Roxas is a boss in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix at The World That Never Was.
Strategies
Attacks
- Whirlwind swing: Roxas twirls his Keyblades in a wide cross-circle, after yelling "Hup!" and audibly charging his Keyblades. Sora can either move closer and cast Reflect or use Guard to counter the technique, or use Dodge Roll or a jump to dodge it.
- Continuous swing: Sora can cast Reflect or use Guard to counter the technique's finisher, leaving Roxas open for a combo.
- Instant landing: Roxas jumps in the air and rolls mid-air before quickly landing on the ground. Sora can prevent the technique from triggering by avoiding use of his second finisher, or quickly casting Reflect once it is used.
- Aerial rotation swing: Roxas closes in on Sora very quickly by jumping in the air and barrel rolling, then flinging himself to the ground.
- Duel attack: A variation of the Samurai's Duel Stance. If Sora wins the duel, Sora will knock Roxas away and steal his Keyblades temporarily.
- Spot beam: Summons pillars of light topped with the Nobody emblem, casting eight of them ahead of him, then dashing forward and sending the last where he just stood.
- Instant recapture attack: Roxas surrounds Sora with beams of light to regain his stolen Keyblades.
- Aerial rotation swing: Similar to "Instant landing".
- Keyblade throw: Roxas sends his Keyblades spinning toward Sora.
- Dark power: Roxas teleports twice, throwing his Keyblades at Sora each time, then performs a flurry of slashes before sending out a sphere of energy around himself, drawing Sora in if near.
- Arranged beam: Enhanced version of his spot beam; a wall of light beams.
- Enhanced whirlwind swing: Roxas summons his light beams around him as he charges the attack, and sends the beams flying to all directions as he releases the attack. The technique can be dodged, or countered with Reflect.
- Enhanced dark power: Roxas teleports five times, throwing his Keyblades at Sora each time, then performs a flurry of slashes before sending out a sphere of energy around himself, drawing Sora in if near.
- Magic Hour: Roxas's Limit Break. Roxas summons light beams as a sort of shield and rises into the air, glowing with energy, then releases energy to summon a field similar to the one in which Sora opens the Gates. He'll shout "Come on!", then summon pairs of Light Orbs as he twirls both of his Keyblades to send out homing energy projectiles at Sora. This technique can be dodged by moving quickly around the edges of the battlefield.
Dark City
The battle will always start out with Sora within his attack range. Just as the battle commences, Roxas will immediately use his whirlwind swing. Roxas will then run behind Sora and use his aerial rotation, whirlwind, or continuous swings. Roxas will counter Sora's second finisher attack with his instant landing. Roxas will also often use his aerial rotation swing. Roxas may use his duel attack, and if Sora wins, Roxas will start using his spot beam and instant recapture attacks against Sora. Sora can use the Reversal reaction command to avoid damage, but if he fails then Roxas will knock Sora away with his Keyblade. Depending on the number of hits in your combo and if Roxas was first hit with Reflect, he will counter Sora's first combo finisher instead.
After a quarter of his health is gone, he will get even more aggressive. He will stop using his duel attack, and begin using his spot beam even more often, along with his continuous swing combo. He will also begin attacking with keyblade throws and a dark power technique, which finishes with his dark power finisher. Roxas will also use an enhanced version of his aerial rotation swing, accompanied by his arranged beam. As usual, he leaps around and closes in on Sora, but at the same time summons pillars of light to maximize his range of attack, making it even harder for Sora to dodge.
Once he is down to 40% of his HP, Roxas will use his "Magic Hour" limit break. He will also start to launch his spot beam while running around. Roxas will also use an enhanced version of his whirlwind swing, or his dark power.
Replica Data
In the data rematch, use Dodge Roll, Reflect, Guard and melee attacks to your full ability—Roxas will use his light shields more often. His health has also greatly increased, making the fight more dangerous. The best strategy is to use the Duel Stance Reaction Command whenever possible and steal his Keyblades. Once you have them, hit Roxas with everything you got! But so long as the player heals periodically, Roxas will fall with ease.
