Subspecies and variantsEdit

Could we organize this into a table specifying which are the default bosses, and which are their subspecies/event variants?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 16:29, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure how this would look like so I tabbed them for the time being. The Purple Gummi Hound uses one attack animation (and replaced the Subspecies) of the Behemoth during the 1st Anniversary event but looks extremly different, the same goes for the Lion Dance Headliner which even became an Emblem. Both the Fierce Queen Bee and its Subspecies only appear during the event, so this is a new development. The different colored Trident Anchors didn't appear during a specific event but during some campaigns and replaced the normal Raid Boss, not the Subspecies. Defining what an event is, is a hard task on its own since they are all very different and Square Enix doesn't use consitent terminology. --ShardofTruth 17:10, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm kinda thinking a three/four column table: Base, Subspecies, and then Base/Subspecies Event replacements, with the Event column listing the events that replace the boss. Do the base Raid Bosses cycle in a coherent order?
Can you describe the events and the Trident Anchor campaign? I'm very confused by this."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:38, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
How's this? TheSilentHero 17:36, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
If I've understood Shard correctly, the Venom Spider is a Subspecies, while the Fierce Queen Bee and Sub are both Event bosses. I'm thinking a full table might be better for keeping the images clearly organized, as well. Overall, though, that's about what I was thinking."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:40, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
The Venom Spider looks like a subspecies, but for some reason, isn't called one. For the Queen Bees, we can just put a note below the name specifying the event it appears in. (Which we should do for all Event bosses). The reason I used the gallery tags is so the images are the same size. TheSilentHero 17:53, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
The Venom Spider takes the place of the subspecies for the Vicious Spider and that's not event related in any way. Don't ask me why it's the only named one though. --ShardofTruth 18:13, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
I think it looks fine now SilentHero, will you move it to the page? --ShardofTruth 13:32, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Is there any way we can incorporate info on which bosses appear in events, or is that being left to the individual species pages to communicate?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 19:42, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Bump, plus an open request to list (somewhere) the items that Unchained claims each boss drops, and to clean up the Unchained section to use the official terms and more formal write-up."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 17:50, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
Personally I think it's fine with how vague it's written because it's also vague in the game too.
1. Summoning the Raid Boss: They changed the mechanics some weeks ago and nobody really knows how it works anymore. Before you had to defeat around 70 enemies as said on the page but now the number is somehow weighted with the AP you spent for the quest where the enemies appear. As also said on the page after quest 131 there is a chance a Subspecies (the Raid Bosses have exactly the same names as in [chi]) appears instead, which drops rarer loot. Event Raid Booses can typically only be summoned by defeating the last enemies needed for the summoning during the event quests. The event quests (like daily, weekly or permanent challenges) can be accessed in a special sub menu.
2. Which Raid Boss appears is dependent on the quests' number the last enemies needed for the summoning were defeated in. There are currently 450 quests and every 10-20 quest the Raid Boss changes.
3. The loot: You get munny, Lux and typically medals (exp, evolution or munny) or coins (Event Coins or Raid Coins). The coins have different names but essentially do the same thing: opening up the timed event boards (they work exactly like Avatar or Coliseum boards).
4. Here are some screenshots. I'm not sure why the Hocus Pocus isn't considered "Rare", maybe the changed it since Halloween was Unchained's first event.
5. When a Raid Boss is summoned it blocks the access to the latest story quest until it's defeated or the time is up. --ShardofTruth 20:15, 27 February 2016 (UTC)
In what ways does this differ from the KHX mechanics?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 04:02, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

English translationEdit

Apparently all Subspecies are simply called "Ω" now, the "Rare" tag is also replaced with "Omega". --ShardofTruth 13:48, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Sounds good."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 01:37, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
For that matter, we can do the same with the "(Name) Subspecies" names by making them "(Name) Ω"--Tailikku (talk) 01:38, 17 April 2016 (UTC)

Raid BossesEdit

Guys, do you think is possible add in where mission you can summon a boss, ecc...? I think will be usefull, and... how is possible summon he festival Raid Boss like Hocus Pocus in UCX?--189.39.241.193 11:58, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

We should add a prominent template linking people to the UCX wiki's coverage."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 12:27, 22 June 2016 (UTC)

Gummi Hound and Furious CakeEdit

I don't think these should still be listed as omega variations of the Behemoth and Fortress Crab."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:48, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Originally, these event variants were clearly "inspired" by a former normal Raid Boss, so there was never a boss that lacked this connection. In case of the Gummi Hound this would be the claw attack and in case of the cake the rocket attack, both of them somewhat resemble the attacks of their supposed normal pendants. But I can see where you are coming from, so we could move them further down the list. --ShardofTruth 21:16, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
Can we move Assault Dragon down too? Or have a row just for unique event bosses?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 16:16, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
I personally thought the Assault Dragon looked like a variation of the Gummi Hound. However, I think it might be better to replace the current table with a table that shows attributes, like on the Unchained wiki. Maybe something like this:
Raid Boss Attributes

Darkside
Main:
Parts:

Darkside Ω
Main:
Parts:

Thoughts? TheSilentHero 18:19, 21 February 2017 (UTC)

That would be helpful (probably smaller tho), but I do think it's important to retain a link between the Boss and Boss Omega variants, since those are mechanically linked in-game. The various event bosses (barring those with Omega variations, like Queen Bee), could definitely be separated, though, as that's not communicating any in-game effect and is just another way of doing what we already do through the infoboxes."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 19:18, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
How about this? TheSilentHero 19:22, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Raid Boss Attributes Ω Raid Boss Attributes

Darkside
Main:
Parts:

Darkside Ω
Main:
Parts:
Looks great."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 15:13, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Summon numberEdit

Pressed the wrong button, so edit saved before I could finish my edit comment. Anyway, I don't think there ever was a set amount of Heartless needed to summon a Raid Boss. There must have been some sort of hidden stat or multiplier involved. I could always summon a raid boss by beating the Proud+ Omega Behemoth (with some raid perks) and I only needed one (sometimes 2, depending on the Heartless) after that to summon a raid boss.
