Backdoors are a special pathways used to access the System Sectors in Kingdom Hearts coded and Kingdom Hearts re:coded. Backdoors appear as a small hole with cracks and data codes. Data-Sora can detect Backdoors by using the indicator in the top screen. The corners of the screen will appear as blue number codes with alarm, the closer Data-Sora is to the Backdoor, the louder the alarm will rang, the number codes will turn red when Data Sora has loctated the Backdoor. The main purpose of Backdoors are to locate the System Sector of a world and debug the sector in Debug Area.

Debug Areas are special areas existed in the data worlds in Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. The areas itself are System Sectors that are corrupted by bugs. Data-Sora can enter the System Sector through the Backdoor and locate the Debug Areas by looking at the map on the lower screen, Debug Areas are colored red, both in the map icon and the actual area. In Debug Areas, Data-Sora must defeat bug-corrupted Heartless (shown by the black coloring and data screens) to restore the infested System Sector. Debug Areas cause glitches in the data world such as the disappeared bridge in data Destiny Islands. By debugging the infected sectors, Data-Sora can remove the glitches that gets in his way.
