A Friend Card in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories summons a friend of Sora's to help him in a battle.

Friend Cards only appear in a battle and disappear once they are used or when the battle is over. As certain friends are world-specific - for example, Peter Pan is only in Neverland - certain Friend Cards are limited to only appearing in the world where the friend comes from.

Like all the rest of the cards used in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Friend Cards are numbered from 0 to 9 with the 0 numbered card given the ability to card-break any of the opponent's cards in play during a battle.

Additionally, like Attack Cards and Magic Cards, Friend Cards can be stacked/stocked up to three cards and the resulting in-play combinations can give way to new abilities. For example: Stacking and putting into play 2 or even 3 Goofy cards at once results in an ability of Goofy's called Goofy Tornado where Goofy whirls around and around all over the screen like a tornado, knocking enemies out. Goofy as a single card simply rushes at an enemy headlong (in Re:Chain of Memories, it is a shortened version of Goofy Tornado), and stocking up one Goofy card and one Attack card results in a Goofy Charge.

Gimick Card

The gimmick card is a special zero rank friend card that appears in some boss battles. It appears as a green card with a green Mickey Mouse crest on it. The effects of a gimmick card alter with the boss you are fighting, and disappear after a time limit or other actions. -Guard Armor: The Heartless collapses into a pile, allowing for easy attacks. -Trickmaster: A table and chair appears on the center of the screen, useful for attacking Trickmaster's main body. -Parasite Cage: The floating platforms disappear, and the stomach acid no longer deals damage. -Ursula: Ursula's tentacles go down, and her head lowers to ground level. -Jafar: All floor panels rise to the highest level. -Darkside Heartless: A broken piece of wood flies in, allowing you to fly up to Darkside's head for close-range attacks. -Oogie Boogie: The metal bars retreat into the floor. -Maleficent Dragon: A pile of stone blocks fall from the ceiling, used for reaching her head easier.
