What is this?

¿What is this? --Lukethehedgehog 13:17, January 16, 2011 (UTC)

It's a list of Avatar parts for Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. In case you didn't know, you can make avatars in Kingdom hearts Re:coded and use it for online interactions. The17Ultima Weapon Keychain KHBBS.pngMaster 13:25, January 16, 2011 (UTC)

...why doesn't someone just ask Shard or IZerox? KRCCFNF is tired of being STEPPED ON. 22:23, January 16, 2011 (UTC)

I hope it's possible to get the images directly out of the game files, that would be a lot less work. But browsing through the game files is not very easy: meaningless names, decrypting and unpacking every single file, problems with viewing the result. If everything goes well I should have some results this weekend. --ShardofTruth 21:33, January 19, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I found them and it's still a nightmare because every single picture is packed like three times and is splitted in three different pallets (color, graphic and cell) which has to be combinend and after all that still to be cutted.
Before I'm going to upload all this images, I have two questions:
  • Is the order, how the items are listed here the same, as the one in the Ultimania?
  • Should there be a standard image size (e.g. 64x64 px) because some images are really small. --ShardofTruth 11:25, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
I believe so, but I can check the image names after you upload them if you want.
Yes, a standard size would be good. I think Warrior of Light is the tallest, off the top of my head."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 15:18, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
Okay here the deal: I will make two version of every image. One that can displayed here in some sort of gallery without a problem and one where every image has the same size, so it's actually possible to play the whole dress up thing without the game. Maybe we could implement the second version in some sort of a very difficult tabber, but I don't think Wikia can do overlaying of images. --ShardofTruth 16:26, January 21, 2011 (UTC)

What do we want the background to look like? I was think black or just floating in the air. Not a white background. The floating in the air wouldn't have a white background if you put the image over the cover. Like File:DaysNamine.png yAgIogp.pngANX219 17:57, January 21, 2011 (UTC)

No. No no no no no. Transparent backgrounds."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 19:21, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
That's what I thought. Anyway, I have saved those images onto my flash drive so I will be able to cut them from the pictures. yAgIogp.pngANX219 19:59, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
Well I manage to get 30 images so far so from the Ultimaina and the sizes for them are not that small. hmm UnknownChaser 20:11, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
We don't want the ultimania images, though, since the gamerips will be much higher quality."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:53, January 21, 2011 (UTC)

Info Table

So the 908 images are ready and I would like to upload one part type after another. But there are still some questions regarding the table. Some but not all Japanese names can be found here. Anyway I will always compare to the Ultimania scan, where the parts have the same order as found in the game. There are two columns though, I can't make any sense of. The "genre" (ジャンル) and the one after that. What do they describe and is it important? Also I don't think we won't need to fill out some info on obtaining the pieces, because all but 8 of them are given by chance, with the first avatar has some connection to the player's name as far as I understand.

The non random parts are:

  • King Mickey's Hair - Get 2 trophies
  • King Mickey A's Shoes - Get 5 trophies
  • King Mickey A Outfit - Get 8 trophies
  • King Mickey's Tail - Get 12 trophies
  • King Mickey's Gloves - Get 16 trophies
  • King Mickey B's Shoes - Get 20 trophies
  • King Mickey B Outfit - Get 25 trophies
  • King Mickey Ears - Get 30 trophies

That's an example of what it could look like:

Buddies

No. Part Name Description
9 BlackRandomHeartless.png Bat Buddy XIII (フレンドⅩⅢバット?) Organization XIII bat thingie

Without the number this will get very confusing, so I will also put them in the filenames (like "Buddy-9-Bat Buddy XIII.png"). The colored background is needed because some parts are nearly pure white and wouldn't be recognized on the normal background. Oh, another thing: All Avatar parts are more pixelated than their mobile counterparts and I won't smooth any edge because that would hurt the art style.

So what do you think?--ShardofTruth 22:38, January 26, 2011 (UTC)

I've also been getting King Mickey A parts for 2, 5, 8, and 12 trophies.
If there's not an official description like with the Mobile items, then it probably isn't worth it to have the description column. Would it be easier on you to use this template? Or, would it do better to just have thin tables (2 columns, number+name and image), arranged in extratabular columns?
As for obtaining, I think that it would be best to just cover the few definite ones in prose, and summarize how to get all the others.
The file naming sounds fine. Don't worry about adding the nihongo to the table, unless you can do it easily - I'll clean up anything left behind.
Also, for the sake of my own sanity, please tell me that there is a Trickmaster costume somewhere. I'm going to have to hurt Nomura if he left the one direct coded/Mobile link out of the coded/Mobile mashup."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 00:52, January 27, 2011 (UTC)
I'm glad to inform you that your sanity is saved. Nomura was kindly enough to put in the costume ingame^^
I used the Mobile template to create something like this:
9 Bat Buddy XIII
BlackRandomHeartless.png
"Organization XIII bat thingie"
This look really neat but the problem are the names that will strech every box to a different size which will look not so good if it's done 908 times on one page.
I'm not really sure what you mean with extratabular columns, something like this?
6 7 8 9
Shadow Moogle Buddy Shadow Dawg Buddy Shadow Kat Buddy Bat Buddy XIII
BlackMoogle.png BlackDogKHM.png BlackCatKHM.png BlackRandomHeartless.png

--ShardofTruth 22:41, January 27, 2011 (UTC)

I meant having thin tables surrounded by the col-start, col-break, col-end tags."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 00:06, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

Hmm, that doesn't like that great too.

7

8

But I suck at making tables, maybe you could put some good coding in there. --ShardofTruth 22:49, January 28, 2011 (UTC)

The problem there is that the height of the columns would have to be made constant. We could either have multiple blank lines in one of the text cells (suggest number), or if you have created the images with constant backgrounds, that would work too."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:19, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

Adding nihongo

Can we basically just take the nihongo straight from the Ultimania? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 21:21, 10 February 2011 (EST)

Go ahead. I tried to put as much as I could on there in my last edit (before the anon started adding the dubs)."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 21:30, 10 February 2011 (EST)

Kryten, can you get the nihongo for the Geisha wig? [3] --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 01:04, 11 February 2011 (EST)

I could swear I already had, but it is 和装カツラ (Wasou Katsura - Japanese Wig)."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 12:14, 17 February 2011 (EST)

You sure? The second kanji looks different... --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 15:50, 7 March 2011 (EST)

Ensembles

It should be mentioned that Ensembles are merely shortcuts to set of parts, and not something you actually obtain through play."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 12:12, 17 February 2011 (EST)

How to obtain

Can someone please add an "how to obtain" thing to tell people how to unlock them? ~Archlight 10:45, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

  • You start off with several parts (which?) by default.
  • You get an Avatar Part for clearing the challenge on the non-decim floors of the Avatar Sector. Initially, you get any parts the avatar has that you do not. Once you get all of their parts, the reward becomes random.
  • You can get Avatar Parts for clearing the Character Hunts on Scratch Cards (check; I've never gotten them from Bonus Hunts). This part is totally random, and you may already have it.
  • You get the King Mickey A and King Mickey B pieces by collecting trophies. (2, 5, 8, 12, 16, 20, 25, 30, I think)

That's it, right?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:49, 24 February 2011 (EST)

Avatar Sector

I didn't keep track of which ones dropped which parts, so it would be somewhat difficult to recreate these, but there are 50 default avatars, as shown here. The floor challenge, number of trophies (look especially at the Organization trophy amounts), name, and quote are all references to the avatar. The last nine (first nine in the album) and UrTrueSelf were the ones that were generated randomly (as you can tell by them all having Goofy's mouth for some reason), and were obtained through long waiting, not the Wii trick."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 00:20, 16 February 2011 (EST)

Rare Scratch Card

Does somebody know why Scratch Cards with the worlds "Dive to Heart", "100 Acre Wood", "Disney Town" or "Hollow Bastion" are considered rare? I can't remember if the prizes were more special than the ones of the normal cards. --ShardofTruth 11:01, 28 February 2011 (EST)

I've only gotten 100 Acre Wood once, and none of the others, so I can't really say too much (are you sure it's Disney Town?), but it didn't have any special cards on it at all, and the prizes were pretty bleh."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:19, 28 February 2011 (EST)
Here is a overview of the background arts and a collection of the persons I encountered here:
allscratchcards.png
Sadly I had Olympus Coliseum only one time and somehow forgot to get a better image. By the way, itsn't it strange that although 100 Acre Wood is declared a rare Scratch Card by the game it doesn't have the rare logo? --ShardofTruth 16:53, 28 February 2011 (EST)
That's...awesome! How the hell do you get those?! Also, it looks like it renamed the ice creams, for whatever reason."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:26, 28 February 2011 (EST)

Default parts

I'm thinking of listing all the parts you start with - most of them seem to be unrandom, though I'll need somebody to compare their starting list to mine when I get them listed."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 02:17, 10 April 2011 (EDT)

I assume that all the starting parts always complete an essemble, but restarting the game until the Avatar Menu pops up always results in "Sora (Master Form)" for me. Possible some other factors determine the starting essemble like the date, the name or how long the game was played before entering Avatar Mode the first time. On my original playthrough "Seifer" was my first avatar. --ShardofTruth 17:48, 12 April 2011 (EDT)
I start off with Dissidia Cloud and Warrior of Light, and as far as I can tell, I get basic parts and random FF parts. I'll post a list tonight, if I can get my computer reformatted in time."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:06, 12 April 2011 (EDT)

My starting parts: Always the same for this file, seems determined at start of file creation.

  • All Bods, Lips, Peepers, All 8 Cowlick A and B, Typical Top, Basic Bottoms, Starter Shoes
  • 1 random ensemble
  • 1 random hair, feature, scars, coat, starter kit, top, bottom, shoe, hat, face/neck, mitt, rear gear, belt(?), item, buddy, bodysuit
    • Me and DTN both got Checkered Sash, so we need someone else to check what they get. It's probably random, though."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 01:45, 16 April 2011 (EDT)
