Keyblade-Blk.png BOOP! Now that we are starting to get more information on Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, the topic of a spoiler policy has arisen on the IRC. Now, I cannot remember how our spoiler policy worked back on Wikia, so long ago with the Japanese release of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. The main confusion on the IRC is not in what our spoiler policy is, but when it starts.
  • Does action regarding spoilers need to start before the Japanese release of the game, or immediately after the release?
  • Just what is our spoiler policy?
    • Evaluate/observe previous policy.
    • Made amendments/new policy/revisions.
    • What changes should be made now that we are off-Wikia and independent?

...Discuss! Boop.

I believe we put up spoiler notices on affected articles that lasted until one month after the game was released in all regions that it was going to be.

Infinity KHD.png I think that policy works fine, so I don't have any revisions to make. As for when it starts, the point of spoiler warnings is to give people a heads-up if there is any new information that could spoil them. That should apply to pre-release info as well.

Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png From my point of you, someone who doesn't want to get spoilered won't read articles about new features of KH3D, so a simple warning at the beginning at the article should be enough. The real problem are the character and plot articles that get new infos with the game shortly after the Japanese release (if SquareEnix doesn't not spoil us before that with too long trailers). I think the "spoiler begins" and "ends here" is not enough. Many wikis hide their spoilers in some sort of box, we should do the same.

eEB612q.png I find DDD not being addable on any pages such as Lock On stupid, "OH NO, LOCKING ON IS A SPOILER." Uh, no it's not.

It has nothing to do with it being a spoiler or not, it has to do with Lock-On being a specific ability (not Ability, though), and we don't know whether that ability appears in the game. It is not the same as the targeting reticule itself, and for all we know, they could name it something differently in KH3D. It would be silly if they did, but until we get reliable info showing us that the thing is named Lock-on, it's dishonest to claim we have proof that it appears in KH3D.

eEB612q.png It appears in the TGS trailer. It's shown during the Gorilla and Gargoyle boss battles, Scan is also present.

"It is not the same as the targeting reticule itself,"

How can it NOT be the same as the targeting reticule? It is mainly a recurring control, and, therefore, there is no surprise that they would have it! NumberXV 15:23, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

KrytenKoro - Most bears were content to live their lives, mauling and eating one, maybe two humans at most. "Mass-murder," as the bears always said, "is for the sharks." But not Barry. Barry was different. He knew that one day, he would kill ALL of the humans. This is the inspiring, tear-jerking story of one bear and the dream he dared to dream.
TALK -
It's pretty straight-forward: It's not the same thing, and therefore, the presence of the first does not necessarily confirm the presence of the latter.

I think we have reached a concensus that the discussion concerning the Lock-On feature and Scan Erry brought up. We have come to the conclusion that because of their presence in most KH games, they shouldn't be a surprise, and therefore, NOT a spoiler. --NumberXV 17:43, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
