Cute Little Icon

Here's that cute little top page icon you guys love so much: 2e37a13.png

II.5 ReMIX

Well, with this new logo, we can clearly see that it's the numeral II, not the number 2, which means HD 1.5 ReMIX is also I.5 ReMIX. Shouldn't they be moved to those names? (Kingdom Hearts I.5/ II.5 HD ReMIX) - MateusinhoEX

MEX, ...simply look at the bottom of the Japanese logo, do you see II.5 or 2.5? Same goes to 1.5Pea14733 ---- [闇] 13:56, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

I think we should at least write "stylized Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX". TheFifteenthMember 15:18, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
That I would agree with. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 15:54, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

that's not the right reason exactly. it's important to note that katakana aids often use arabic numerals when the display title calls for a roman numeral... final fantasy is one of the biggest exceptions. here, square enix explicitly prints "2.5" just about everywhere besides the logo, in every language, regardless of whatever else. that is why "II.5" is a stylization. it's silly--that's inconsistent branding for multiple reasons--but it's what they did, so... 75.177.119.25 21:47, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Should we put down the obvious changes to the games, such as KHIIFM and BBSFM remastered in HD, Playstation 3 Trophy Support, etc... like in the 1.5 page, or wait until they are officially detailed?
Wait until it's officially supported. I believe that's what we did on the 1.5 and 3 articles.  ColdAsFire

Iago

Are we sure we want to keep the information about this? While it's most likely to be 2.5, it's possible the "upcoming Kingdom Hearts video game" refers to KH3. The statement is ambiguous and considering the little tidbit of information didn't add anything substantial to the article anyway, I think it's best to have it removed. TheFifteenthMember 22:50, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

I concur. Although entirely reasonable/plausible, I always thought our policy was to never add unless there was clear confirmation/proof. Xion4ever 02:33, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
I'd comment it out. There's a good amount of reason to assume it's HD 2.5 ReMIX, but to avoid any problems, we could just comment it out, and restore it if he really did mean HD 2.5 ReMIX.  KeybladeSpyMaster   02:42, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

You might want to restore that info. Supposedly, Square Enix has confirmed that the voicing was for HD 2.5 ReMIX, to quell any suspicion/rumors that it's for Kingdom Hearts III. There just isn't a full on press release or anything, just several websites claiming that it's confirmed for that. Square Enix's move makes sense: for sure, it's either HD 2.5 ReMIX or III. Better claim it's for HD 2.5 ReMIX than confirm something that's too early to confirm. Playstation Universe and there's one on Examiner.com, but I can't link it (The text you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter.)  KeybladeSpyMaster   17:27, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Even still, I don't think that information is even worth mentioning on the article anyway since it barely reflects upon the "Development" of the game. I'm going to leave it out but I have no objection to anyone else reverting my change. TheFifteenthMember 18:15, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
I think it is, since we kept the tweet from Jesse McCartney regarding HD 1.5 ReMIX from January 2013  KeybladeSpyMaster   23:12, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Did Jesse confirm/specifically say HD 1.5 ReMIX, or was it "the upcoming Kingdom Hearts game." That's what we're getting at. There are two Kingdom Hearts games currently in development...for real, this time. Trailers, media, etc. have been released for both games. In Iago's case, the screenshot it so vague we can't completely prove it's for HD 2.5 or KHIII. Xion4ever 01:37, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Mirage Arena

Wasn't it said in the Square Enix E3 live thing on youtube that there will be no online multiplayer? i am not sure if i should add to the article. Opinions? Blitzmord (talk) 08:18, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

This is from the Square Enix Presents: E3 2014 Live Day 1 youtube video. It is somewhere after here. don't have time to check right now. http://youtu.be/zMayL01TQWY sorry if i did that wrong, i am new here. Blitzmord (talk) 08:23, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

You're fine as far as how to edit here. If you have any more questions, ask me on my talk page. As for the information, I've been thinking about adding it, but I'm not sure how to phrase it out, or where it belongs. I think it would be on the Mirage Arena's page, rather than on this page. I don't know for sure, though. Thoughts from anyone else?  KeybladeSpyMaster   15:05, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
EDIT: I added it in now.  KeybladeSpyMaster   17:03, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Minor thing

Just a minor thing I'd rather discuss on the talk page than get into an edit war over:

"...the Kingdom Hearts Re:coded cutscenes (two of which were completely new) extended to three hours..."

  • This doesn't make sense. As read out, it seems to say two cutscenes were completely new, when "two" actually refers to the hours. There are three hours of cutscenes, two of which are completely new and unseen. That's why it should be "the Kingdom Hearts Re:coded cutscenes extended to three hours (two of which are completely new)..." Also, maybe we should remove the parentheses? They're easily replaced with a comma. I was the one who originally put the parentheses there, and now they seem unprofessional there. But that's not the issue, so it doesn't matter.

"...the Mirage Arena in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix would not have multiplayer capabilities through PlayStation Network..."

  • This makes sense grammatically. My deal is in the fact that, increasingly, it seems Tai Yasue didn't mean there wouldn't be online multiplayer capabilities, it seems he meant there wouldn't be multiplayer capabilities at all. When I first wrote it, I based myself on what Kingdom Hearts Insider had written. I hadn't watched the video yet. But in interviews since Square Enix Presents Day 1, he seems to be saying there wouldn't be any multiplayer capabilities at all. He never mentions the PlayStation Network, nor does he mention that you can still play with your friends on the same system. He says it's been tweaked to be better in solo mode.

If the "two hours" refers to two hours of new cutscenes (rather than two new cutscenes, as I read it), please change this back. As far as the Mirage Arena thing, delete the bit about PlayStation Network. There's no multiplayer at all in KHHD2, so to say "through PlayStation Network" would be misleading.

How about this? In an interview during E3 2014 on June 10, 2014, Tai Yasue said that the development of the compilation was far easier than the development of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. Yasue continued, commenting on some of the game's features: the Kingdom Hearts Re:coded cutscenes have been extended to a total time of three hours, two of which are completely new, and the Mirage Arena in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix will not have multiplayer capabilities.

Citations

Reeeeeeeaally don't like that we're citing youtube for anything but official promotional videos."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 21:33, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Is there another way to source this? I wanted to use something more official too, but Square doesn't exactly have its own youtube channel. Would our be better to use the scene from the Re:coded movie, or do you have another idea?  Chainoffire  23:11, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
I would think a storylink would be fine, if I understand what we're claiming correctly."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 00:20, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Undocumented Changes

None of the final mix guides I'm reading are giving me correct information. Chests all have different items, and specifically right now I'm fighting Vexen's Absent Silhouette (not the data rematch) and he's using moves that aren't listed or mentioned at all. He's using his crazy data desperation move where he surrounds himself with ice cubes once he hits 5 on the data gauge. He freezes (like the beginning move) me and uses this GIANT icicle (covers half the zone) that one hits me and is unavoidable. Why are none of these changes documented anywhere? Even 2.5 specific guides on some sites are wrong, like people just assumed it was a clone of FM. Whats going on? --Amantis (talk) 10:13, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Can you please clarify which chests are different? I used my KH2 guide to play KH2FM, and it didn't get me any incorrect chests that I can remember. As for Vexen, is there any chance you could take a cellphone video so we know which move you're talking about?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 16:08, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
