Kingdom Hearts III
Monsters, Inc. (2001)

A former scarer at Monsters, Incorporated. Getting banished from the company didn't put an end to his scheming, and he came back more determined than ever to get revenge on Sulley and Mike.
"You clowns are gonna be sorry when I find my way back and I finally take over this place!"
—Randall

Randall Boggs is a former scarer from Monstropolis who serves as an antagonist in Kingdom Hearts III. He debuted in Disney/Pixar's Monsters, Inc, and he returns after the events of the film with help from Vanitas.

Story

Randall is a top scarer at Monsters, Inc. He targets a little human girl, Boo, but is defeated by his rival, James P. Sullivan, and banished. The door through which Randall is forced is subsequently destroyed.

Eventually, Randall is found by Vanitas, who exploits the monster's desire for revenge against Sulley. Randall's door is repaired, and the disgraced scarer returns to Monstropolis. Randall learns the city has come to rely on the power of laughter, but he sees this as unsustainable and begins to seek out negative emotions with help from the Unversed.

Randall's mission puts him in conflict once again with Sulley and Mike Wazowski. Randall and the Unversed infiltrate Monsters, Inc., but they are ultimately stopped by Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy. With little protest, Randall goes back into the human world. While he swears to return, the disgraced monster is permanently sealed away by Sora's Keyblade.

Appearance

Randall is a purple, lizard-like monster with green eyes. He has four arms, four legs, and a blue tail. Three fronds with pink tips appear atop his head, and as in his film of origin, Randall is able to camouflage.

Personality

Irritable, deceptive, and competitive, Randall is driven solely by thoughts of revenge. He readily dismisses the power of positive emotions, believing negativity to be a greater source of energy.

Origin

Randall first appears in Disney/Pixar's 2001 film, Monsters, Inc. Voiced by Steve Buscemi, he is a top scarer and seeks to break the all-time scare record before his rival, James P. Sullivan. Randall is involved in a conspiracy with the CEO of Monsters, Inc., Henry Waternoose, and he uses his "Scream Extractor" against a little girl, Boo, in hopes of solving Monstropolis's energy crisis in exchange for prestige.
