Yuan Salve! — 05:21, 30 April 2009 (UTC) "Days that I have held, days that I have lost / days that outgrow, like daughters, my harbouring arms" I'd like to suggest a few image uploading guidelines. Sorting through all of these is proving to be a nightmare @_@. Categorise you images in the appropiate category. Categories can be found here. Do not upload duplicates or near-duplicates. Name the file something which is easily understood, and describes the file. Add a brief description, so users can know what the image is of. If the image may be of dubious whereabouts, please state where you got it from. This is primarily for artwork images and fanart. Don't upload fanart, unless it is your own or you have express permission from the artist who made it. Select the correct licence in the upload form. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Why, what did you have planned? ^_^ I like these suggestions, especially the naming (ye gads, how many images have I renamed?), and the licensing. We might want to create a license explanation for those who might not understand things like "fair use" and what not. Now, if only we had a lawyer or something... ^_- ETA: Oh, and Yuan, thank you so much for doing this. I've been stumped by this for ages.

I've got some knowledge of law (even if I've only studied an introduction to the English legal system, contract law and law of torts. ^_^ But all in all, those policies are well done. I'm as good as new! All my functions have been restored! • TroisNyxÉtienne

Azul81677 - "Ebil minds think ebily alike." - A collaboration between 2 very ebil minds TALK - {{{time}}} These are the ones that our upload form has but they don't even exist: Template:No license (For Unknown license) Template:Self (For self-created images) Template:From Wikimedia (Self-explanatory) Template:GFDL (See: GNU_Free_Documentation_License) Template:Other free (Free license) Template:PD (Public Domain) Template:Permission (Uploader was give permission by the copyright holder) And I don't know what the last one's name is and I don't really want to look for it but this is what it says: This image is used on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki under fair use because no free source exists of the object in question, and the image is used to identify and describe the subject. The copyright is held by Square Enix. The editor who uploaded this picture, as well as any editors who use it, receive no profit as a result. This image may not be used in any pages outside of article space. If this image is used in any other page, such as a policy page or userpage, it should be removed to respect copyright. And that's about it :D

Sorry I haven't been working on this; I'm currently ill and not up to editing lots and lots of images. :(

Because basically our images are mostly fair use, I suggest this approach which I used for the wiki I am currently working on, kupo. Have a look at the list of copyright templates here, what I did was basically give fair use licensing based on type: book cover, game cover, poster, album cover, logo, and the usual general fair-use, kupo. Add a character artwork or screenshot fair use license template,

I have changed our license list and I've started the first fair use image copyright template with Template:CharacterLicense, kupo. All subsequent copyright template should be named according to the Mediawiki:Licenses, kupo. I would get to it, but real life got me again,

Thanks to Azul, GS, Ulti and any others for helping out, plus everyone for being patient with me. I'm sorry I took such a long time. Next is going through each of the categories to fix the system and get rid of dups and badly named images.

I want to amend the current image policy to allow images trademarked by Square Enix and the Walt Disney Company to be left alone because these are generally the best that can be distributed. Byzantinefire - There are no strings on me (talk) 00:26, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
