Sorry to nag, but first of all... PLEASE spell her name right! So... fair question, but I'm pretty sure the answer is no. No relation. Besides, the Ansem Reports mention that he selected "a girl". Don't you think that Xehanort would assign a little more significance if said girl was related to Ansem the Wise?
Though this does raise questions on the issue of a monarchy vs. Ansem the Wise ruling Radiant Garden, it may be that there was a monarchy but that Ansem essentially was ruler. Roughly analogous to the UK's monarchy, perhaps.
Of course, there is potential interpretation in the term "Princess", since Alice and Belle are "Princesses", yet aren't generally classed as such in the royal sense, unlike Snow White, Jasmine, Aurora and Cinderella.

I don't think it is true, but if Ansem is Kairi's father, then wouldn't Kairi's grandmother be his mother :P
You don't have to be an actural princess to be a er... princess, take alice for example. Myself 123 23:17, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
You mean, you don't have to be an actual princess to be a Princess of Heart. We don't know about Kairi's lineage at all... darn

Agreed, look at Wendy. No royal blood mentioned, and she gets mistaken for a princess of heart. If she were a actual princess, not princess of heart the other kind, they would say so or call her " Princess Wendy ".--PrincessAndie8thprincessofheart 17:33, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
SoraXKairi?
Though there are many scenes where Sora and Kairi show that they really care for eachother (as in more than 'just friends').
They never really admitted it, well...openly anyway. When are they going to kiss or do something; c'mon Square, throw us a bone!
Oh, surely you know how Square-Enix love to make us squirm. Anyway, they never confirmed, say, CloudXAeris/Tifa either way. They just like to leave the niche open for pairings.
For reference, SoraXKairi, RoxasXNaminé and CloudXAeris 4evar from me!

Exactly! I really want something to happen. It's driving me nuts! Do you think something will eventually happen?
I HOPE something happens. Oh yessssssss, I can just picture Sora kissing Kairi right now. Teehee. :D Troisnyxetienne 15:45, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
I hope they kiss, hey Square Enix and Disney, Ya better make them kiss if you ever read this stuff, you won't lose fans, ya'll gain 'em.--PrincessAndie8thprincessofheart 17:26, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
YOU ARE AN IDIOT. play KH1 again, or for once, if you havent. PLAY IT.
Zack, please don't call other editors/visitors idiots. For all you know, this person actually hasn't played or finished the first game, or is younger and doesn't understand some parts of the plot.

I think I figured out all the mysterious factors of Kairi showing up at Destiny Islands: Kairi is a Princess of Heart, meaning that 10 years ago, during Birth by Sleep, she would have been targeted by Maleficent, Master Xehanort, his apprentice, and possibley Terra Ven and Aqua. Now, from the Ansem Reports, we can assume that King Mickey and Ansem the Wise met and started working together aroud the time of Birth by Sleep. What I think happened is, Ansem and/or Mickey somehow found out that Kairi was in fact one of the "seven maidens of pure light". As a last resort to keep Maleficent, Master Xehanort, his apprentice, and possibley even Terra Ven and Aqua from obtaining all the Princesses, they took one, Kairi, in a (newly invented) Gummi Ship and hid her on the small, unsuspecting world of Destiny Islands. The meteor shower started "as a result of its door being opened" (see Origin section of Gummi Ship). I find this to be my least favorite of all my theories, but I wouldn't waste my time posting it if I didn't find it likely. Tell me what you all think.
Okay, now I'm getting confused in this mess of text.

It's simple xNaminex's THEORY is wrong
Fine, but you could be a bit more COURTEOUS in saying so.
But I've learned that deep down, there's a light that never goes out! • TroisNyxÉtienne
My apologies
Accepted. By the way, xNaminex's theory is right, according to Director's Secret Report XIII. Also, the Final Mix version of the Ansem Reports do state that Xehanort's Heartless knew of the connection between the Keyblade wielder and the Princess of Heart, and he was fully aware of Kairi's status when he sent her off to the Destiny Islands, hoping that his hypothesis would actually come to fruition.

where the hell in director's secret report 13 say that
okay xNaminex's theory was that the "Real" Ansem and king mickey sent kairi to destiny islands to keep her safe, whereas Xehanort's reports state that he sent "on the ocean of worlds" to find the keybearer (and presumably kill him/convert him)
Okay, lemme get this straight - all of you are confusing me !
I re-read xNaminex's theory (which you don't have to put in bold italics), and yes, there's an error. Xehanort sent Kairi to DI, believing that the Princess of Heart and the wielder are connected, and he waited for years to test that hypothesis.
Killing or converting him would not be an option, though, as he knows that the Keyblade wielder has some power which he'd wanna use for his own ends.

should i define "Convert" for you
Very well...... though you could start by stopping that insolence of yours.

I'm joining the side of xNaminex, I think her theory could have happened.--PrincessAndie8thprincessofheart 17:28, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
despite all (official) Evidence to the contrary?
Okay xNaminex had a good theory.Wrong, but a step in the right direction. But this? This is getting ridiculous.
Barely a day goes by when my periodic check of my watchlist doesn't show an IP that has edited the Kairi article. Of course, it's only been vandalism a couple of times, but is it worth semi-protecting the article?
Category: Suggestion
If you ask me, no... Because sometimes, valuable edits are made, and the grammar needs to be checked. I remember the Heartless article was semi-protected at one time - I couldn't edit, adn the grammar was all out, even if the info was intact. I don't know - someone voiced this out later, and it's now open for public editing.

Eh, you're probably right about leaving it unprotected.
Just out of interest: correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't semi-protect mean it can be edited by any registered user, whereas it's full-protect that's admins only? In which case, why couldn't you, as you said, edit the Heartless article? :S

At that point in time, I was not registered as TNE yet.
