short time. His standard aerial combo changed to two aerial slashes followed by a downward swing, Luxord's attack style when wielding The Hermit is very similar to the one he uses in Kingdom Hearts II as a boss.

The aerial combo consists of Luxord performing a spinning leap, surrounded in an upward spiral of cards before ending with a two-handed diagonal swipe downwards with a large card held in each hand.
