Forum:World Infobox Proposition

Something that I noticed about a couple of worlds in the game - specifically ones in KH3, is that they all have logos, but not all have icons. Currently, the infoboxes display the world icon first by default. For some worlds, like the Dark World, this means that they ultimately display nothing, or a screenshot. So I propose the infoboxes be very slightly reworked: Have the world logo displayed first by default, and the world icon to be clickable. --Samoa Joe (talk) 21:57, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
- I think a better option would be to make the template check if the logo and/or image exist, and only show them if they do. TheSilentHero 22:16, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
- Wouldn't that be inconsistent though? If that was the case, some would display the logo while others would display the icon. It'd be better if they all automatically display the one thing they have. It'd be more consistent. --Samoa Joe (talk) 15:20, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
- The only problem with that is that they don't always have logos. Dark World, for example, went a long time without a logo. An ifexists parser to check if either exists and only display the ones that exist might actually be easier, though that means we have to go back and remove all the current parameters in use on every world page.
- As it relates to Kingdom Hearts III, I'd wait until we get the Ultimania and/or Western-released strategy guide (if we get one by whoever). Those are, I believe, where we usually have gotten images for worlds that we don't have images for, as well as renders for everyone else. The other thing we can do is, right now, the world logo for each game, per the template code, is in an if-statement. The code basically assumes that there is always a world image and not always a world logo, and so it requires the world image, but the logo is optional. We could just wrap the world image in an if-statement as well. KeybladeSpyMaster 23:07, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
