Should it be noted that the Pride Lands is the only world that dosen't have any new areas on the second visit? Myself 123 23:46, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Future gamesEdit

Amy Cotton - Trust in yourself and you can archive anything.
TALK - You are better off talking to me here.
I hope this world gets onto future games, since this world is very popular to Kingdom Hearts fans around my school and other schools I went to. My friends like it, my cousin likes it, my friends' other friends likes it, even I like it. I spoke to 100 KH fans and when I asked them what world do you like best, most ansered the Pride Lands. Do you all think this world might be on a future game? Who knows, this world might be encluded by popularity like Axel lived longer due to popularity.

Welp, they should... After all, Simba was a staple in the game ever since Kingdom Hearts.

Helping others always comes before asking others for help. TroisNyxÉtienne

They HAVE to bring the Pride Lands back. The Lion King is Disney's greatest and best movie of all time, they can't make it just a one-shot world... Maybe they'll bring it back in Kingdom Hearts III with Zira as a villain? And maybe we could see the lion forms of Riku, Kairi and Lea... :P --88.195.19.59 00:07, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

DarknessEdit

Flashpenny - You'll wear the face of despair.
TALK - Where's the fun in this?
I recall putting that the Pride Lands is the only Disney-based world to get its Keyhole infected by the Heartless but it got removed. Let's face it, there's like a 99.99% chance that is correct because the skies turned an evil green color (the other .01% is that it was just a cloudy day which is unlikely because clouds aren't really green).

AbOhWn - I'd rather we just skip the formalities
TALK - Parley !
Yea but i thougt all some of the princess of heart(Cinderella, Snow White, Auora, and Belle) Lost their world to the darkness because of the keyhole.

Flashpenny - You'll wear the face of despair.
TALK - Where's the fun in this?
I think the darkness was beginning to seep in as a result of Scar's transformation into a Heartless, meaning that he was going to be a really powerful Heartless.

Eternal Nothingness XIII -   I'm not afraid of what the darkness holds now. Even if you do wrest control of my heart from me, even if you cast me into the deepest, darkest abyss, you'll never sway me from the one cause that pushes me to keep on fighting. Whatever the cost, I'm ready to pay it.

There has been quite the dispute about this World's true name. It is "Pride Lands" in the movie, but this is based on the game. It says "Pride Land", possibly a typo on Square's part...but renaming isn't possible to my knowledge. If we titled every appearance of "Pride Lands" ,er, "Pride Land" in articles, wouldn't we either have to recreate the article and slowly edit each appearance of the words...Scar, Simba, Groundshaker, etc.

Check the game, I checked today. The only time they call it "Pride Land" is in the logo, otherwise, it's Pride Lands. In the journal, in the areas, and on the gummi map. I already went and fixed everything and put it back to "Pride Lands", so there isn't anything that needs to be done.

KrytenKoro - "It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It's called living."
TALK - 03:18, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
This was discussed earlier, I believe on my talk page. The journal's are not entirely reliable for translations (Eleus, Breig), and while the area is called the "Pride Lands" in the movie, many place names changed between movie and game (The Land of Dragons, etc.). The journal is most prone to dubbing changes that go against the original intent, while the logo is exactly how Nomura designed it and wanted it to be. That the naming is purposeful is supported (1) by Lion King being Nomura's favorite movie, and thus not likely to be half-assed; (2) the katakana name leaves out the "s" - while the same is done with Space Paranoids and The Land of Dragons, the "s" was specifically added to the logos there, indicating purposefulness in leaving it out of Pride Land; (3) it is slightly more grammatically correct to call it a "Pride Land", rather than "Pride Lands", which would imply multiple territories belonging to various lion prides.

We used a similar policy of sticking to the logo for "The Land of Dragons", "The World That Never Was", and "The Radiant Garden".

I'm not sure what you mean by the gummi map and areas calling it "Pride Lands".

When you select the world on the gummi map, it says "Pride Lands". Every time you walk into a location, Pride Rock for example, it says "Pride Rock" with "Pride Lands" written right under it. Every single time the world is spoken of in the game, they use "Pride Lands". Calling it the "Pride Land" just seems weird, and I don't see why we should refer to it differently than how it is referred to during the game. One logo doesn't beat all of those reasons.

KrytenKoro - Most bears were content to live their lives, mauling and eating one, maybe two humans at most. "Mass-murder," as the bears always said, "is for the sharks." But not Barry. Barry was different. He knew that one day, he would kill ALL of the humans. This is the inspiring, tear-jerking story of one bear and the dream he dared to dream.
TALK -
In my Japanese KHIIFM, which displays the area names in English, it doesn't list the world name. The only English appearance of the world name is the logo, which calls it Pride Land - so I've got to think that the instances you named were dub insertions, and that "Pride Land", however, weird it may seem, is the name Nomura intended for it. If we must call it Pride Lands here and for the category, we should mention that "Pride Land" is the Japanese name for it, and I really would like it to stay "Pride Land" on the the infoboxes just to stick with the "logo name" standard we've been using. For example, all the other cases I mentioned (The Land of Dragons, The Radiant Garden, The World That Never Was) have the "the" left out of dialogue and journal entries, even though it's part of the logo and even the katakana, and I'm unsure of how to create a different standard for these.

TALK - What I do, I do for friendship. — 04:37, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
I concur, but the "the" is just added to the word due to grammar reasons. While you could say it as "Radiant Garden" or "World that Never Was", it is necessary to the Englsih language to add "the". It is not grammatically correct to leave these names as-is, as we are talking about the OBJECT. When someone says "Set this on the table," they say "the table," not "Set this on table."

lion king 2 simba's prideEdit

--74.222.105.181 16:22, February 22, 2010 (UTC)if the pride lands were to appear in the as-of-yet unannounced kingdom hearts game would the events of the pride lands be based the movie.

Who knows. Like what Amy said above, this world is popular, and since Simba is popular among fans, there is a 75% chance that this world would appear again. UxieLover1994 05:15, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

Easy Target?Edit

UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 09:40, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
710MS.png I remember that this world was taken over by the Heartless between the events of BbS and the first game, but since this world almost vanished again in KHII (with Sora and his friends in it), I beleve that this world was the second world to have been vanqueshed by Darkness (after Enchanted Dominion). Does anyone think this world is an easy target for the darkness to conquer, after this world was nearly destroyed in KHII?
Also, during the battle with Scar, the whole world is crumbling into Darkness, as seen in the background of the battle. I fought the now-Heartless/lion last night (I am now up to Space Paranoids), and whenever I could, I looked over at the background and saw a sea of Darkness waiting to conquer the world, along with islands of what is left of the world. titleEdit

The Japanese site says "Pride Land", even in the English text. The English site (though of traditionally lower quality) says "Pride Lands".

I guess this is enough to say that the world's name was changed from the Japanese game to English.Glorious CHAOS! 15:13, June 13, 2010 (UTC)

Update the logo image for KH2.5Edit

This is way late seeing how the game was released nearly a year and a half ago, but I found that the world's logo was updated to read "Pride Lands" in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, seen in both the Japanese (2:16) and English (2:23) versions. If anyone can get the logo from the game's files, I say now is as good a time as any to update it and stick the old "Pride Land" logo at the bottom as a bonus picture. 151.202.40.117 01:13, 9 February 2017 (UTC)

Overlook areaEdit

After the scene with Mufasa appearing to Simba, the Menu appears to switch in Simba. The scene, according to the menu, is in a place called Overlook. I don't know if, by hacking, it's explorable, but the area is named. Should this be added to the Locations and Areas section?  KeybladeSpyMaster   04:20, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

I vote yes. Unless this is renamed something else in a later [English] game. Case in point: The battle with Lingering Will in KHIIFM. Disney Castle doesn't mention it directly, but shows in the image the name "Gathering Place," whereas Lingering Will refers to the same area as the "Badlands." Xion4ever 02:13, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
Seconded. I believe there were other inaccessible areas in other worlds but were named, and we mentioned them in the settings and areas sections.--NinjaSheik 21:28, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Edit

In the 2.5 Releases, they changed "Pride Land" to "Pride Lands". Wouldn't that be better? --Yellowlightning1996 (talk) 14:30, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
