A lot of the Geared weapons are palette swaps of another (not the + variation's, actual differently named weapons). Do the same gears always make palette swaps of each other, or is it different for each character? Can we start listing which weapons are palette swaps, like in the Keyblade articles, and if they are due to the same gears, cover it here?Glorious CHAOS! 16:56, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Apparently, no.

With gears:
  1. Move the gear articles to their new names, same method as in Forum:Days dubs.
  2. Move the image to the new names, copy images for gears with same appearance.
  3. Create redirects to basic name using the (x) name.
  4. Fix gear templates with new gear name, image, and weapon names.
  5. Rewrite gear articles with new name, image, and obtainment info.

Mystery Gear

The in-game description states the the appearance of the weapons reflects the user's personality. Maybe something worth mentioning here and on the fourteen topics about the Mystery Weapons?

Really? I'm only seeing the elements the user holds in the weapon. Like Saïx would be, obviously, the moon (Bunnymoon) and Xigbar, vaguely, space (Trumpet). The only examples I see the user's personality is probably Xaldin's, Xemnas' weapons... :\--光に、闇に、虚無。 00:45, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

They're both loud and obnoxious :D

Zero Gear

How does one obtain the zero gear, anyway? --ShadowsTwilight 13:26, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

You beat the game, then it's in the Moogle Shop for 30000HP. Does anyone know why my Zero Gear only yields Kingdom Key+ with both 1 and 3 Ability Units, and no Dual Wield?? Uppfinnarn (U/T) 13:27, November 8, 2009 (UTC)

Strange, it works on Mission Mode but not in Story Mode... Anyone knows why? Uppfinnarn (U/T) 14:10, November 8, 2009 (UTC)

Zero Gear only goes into Dual-Wield Roxas when equiped in Mission mode. 19:48, November 8, 2009 (UTC)

Pandora's Gear and Pandora's Gear+ are the same thing? Surely not! Although it would explain why Pandora's Gear is the only one I'm missing... It's kinda stupid, no? How can you have a Gear+ without the basic Gear?

Category: Eh?
You have to get every Secret Report, then buy it from the Moogle Shop.Glorious CHAOS! 09:56, October 25, 2009 (UTC)

TALK - Turn to Darkness!
I was wondering how to get the standard version. That little detail didn't show up in the guide book.

i have Pandora's Gear+, but not the normal one.

TALK - I have identified the scent. It is... LEXAEUS, THAT'S GROSS!!
Me neither, though I'm not planning on getting the normal one (how DO you get all of the Secret Reports?!)

Important Point

this applies to ALL gears-- the descriptions for each one changes depending on the organization member you equip it to. Skill Gear for example: for Roxas: "allows you to string together faster, longer ground combos"; for Xemnas: "performs well in midair". therefore, unless you're going to specify the character or list descriptions for each one, i suggest not having the description --Neumannz 16:35, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

Pandora's

I'm taking out the bit that says Pandora's Gear provides the Organization members' strongest weapon, since that claim seems to be totally unfounded. Unless someone can explain it to me? Zero Gear seems to me to provide stronger weapons in practically all cases. --Neumannz 17:20, May 6, 2010 (UTC)

Statistically Pandoras Gear+ provides the highest attack boost for the Org Members. Example, Twilight Blaze+ has a base attack stat of 125, while Oathkeeper&Oblivion has a base attack stat of 110. EDIT: Even for Non Org members (like Riku) Pandora's Gear+ STILL gives them the highest base attack stat. The Zero gear allows the character to equip their signature weapon is all, and it also grants them access to their best combos. --Evnyofdeath 21:34, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

It's still too subjective a rating. Not to mention the fact that for many of them it's only the attack stat that's higher, and sometimes only by one point, coupled with the fact that the units give a higher stat boost for Zero.

In most cases there's too much trouble in calling something "most powerful", especially when there's so much variation, like with weapons. I'm not even sure it's alright to say Ultima Weapon is the "most powerful" Keyblade, especially in BBS. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 23:04, October 12, 2010 (UTC)

Skill, Loaded, images, and navboxes

Do the skill and loaded panels really not have the border?

Also, for the images that are named the same, but are used to represent + panels, can we upload copies and use the correct names here?

Finally, would it be possible to put the navboxes back on the bottom of the page? I get why they're there, but they really break up the article.Glorious CHAOS! 18:59, May 6, 2010 (UTC)

They do have the border, but ShardofTruth uploaded the panels that had more than one slot, so we didn't get new ones for Skill 1 and Loaded 1. Right now what's there is the symbol, not the panel.
We can move the navboxes back, i suppose, but it means we need to add {{-}} for each section, or at least the ones with too many/too large pictures. --Neumannz 19:36, May 6, 2010 (UTC)

Help Me

Can someone please tell me which is the best gear that i should use in the game?--65.126.114.243 02:25, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

Depends on where you are. I tended to prefer the Nimble Gear until I got to the bosses near the end, since it combos well and keeps the enemy staggered in the air, but once you can make it, the Pandora's Gear+ is very good. Especially against the final bosses. After that, and for Mission Mode, Zero Gear is the best gear overall.Glorious CHAOS! 21:10, August 4, 2010 (UTC)

13 Reference

Here's an interesting piece of trivia. If one does not include Casual, Mystery, or Zero gears, the weapons granted by the remaining gears and the gearless weapons tally in at exactly 13 different shapes for every Organization character. Palette swaps count as one weapon shape. The only exceptions are Roxas/Xion who have 13 plus the Kingdom Key. Tzion 02:08, December 20, 2010 (UTC)

¿Is there any Gear you start the game with, or wich weapon you use while there aro no gears available? --Lukethehedgehog 21:58, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Keyblades

Should we attach the names of the resulting Keyblades to the Gears? For example, the Nimble Gear results in Leviathan as an actual Keyblade, Pandora Gear creates Omega Weapon, etc.
