I would like to tell that on the IRC certain Mods on the IRC and Hexedmagica

Have been braking the rule of not major swears like the F word and other profanity I think we should delete the IRC chanel If these people don't stop swearing

Deleting the IRC channel might be a bit drastic. But that doesn't mean we can't fix the problem. (Then again I have no power over that...)

Who cares? Fuck is not a major swear/insult. A major insult is like caling one's mother a prostitute. Man up loljoe.

...Um, no Hex, it actually is a major swear word. I don't know where you're from, but where I come from that is the swear word.

I don't recall seeing in here that there is anything about "swearing" being against the rules. And Rocker isn't online, is she?
…Thought not.

Anyways, your solution to this is… Not so great. For one thing, if you are offended by swears, why bother going? We're all people; we're no one's slaves to control and manipulate. In other words, I mean, we're people and you can't control the amount of profanity coming out of our text boxes. For another, if we actually do this, it will be back to spamming the talk pages. And I don't enjoy seeing Wiki mail about my talk page being spammitied with trivial matters.

LS, Fuck is nothing. it's used so much it's lost all meaning.

This seems a petty complaint from someone who vexes others on the IRC channel and abuses the /me function. Also, seeking to delete the IRC channel because they were banned is an ignorant move. Why ruin it for everyone, hm?

But I digress, do I like swearing? Nah, not really. I'm used to hearing the swears from school and such. I honestly don't care about the swearing as long as it isn't excessive and deragatory. If a user is excessively saying swears and bashing other users with it, then I see a problem.

But if its to say something like "Oh crap, that stinks." I don't see a problem. In short: Do I like/use swears? No. Do I have anything against them? As long as they aren't excessive and deragatory against other users, I don't see a problem. Are there better words to use then swears? Of course, but I don't believe we have the right (on the IRC) to tell a user what they can/cannot type. Wouldn't that be invading their rights?
