A long, harrowing, devastating war is reaching its climax... and its resolution. 128 warriors wandered into the Keyblade Graveyard, prepared to do battle with whatever they met... whoever they met. Some fought for safety; for the X-Blade; for dictatorship; for love; for family; for their world; and some didn't quite know what they were fighting for. The canyon looks completely different; entire walls have been blown to bits by mastered blasts of spells, and no wall remains free of the scratches and protruding Keyblades and weaponry of the fallen warriors. 128 warriors wandered into the Keyblade Graveyard; 112 have fallen.
Remaining standing are a mere sixteen warriors, unfaltering forces of power, magic, and keys. Here stand members of many worlds, of many goals, of no true, absolute faction. Members of the Organization that nearly strewed many worlds awry, Keyblade wielders of old that fought valiantly against the greatest evil this canyon has seen, villains seeking domination of not only their world, but others too, and wielders of the Keyblade that have fought off darkness, nothingness, and everything in-between to protect their friends. This world is faltering, how much more can it take?
Slowly, the eight pairs rise up and lock eyes with their partner. Fate has decided once again who they shall defeat next... or they shall be felled by. The warriors charge through the Fissure, Twister Trench, and toward the Seat of War for what they think will be the last time. But suddenly, a blast of light is emitted from the sky. Gazing down on the warriors in the sky is Kingdom Hearts, the mass resulting from over one hundred fallen hearts. Distracted from the battle, the warriors gaze into the magnificent, blue glow of the heart that parted the clouds, now beaming light upon an only collection of raised pillars of rock.
Blasts of light and darkness are emitted in every direction from Kingdom Hearts, moving toward the warriors, ensnaring them in tendrils of the two conflicting, natural forces. Was this it, the X-Blade? Had it been formed, had a warrior proven themselves to be the ultimate? No; locked in place by the swarms of light and darkness, the fighters are suddenly blinded by the forces, and feel movement. They open their eyes again, once they feel themselves freed from the chains. No longer does one warrior stand in front of them; fifteen new challengers gaze at them, the survivors of this unthinkable match, atop the group of mountainous columns of desert land. But this isn't the end. The end is far from here. The warriors, basking in the glow of Kingdom Hearts above, raise their weapons again, locked into combat with new targets. Here, a warrior shall prove themselves to be the ultimate Master, the rightful wielder of the X-Blade and the worlds.
The Kingdom Hearts Wiki's The Keyblade War shall be a large-scale tournament, heavily influenced by similar tournaments at the Final Fantasy Wiki, taking place over two months to lead us into the new year. Similarly to the way that the wiki's Mirage Arena functions, two combatants shall face each other, and the winner shall be decided by voting, the loser being eliminated from the tournament. As of yet, the plan is for this tournament to include 128 characters from all over the series, all the way from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep to Kingdom Hearts coded. The characters have been chosen, and the list is being revised currently. As 128 shrinks down to sixty-four participants, then thirty-two, then sixteen, then eight, then four, and finally two, the heat shall rise as the wiki celebrates all of the fantastic characters created by Square-Enix, Disney, and Final Fantasy. Finally, as the new year begins, the winner of our tournament shall be crowned the greatest, most powerful, most ruling force across all of the Kingdom Hearts universe. It is not long, community of the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, until The Keyblade War begins. And this time, both light and darkness have a chance at ruling it all....
Voting shall begin on Friday, October 15.
