So, DE and I discussed it on the IRC, and we realized that no one's really figured out who'll be "staffing" the merge process. Below is our list of ideas. Whether any of these remain permanent or not should be discussed later.

Kryten explicitly expressed that he wished not to become a 'crat. Although, if we want 2 'crats from each former site, I can't really think of anyone else who would fit the bill.

When you say "staffing the merge", does this mean staff members in charge of making sure the merge goes smoothly, or are these the permanent staff after the merge is finished?

Not sure where I fall on this. It is for the following that I personally won't add my name to the list. Although inactive, I do stop by occasionally and do some editing. However, I am most definitely not as active both IRC, and editing/Wiki wise as a staff member should be. I know I probably won't be able to participate with the merging as much either. So, you guys decide. I'm all for staying as an admin, moderator, etc. if you guys see it fit. If not, I understand. Regardless, I respect the decision. Thanks.--Xion4ever 00:11, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
I very much agree with the majority of this list, especially the positions of T_I and As If and promotion of Erry. That being said, do we know that all the people on the staff list are planning on being over here and not just sticking at the fansite?
Oh, and yeah, Kryten doesn't wanna be a 'crat (as already stated), but I think he definitely fits the job well.
As for Xion, that's the tough battle we have, and that really includes Lego and ENX as well. They still contribute and help us out a lot, but aren't always entirely as active as they want to be, or for that matter, as several others on this list. By keeping them on staff, it becomes almost too big... so that's a difficult decision we need to make..

My opinion on this still has not changed:
I see no reason to have so many b-crats. They're just extra administrators with the ability to promote new mods/admins as necessary. I still like my idea of taking one from each Wiki better than having five or six.
For those so adamant to put me on the "Inactive" list, I'll only say this once: I check this Wiki every day, and I will revert or change something if it needs to be done. Otherwise, there's nothing for me to be a part of here;I've been reduced to gnome-status. This Wiki has gotten so chaotic over the past month that I'm simply lost/confused, NOT inactive. I said the new KH3D information would lead to my resumed activity, and I still stand by that, just as soon as all this "merging" nonsense subsides.
Any staff member who has not made let's say ten edits in the last month should be moved to inactive. REMINDER: INACTIVE DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR POWERS HAVE BEEN REVOKED, unless you ask for them to be, or unless the community asks for them to be.
We should put it up to a vote to end this Saturday as to whether we merge the staff or run new elections.
Merging staff:
Same rules as above, we should not grant staff powers to anyone who's been doing nothing for over a month (honestly, we should discuss whether that should be some sort of general rule: if you are going to be unavailable, you need to make way for someone else and earn your spot back when you return.)
New elections:
Given the situation with KH3D, and the general need for revamps and people to lead projects, I would say we need at least fourteen admin or above editors. I would say we don't need more than three bcrats, given that the only need for more than one is to prevent abuse or downtime, but I'm not averse to five or more.
But I've not been keeping up with the discussions on the IRC and forums, so if you guys had already decided on a merge than just give me the names and we can be done with this tonight.
LightRoxas - "It was the sound of books... pages being turned. So, that's just what I was doing, just reading, uh... books. So not a moron." TALK - "Apparently when you scream at a marshmallow, all you get is a scared marshmallow."
Pretty sure the general consensus was to merge staff. The only ones who didn't want to were me and Chitalian, and from a personal standpoint I'm fine with merging now so long as we adhere to those rules on inactivity. I'm also very content with the staff list in this forum.
Dark-EnigmaXIII - Ones born of the heart and darkness, devoids of heart... TALK - Those who ravage all worlds and bring desolation... 20:43, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
I personally dont have a preference, and I believe that there should be an equal number of bcrats from both sites, that's why I initially suggested four, though Im no stranger with 5 or whatever number we pick to use.
As for the inactive situation, I totally agree that we should have some kind of policy to define a staffer as inactive and make way for new staff, always allowing the old people to come back, if they so desire it.
I agree with the inactive staff rule. As for merge/re-elect, I have an idea: first we merge the staff, then mark inactive staffers as inactive and elect new people in their place. I feel like that would be a fair compromise. If not, I am fine with merging the staff- even if it is a little sad that many staff-worthy editors would be left out in that case.
LegoAlchemist - They changed "Snipe Magnet" to "Magnet Grab"? Who's translating this game, 4kids? TALK - Friendships are in direct contravention of mercenary conduct as delineated in your contracts, and on a personal note: I am very, very, disappointed with you.
Oh, this is happening.
Um, my stance. I think the list we have going looks great, there isn't anyone on there that I think doesn't deserve the position.
As for me. Oh boy. I would love to keep my powers, but let's face it: I'm really not as active as I used to be. Sure, like ENX, I'm here practically every day, keeping an eye on the Recent Changes and making sure to stay up to date on the happenings, but I simply don't have time or the motivation to make long term consecutive edits any more. Maybe that'll change by the time 3D comes around, but seeing as I lack a 3DS (and money), I don't think I'll be of much immediate help when all that new info starts coming in.
The point is. There's no point in me being an admin if I'm only going to sit on the inactive list saying, "I'll get to it eventually," like I did on the Keyhole.
So... I'm cool with relinquishing my administration rights, I guess. There's no reason why someone else shouldn't have them.
KrytenKoro - "That's when we bumped into Hannity. Sean Hannity. See the thing about this dude is, at first he's fair, right? And you're like "Wow!" But then BOOM. The dude's balanced, too. And you're like, HOLY SHIT." TALK -
The general consensus among the people at the IRC was to merge staff, yeah, but I would definitely feel more comfortable if we ran a poll. Can someone set one up at the top of the page?
But isn't a poll, like... very easy to contaminate? Unless you mean a sined poll, like every other classic wiki votation. I'll apply the latter. Also, I really like As if idea, since that would mean that no one will actually lose their powers, just moved to the inactive section with them already applied as someone else picks their place. The best of both worlds, to be honest. Regardless of the choice, I do believe new staff should also be appointed--Dark-EnigmaXIII 17:00, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
