wait a minute, are you telling me that it was that significant for you to make the second "b" capitalized? Was it really that big of a deal for you to create a whole new page?
"Look at my face!" — Saxisai 15:58, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
Wow man, really? We had a whole debate over this on the previous talk page before someone remade the article. I guess I have to restate my reason why this is Vanitas' X-Blade:
"It has been brought to my attention that some people feel that the X-Blade should not be put under Vanitas' ownership. I feel that since it has only been wielded by Vanitas, it is ok to assume rightful ownership to him. If someone were to wield it in the future, this article will have to be changed to "X-Blade", but seeing as it has only been wielded by Vanitas, I feel it should stay the same. What are your thoughts on this?"
(directly pasted from the other page)
and LegoAlchemist has stated:
"I think that, for know, with the information that we don't have, we shouldn't leave it under Vanitas's X-Blade. I don't mean, He is the only person that doesn't wield it (Ventus counting, because Vanitas wasn't probably possessing his body). So until we don't learn it's official name, we should leave it as is."
There are some reasons, but its whatever you guys want to do, I've had more than enough of my share of debating with you...
LegoAlchemist - They changed "Snipe Magnet" to "Magnet Grab"? Who's translating this game, 4kids? TALK - Friendships are in direct contravention of mercenary conduct as delineated in your contracts, and on a personal note: I am very, very, disappointed with you.
I agree with you, Saxisai, and I know you have been battling over this for a while. And thanks for posting my argument.
And in the future, to the one who made the article Vanitas's X-Blade, use the option "Move" at the top of the page rather than completely starting a new article. That way, all of the previous discussions remain in the talk page, and everyone's happy.
Just because we're kids doesn't mean we can't run a business— 16:41, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
Well, I think that this article should be named just "X-Blade". I mean, although Vanitas is the only one who wields it, it doesn't mean it's name should have his name included in it... I mean, we don't call the Soul Eater "Riku's Soul Eater" now do we?
That boy is a monster infused with darkness — Saxisai 16:49, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
There, I moved it, now everyone should be happy.
It does make more sense that way. I mean, all of the other weapon pages about weapons that only one person ever wields don't have the person's name in the title. Just Xiggie said.
Well, I was going to respond to that with "well what about TAV's keyblades?", but I know we most likely just don't know the name of them yet, besides Gaia Bane.
So wait, the name is actually pronounced Kai-Blade? And why was the page moved once again? There isn't anything different about the name, just information.
Look at the katakana...It's pronounced the same as "Keyblade". "Kii" is another pronunciation of chi. And the page was moved because the Latin X and the Greek chi are actually different letters. Now it's at [Chi]-Blade and not [X]-Blade.—Urutapu 23:06, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
That boy is a monster infused with darkness — Saxisai 23:15, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure you got what I said, I meant that the name, as in the actual english spelling, X-Blade, is still the same, which is the title of the page. But it says that the page has been moved from X-Blade to X-Blade...but it is the exact same thing...so, why did the page have to be moved? Couldn't the information on the page just be changed? I get that the pronunciation of the title has changed, but its not noticeable in the spelling...
Neumannz — Looks like I'm gonna have to jump...! TALK — I work alone! Except when I work with Xion...which is all the time.
Well, now I'm downright confused. The pronouciation symbol on the page indicates a long "i", making it 'kai', but why is the same symbol used to show the pronounciation of Keyblade?
As more the page being moved, Saxisai, judging from the URL in IE, i'd say someone actually used the Greek letter in the name, which seems like taking it too far to me.
"Quote will be added as soon as I get someone to translate a certain scene from Birth By Sleep for me!" — Saxisai 23:36, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
yea...that is a little to far, and I saw that after I put it into Internet Explorer, (im using firefox, so i couldnt see)
Saxisai, a capital X and a capital chi look exactly the same but are actually different characters. Case in point: lowercase x versus lowercase χ. And as for the pronunciation, as I said in the history: Not in Japanese romanization. The macron doesn't mean "long i sound" (i.e. "eye") but "the Japanese i sound but longer" (i.e. "ee"). And there's no reason not to use the Greek letter, Neumannz. It's not an X. Besides, the Japanese subtitles (I'm not expecting you to go spoil yourself watching an endgame cutscene, just trust me) obviously use a chi and not an X.—Urutapu 00:25, January 11, 2010 (UTC)
Alright, I'm not going to argue anymore. I got what you were saying the first time, there was no need to repeat yourself. I was just thinking it would have been a lot easier to recognize the page with the actual X instead of the Greek letter, so this is the last I'm going to debate about the name. (lol)

Neumannz is right, that's probably why someone thought the real name was "Chi-Blade". The name is literally X-Blade.

The name is a pun. "X" is both the Greek letter "Chi", pronounced "Key", and the shape of the Keyblade itself. Its unique nature seems to make it serve as a proto-Keyblade, so it fits - it's the "Keyblade" that's not a Keyblade.

In one of the endings, we see Mickey returning the Star fragment and the Star Seeker to Yen Sid, and then he starts walking away, then Yen Sid is seen behind him and giving him back the Star Seeker. (6:13)
I don't know what that really means... but I think that we do know that the Star Seeker is a rather special keyblade, I mean, it did appear in the BBS Opening... and then the keychain was formed from the pillars of the three princesses in the game... I wonder what that is supposed to symbolize...
Oh, and about Zack, I am pretty sure that was killed by... Sephiroth! (4:36)
@Immblueversion: If the X-Blade didn't split in two after it was destroyed, then answer this: How did Sora obtain the original Kingdom Key in Riku's place in the first KH game and how did King Mickey obtained the Kingdom Key D at the end of the same game? Magic? Impossible?
So my only speculation is that the destroyed X-Blade split into Sora's original Kingdom Key and King Mickey's Kingdom Key D or they'll never wield them in the first place. Smackdown599 16:01, July 23, 2010 (UTC)
NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Kingdom Key D requires a shift in colour. If the two had actually split it'd make two normal Kingdom Keys. No one can further explain the keychain change. So for now, let's leave it as it is. Also, because the X-Blade is said to have been created at one point in time, so too would the Kingdom Keys have existed by themselves a long time before BBS.
There are some things even the stars cannot tell me. • TroisNyxÉtienne — 12:31, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
Well, if I even vaguely understand the whole "Keyblade" thing, the Keyblade chooses the wielder. So, Sora's "Kingdom Key" chose him as the wielder, and Mickey went to the Realm of Darkness in order to obtain the exact opposite of Sora's, the "Kingdom Key D", so that they could seal the Door to Darkness.
As for splitting, well, it was already revealed that both Riku and Sora are Keyblade wielders. The fact that Riku said he was supposed to be the Keyblade wielder, and stole Sora's Kingdom Key for a while, did not mean that the Kingdom Key was Riku's. It's already been revealed that Riku's true Keyblade is Way to the Dawn.
And King Mickey disappeared for all that time because he was searching for the Kingdom Key D. Try actually, um, I dunno, making sure you've done your research before even saying something that ridiculous with complete conviction? Tony Richards 04:22, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Another theory is, since neither the Kingdom Key nor the Kingdom Key D appeared in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, but the X-Blade did and opened the Kingdom Hearts of World's Hearts (the blue Kingdom Hearts), what is the description for these two Kingdom Keys, it is possible that when Aqua destroyed the X-Blade, it got split into the Kingdom Key and the Kingdom Key D.
It's a completely plausible theory, just fix the grammar a little bit and re-add it.

This is quite the theroy. It acually is about the same as mine. I said that someone who could weield the Keyblade (Light) and the D Keyblade (Darkness) could fuse them and weild the X-blade. But, unfortunatly, unlike many of the other wikis out there, this one doesn´t allow speculation. Sigh.
Didn't even remotely understand anything the first half of what you said. Your theory doesn't hold water because Master Xehanort explains how to create the X-Blade. Combine a Heart of pure Light and one of pure Darkness. That's the only way that's been given. Wikis are supposed to be places for facts, that's what a bloody encyclopedia is. Surely there's countless other places where you can put your theories on the internet.LapisLazuliScarab07:42, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
Remember that the Keyblade is aligned to Light, according to DSRXIII, and only strong hearts can wield it. Now, I don't support the theory for two reasons :
It's speculation. Point.
The main reason why the theory would fail lies in DSR proper. If we were to take that theory, then it would mean that the wielder of Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D would be able to fuse them, i.e. regardless of their alignment. Which is definitely not the case because a) Sora is aligned to Light, b) Mickey, who has obtained the D version of the Kingdom Key, is also aligned to Light. And we don't know the extent of purity of that Light either. That having been said, the theory can't work because Light + Light = no X-Blade. We need Light and Darkness.
Helping others always comes before asking others for help. • TroisNyxÉtienne — 13:21, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
Thats not correct at all. There are also Keyblades aligned to Darkness.
But my Question is: For Creating the X-Blade, you have to fuse a being of pure light and one of pure darkness. But does it have to be a special kind of being of pure darkness (like Vanitas, an Unversed) or can it be a "normal" person? If the second case is right, then for example Riku (who was a being of pure darkness during the first game) and Sora, had the chance to fuse and create the X-Blade, didn't they?
Please sign your comments. And you're mistaken, all Hearts, including Riku's, have a certain amount of Light and darkness in them. The exceptions to this are the Princesses and Ven--Hearts of pure Light--and Vanitas--so far the only Heart of pure Darkness we know about.LapisLazuliScarab15:03, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
You're also mistaken because there are Keyblades from the Realm of Darkness, but all Keyblades are weapons of Light, and that is why the Heartless have great fear of the Keyblade.

Zyrax 15:29, July 27, 2010 (UTC)Sorry, i didn't know how to sign in, but i think now i found out how :S
Thank you, now i understood what the description "heart of pure light" meant ^^
The X-Blade, as far as I understand from the Xehanort Report, is a "Keyblade of People's Hearts", meaning that it is neither a Keyblade of Light nor a Keyblade of Darkness, and is created from hearts. This is the type of Keyblade necessary to get to and open Kingdom Hearts. HOWEVER, Sora's Kingdom Key is a Keyblade of Light, not produced from a heart, and Mickey's Kingdom Key D is a Keyblade of Darkness, not produced from a heart. This is an indisputable fact - Nomura has explicitly stated it. Therefore, while the X-Blade and the Kingdom Keys look very similar, they are of a fundamentally different nature and composition. The X-Blade is not actually the same thing as a Keyblade - it is made from hearts. That is another reason that Mickey and Sora's Keyblades could not become the X-Blade - the X-Blade MUST be created from a heart of light and a heart of darkness, and both Mickey and Sora are of the Light. Very much so.
Riku and Sora could have been able to summon the X-Blade, yes, if they knew what they were doing. Instead, Ansem had Riku create the normal Keyblade of People's Hearts, possibly because he could not rely on an appropriate heart of light, or if he just thought the X-Blade was a bad idea after the last time.GloriousCHAOS! 18:19, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
TNE: Not all Keyblades are weapons of the light - Nomura says that they are either light or dark-affiliated, regardless of their wielder. The Heartless fear it because, as weapons of the heart, Keyblades are able to lock, unlock, remove, or return hearts. Same thing with Nobodies and Unversed, I would assume.GloriousCHAOS! 18:27, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

Should we really call one form of he X-Blade complete when in the reality the keyblade isn't, I mean it looks complete but as Vanitas says the fusion wasn't completed making the blade used by Ventus-Vanitas incomplete, Or are we just using the complete and incomplete thing for naming the two forms of the X-blade?
My personal theory on this is that within Ven's Heart, he and Vanitas are still not fused, so the Χ-Blade used by Vanitas is incomplete. However, since they are both within his Heart, Ventus-Vanitas contains both of them "within" him, and thus from an external perspective, the fusion is complete, meaning that Ventus-Vanitas (or, as I prefer to call him, Venitus) has the complete Χ-Blade

The Japanese pronunciation is "kee-blade" and the translators are generally good at following the Japanese pronunciation (Marluxia, Xion). Just wait a couple of weeks and the game'll be out. We'll know then.LapisLazuliScarab10:36, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

Official English name
According to the dialogue text, the official title of the weapon is "χ-blade," with a lowercase "chi" (as shown in this video), possibly so people won't confuse it with the Latin letter "x". However, it is uncertain whether there are scenarios that dictate it should be spelled with an uppercase "chi", as the title of the article already shows, and thus renaming the article as such may not be entirely justified. Until that matter can be settled, it is at least clear that the "b" in the name should be lowercase, and that the necessary spelling changes should be made in the articles themselves. It's already moved to that title. Wiki's automatically capitalize the first letter of the article. HOWEVER, this means you can use the correct name when linking to this page, as well.GloriousCHAOS! 21:35, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
