Featured articles, for the time being, are currently nominated and voted on by staff members. However, if you would like to assist us in improving nominated or discussed articles, any editor is certainly welcome give us a hand in our wiki's continuing improvement. Thanks!
After a primary category of article has an article chosen to be the Featured Article, any other articles within this category cannot be nominated again for two months.
To accurately select an article that editors can review for detail to the very last word, phrasing, and format, all voting users must have 200 edits in the mainspace.
Articles can never be renominated after being chosen.
In the event of a tie, the former nominated article shall be featured first, and the latter nominated article shall be featured the following month. All voting restrictions for that month will roll over to the following month.
On the final day of the month, a staff member will close the voting, and voting for the next month shall begin.
Please provide reasoning as to why you think an article is fit to be featured--remember, by featuring an article, you are presenting an article that represents the best work of its category. Whatever is nominated should be a model article for others that are similar to it.
Also try to provide variety in your nomination--our goal is to balance out the "demographic" of articles above, not add more character articles.
UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 03:28, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Hm? We want to spread out the articles. We've gone with the Gullwings in May, Space Paranoids in June, and Arpeggio in July. I suppose one of the five Atlantica songs for August?
EDIT: I suggest either Part of Your World or Under the Sea. If you ask me, pick the latter. Pro: It's also the background music in the first game, plus it's got more data in it than the other. Con: The image needs to be replaced.
Eternal Nothingness XIII - I'm not afraid of what the darkness holds now. Even if you do wrest control of my heart from me, even if you cast me into the deepest, darkest abyss, you'll never sway me from the one cause that pushes me to keep on fighting. Whatever the cost, I'm ready to pay it. TALK - There's darkness within me... So what does that matter? I know I'm strong enough to hold it back. — 17:14, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
I'd actually like to nominate Marluxia. I spent a great deal of time earlier this summer revising the article, and I think it now stands as an example of what a quality article should be:
Pictures, Pictures, PICTURES
Free of grammatical errors
Decent length/informative
It's been two months since we've featured a character article, and even longer since that character has been from Organization XIII. Marluxia's a friggen final boss who serves as the definition of androgynous epicness, and he's not a featured article? COME ON!
UxieLover1994 Cuando la vida te da las herramientas, a construir motos libración — 17:19, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
I understand why you request this character, but don't forget that we want to balance out the featured articles. It cannot always be a character, you know. This is why I nominated two songs this time.
I know I picked the last two month's winners, but next month, our featured article should be Tron. He turns 30 next month, much like how I turn 18 today. I know, I know. Put the stuff about Space Paranoids aside for now, but his article is well-written and the issues with Rinzler are now cleared. It's okay if something else is chosen, but I just wanted to do something to mark 30 years since the original film, you know. Never mind. Tron's been nominated for the Featured Media as both himself and as Rinzler
LightRoxas - "You shoot him, I shoot you, I leave both your bodies here and go out for a late night snack. I'm thinking maybe pancakes." TALK - "I don't like feeling like Team Chuck's little fat kid!"
I'm sorry Uxie, but we really need to hold off on Tron. Even if it is his birthday in July, we've just done Space Paranoids, and it hasn't been long since we've had a character as our Featured Article. We really try to keep diversity for these, and choosing two articles from the same movie for consecutive months does not accomplish that.
But I digress; this month, I would like to nominate Soul Eater. It has been a while since we featured a weapon article, and Soul Eater is quite expansive. I did a grammar check on it earlier today, so it should be all set for featured status.
UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 05:35, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
I understand. I knew you'd say "no", anyway. But I'm not going to agree on Soul Eater. I'd prefer Kingdom Key D. Pulled. See below.
The two weapon articles we have used have been Keyblades. How about we spice it up with some ally weapons, guys? There's at least twelve members of Organization XIII to choose from, as well as Donald, Goofy, Aladdin, and the others.--Xion4ever 12:33, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Not Identity Disk at this stage, due the the recent release of Dream Drop Distance. I'm pulling my two nominations from above and going to nominate the Mage's Staff (Donald's signiture staff) and the Knight's Shield (Goofy's signiture shield). Which one I would pick? I cannot make up my mind, which explains why I picked both. So let's choose between what we got so far.
...I'm surprised no one nominated a joke weapon, such as the Dryer. Xigbar with a dryer? Pfft, as if. Anyways, all three articles don't seem to be missing any information...So, it's straight up to the votes now. So far it's one for each article.--Xion4ever 23:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
I'll put my vote towards Arpeggio. LightRoxas 14:33, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Well, we've got three nominations, of whom only one of them managed to get a vote from someone other than the suggestor. Let's go with Arpeggio.
June 2012
UxieLover1994 Cuando la vida te da las herramientas, a construir motos libración — 06:30, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, last month I said that I want to nominate an article relating to Space Paranoids or The Grid. Here is why: Space Paranoids is my favorite world, and June 1st will be very special for me, as it will be my 18th Birthday, and it'll be even more special if something relating to that world is selected (I'll bypass The Grid for now, since DDD's just been released over a month ago.)
I would have added the Light Cycle and Data Form as well, if it were not for The Grid. I recomend the first of these, since we don't want to overdo the character articles. Besides, it's been awhile since we last selected a Disney world as the FA.
It's okay if you choose another article for June. Though this will be a very special month for me. Sorry if I sound a little selfish.
LightRoxas - "I fight for the Users!" TALK - "I'm also better than you!"
Considering it has been so long since we've done a Disney world (or any world, for that matter), Space Paranoids seems like a good choice. Regardless of any of your personal reasons, it's a fairly expansive, well-written article as well, so I'm game for it.
Thanks LR! My dice is rolling for Cloud Spires Space Paranoids, regardless of whether or not something special is about to happen...
Guys, before you nominate an article make sure that article is ready. The point of Featured Articles is to show articles that are amazing, well written, complete, graphic, and the like. This isn't a place were you nominate any article and say "I want this one because I like it!" or "This article is cool because it has my favorite word in it!" Quality will prevail every time; a worthy article will be choosen every month. Just because five users on this end agree on one article, doesn't necessarily mean that article will become the Featured Article. </Unqualified article(s) nominated>
That said, Space Paranoids was a finished article, but not 100% ready. There were minor grammar errors, some poorly written sentences, pieces of the story left out, and even misinformation. You can't just blindly nominate articles before looking at them. If you aren't sure of an article's status ask someone- be it on here, a user talk page, or even the respective article's talk page. And, say you want to nominate an article that isn't complete: you can do so, just be sure to put some work in it if you seriously want it to get other votes. So, just pay more attention and all that.
Anyways, I've made a couple of edits on the Space Paranoids page, while I wouldn't say the edits make it Featured Article worthy, I was able to help the flow of the section a bit better, as well as removing the previously listed problems. I am content with Space Paranoids, and can handle it being June's Featured Article.--Xion4ever 16:04, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
For the record, I did do a quick overview of the article before voting - in fact, I always make sure to do a quick scan of a nominated article, to be sure it has no stubs or notices on top. That being said, at the time of this voting I was quite busy, and didn't really have the time to do an actual read of the article. I apologize, as the FA has kind of become my unofficial responsibility as of late, and I promise I will be more careful going forward. In the mean time, thanks yet again for your help, Xion. LightRoxas 17:23, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
Well, since I want to nominate Space Paranoids, The Grid, or something else involving one of the two worlds, for June (I'll explain why at the next voting), I think we should nominate a Final Fantasy character. I suggest the Gullwings?
Gullwings looks fine to me. That, and I'm a sucker for their pitiful, yet amusing quotes. xD Other thoughts?--Xion4ever 20:59, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
I donut mind the Gullwings. Erry 06:14, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
I personally cannot stand the Gullwings, but that has little to do with whether the article is up to snuff. Sounds like a good Featured Article. LightRoxas 20:47, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
While I could easily go all Grammar Nazi on it, this is the perfect example of a quality article! - EternalNothingnessXIII 20:53, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
Alright, I'm gonna write up the summary. LightRoxas 19:37, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
April 2012
LightRoxas - "It was the sound of books... pages being turned. So, that's just what I was doing, just reading, uh... books. So not a moron." TALK - "Apparently when you scream at a marshmallow, all you get is a scared marshmallow."
This month all of us are gonna be pretty busy with the merge, so I doubt we'll have sufficient time to work on Boss Music and get it completed. So while you are merging, keep on the lookout for any articles that stand out as worthy of being featured. Good luck.
UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 05:38, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
I'm to do a little extra work on Under the Sea and find a better image for that page for it to become the next Featured Article. Otherwise, it's Aquatos opps, Atlantica.
White Atlantica is a formidable opponent, I'm nominating Piano Collections Kingdom Hearts Field & Battle just because music hasn't been a featured article. Even if this specific article isn't chosen, I still say we follow a merchandise theme just to bring in some diversity. As for Field & Battle, I can't imagine too much is missing since the music articles are generally shorter than others. Ergo, I say Field & Battle.
I will write up a summary for Piano Collections. Since I'm leaving on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic tonight, I will have everything prepared. On April 1st someone else will need to post the link to the Main Page, but otherwise we'll be set.
EDIT 19:14, 27 March 2012 (UTC): The summary is here: clickitty clack!
Alrighty then. So, everyone is in agreeance? Field and Battle sounds good for April? So far I see at least two in agreeance [myself and Erry], and maybe Light Roxas? Since they made the summary and all...--Xion4ever 22:07, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Alright, so who's got some ideas for this month's article? I'd say we should aim for one of the categories that has only one article. BirthBySleepExpert suggested Realm of Darkness(in addition to a couple character articles we should avoid for now), but that has a bunch of issues with it so...
I'm gonna go ahead and nominate Boss Music. We've barely featured any real-world articles, and this is a very expansive list that many people may be interested in. Anyways, I'm gonna shut up now...
Yes, we should stick with Boss Music for March. But should we also suggest a world for next month. With the exeption of 100 Acre Wood, all our preveous worlds were main-baised, and not a Disney-baised.
EDIT: After a little soul serching, and going through some of the pages in this wiki, I found the page that should be the featured article for March: Under the Sea. Just replace the image, re-write it to present tence (this is NOT the Ratchet Wiki) and perfect!
How about Vanitas Renmants' theme, Enter the Void?
I'm actually rewriting the Boss Music page and could use a lot of help. If anyone wants to edit, then go here.
LightRoxas - "You shoot him, I shoot you, I leave both your bodies here and go out for a late night snack. I'm thinking maybe pancakes." TALK - "I don't like feeling like Team Chuck's little fat kid!"
We haven't yet finished the revision of Boss Music, and Under the Sea needs a citation for its opening paragraph, not to mention that it doesn't really have enough text to give much of a preview on the main page. I would like to nominate Ansem, Seeker of Darkness for Featured Article, since Boss Music won't get done and isn't exactly high priority until the merge is complete. I know that up until now we've been avoiding original characters, but we've gone one and a half years without one, so I think it'll be alright. Thoughts?
Again, Disney Characters haven't been featured in a while, and these three articles are all of good quality. I favor the former two over the latter; Maleficent is a very expansive article, and I've always loved Tron. Also, both characters seem to appear in KH3D, so it's a good choice either way.
Cinderella's personality section is a stub. I say Maleficent, because her article has so much more content in it than Tron (though both are equally complete).
UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 17:50, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
I thought we cannot nominate these three until March? Anyway, I was going to save this for June, but let's hope Tron will get this prize for February, otherwise I nominate Port Royal.
Can you give us a more clear response, Uxie? Are you voting for Tron, or nominating Port Royal? man editing on a 3DS is hard... LightRoxas 18:38, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Well, I'll save Port Royal for later. I'm picking Tron. Let's hope he gets it this time, since he is one of only two Disney characters to be both an ally and an enemy of Sora (with the other being Iago). See below. UxieLover1994 04:20, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Maleficent. Tron's "Other appearances" needs a citation. UNACCEPTABLE. Chitalian8 04:28, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Might as well change my vote to Port Royal, since Tron is currently disbuted. How about he just hold him for the next three months, just to avoid controversy over his role in KH3D.
Cinderella = 0
Maleficent = 4 - most likely winner of the month. Yuck!
Port Royal = 0
I'm still rooting for Maleficent. Erry 04:40, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Might as well let her win this round. I'll just hold on to my votes for now. *Changes vote to Maleficent* I'll hold onto my nominations for after KH3D's release. Sorry if I sound rude; it's this stuped hot weather that's driving me crazy! UxieLover1994 04:45, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Yes, Maleficent is surely the better, more expansive article of the two. It makes since to choose her, since we really can't be certain Rinzler will appear in the game, or whether he is Tron. LightRoxas 16:01, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
LightRoxas - "You shoot him, I shoot you, I leave both your bodies here and go out for a late night snack. I'm thinking maybe pancakes." TALK - "I don't like feeling like Team Chuck's little fat kid!"
Okay, so we really need the community to get involved in the Featured Article. Nearly no one votes here, and I'm almost always the only one paying attention here. According to the rules, I'm not even supposed to be here, but if I weren't this place would die.
Rant aside, this month I'd like to get a Disney character as our FA, seeing as it has been quite a while since we featured one. Any suggestions?
Okay, so I asked Kryten if there was anything I needed to change about the Battle of the 1000 Heartless article, and he never responded. Nevertheless, I nominate that article and will make any necessary changes once I know what they are.
Sounds great. LightRoxas 02:25, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
These are probably enough; we should decide among these. I personally gravitate towards Tron, as although Battle of the 1000 Heartless is a great pick, we've featured a lot of gameplay elements/situations within the last few months. It'd be nice to have a few more characters to help diversify a bit, and in a month or two we could do Battle. That's just my $0.02 though.

I think that the Battle is a good article, we haven't ever really done an event before. We've done plenty of characters, so I'd say we give it to something new. Sorry to say that your vote still doesn't count, LightRoxas.
UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 05:30, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Let's see...
So far, Tron has got two votes, while the Battle of the 1000 Heartless has got three. I agree with you LR; time to pick a character, as gameplay stuff (including Sora's Santa Form) have been the winners for awhile. The reason why I picked Tron is because most characters featured so far have been major characters, and the other two characters that Erry suggested are major characters. Besides, I'd like to see at least one world-baised party member get a chance.
Does anyone agree?
Pea14733Knowing it in your head doesn't mean much if you don't act on it.— 05:46, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Make that 2 for Tron, 4 for the Battle of the 1000 Heartless. I'd rather the former, as we've not focused on a character in ages.
A better way to settle this is that maybe Tron could do January, then Battle of the 1000 Heartless in February, or vise versa. Currently, the latter's got the upper hand, but who knows. Both have gotten my vote, but gameplay stuff has been featured for far too long. Too bad we cannot do both in the same month...
Pea14733Enjoy every moment with all ya got— 06:51, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Uxie, the Battle isn't exactly "Gameplay Element". It is an "Event" in the game/storyline. Which has never been featured before.
UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 08:43, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Hey, it's not me that's in charge of the Featured Article. And I kinda get mixed up with some things. I actually suport the battle, btw.
LightRoxas - "I'm proud to be a small part of something bigger - the people it did choose. TALK - "I am who I am, because of them."
A good point to make is that, as AI has stated, Battle of the 1000 Heartless has a glaring stamp on it signifying it needs work. Unfortunately, the reasons for the stamp are unknown. As If! tried contacting Kryten about it but has gotten no response. I scanned the article and didn't see any problems, but until we know for sure there's not much we can do.
I am well aware that, per the rules, I am not supposed to be nominating or voting. However, I'm not just gonna leave for two reasons: This place has had next to zero activity up til now, and I want to make sure the excellent input these editors are giving stays. Secondly, the last three consecutive FAs have been nominated by me, so I'm not just gonna leave. Consider my votes unofficial, if you must, but I think I at least bring up a few good points.
UxieLover1994 Cuando la vida te da las herramientas, a construir motos libración — 05:58, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
Understandable. Excluding you: Tron = 1, Battle of the 1000 Heartless = 4. We better work on the latter before New Years if it's to become the next FA, otherwise the former gets it, despite only one vote.
"Well, I can tell you are." — 03:50, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Jumping in to say I'm voting for Battle. I'll look it over for some minor changes, but I don't have time for major edits, sorry. Even if we don't work on it that much before the end of the month, it's not that bad, and I think it should still win it... :/
UxieLover1994 Tiempo de morder de nuevo con el poder! El tema de hoy: su sorpresa! — 05:48, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. I suppose I could nominate Tron, once we're closer to a certain month. Let the battle come! :)
Not sure about other staff members, but I don't necessarily see a problem with you guys posting your opinions on this. This is just a vote for proposed featured articles, afterall. A vote, not an ultimate, binding decision. Besides, staff members are in charge of actually choosing the featured article and making the changes (main page, archives, etc.). Everyone who votes on this matter hopefully works on the Wiki to create such noteworthy [featured] articles. If there's a specific article that makes you say "Wow, this is really good!" then you should have the right to propose it for featured articles. Simply put, you helped make awesome articles, you deserve to voice your opinion on which ones should be featured. Whether it actually becomes a featured article is moot, though.
That being said, I say Maleficent or Tron, though I line more with Maleficent. Tron's article is good, and I'm always a sucker for Sci-Fi movies, but Maleficent...just look at the article! The page is well written, organized, and is full of information. Oh, and did I mention it's a dragon? Leave your identity disk at home, Tron, this dragon will use it as a toothpick. Or maybe as a shield against magical swords?--Xion4ever 15:00, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, but the prize goes to the Battle of the 1,000 Heartless. The only way for your vote to get it is that everyone else voted. Besides, you'll be immediently de-rezzed if you don't have your Identity Disk with you. That's a rule. ;) UxieLover1994 16:03, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
