Captain Gantu is an antagonist set to appear in the Lilo & Stitch-based world Deep Space in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Gantu is expected to serve the same purpose as his role in the Disney film and televeision series: to capture Experiment 626 after his failed attempt to banish him to an asteroid prison under orders of the Grand Councilwoman. Gantu will be a Boss in the upcoming game, one of the few boss fights playable for Aqua. The assistant for this boss battle is Stitch. It is unknown what becomes of Gantu after the fight, but it is believed that the outcome will again follow his role in the film, leading to the Captain's forced retirement.
Trivia
- Captain Gantu is second-in-command of Planet Turro, the main setting of the film's beginning, when Terra, Aqua, and Ven's visit to Deep Space is thought to take place. He serves only the Grand Councilwoman, whose appearance in Birth by Sleep is likely, but still unconfirmed.
- It is unknown if Gantu's voice actor, Kevin Michael Richardson, will return to voice him in the video game.
- Higher quality versions of recent scans that had confirmed Gantu's appearance in Birth by Sleep show that he wields a laser gun as in the movie, having 5 HP bars.
