Prison of Flames

Prison of Flames (火炎の牢獄, Kaen no Rōgoku) is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. It is a signature ability of Axel.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts Union χ, Prison of Flames is a special attack that targets all enemies. It costs 2 special attack gauges to perform. It raises Player's Speed-based strength by 3 tiers for 1 turn. It lowers the Speed-based defense of all targets by 3 tiers for 1 turn. It inflicts more damage the higher Player's HP.

Kingdom Hearts II

Axel uses Prison of Flames as an attack during his second battle with Roxas at the Basement Hall. It cloaks the Basement Hall's floor in magma, slowly draining Roxas's HP. It can be removed by using the Clear Light Reaction Command. In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, the version used by Axel's Data Replica will rapidly drain Sora's HP until he is at 1 HP, and Axel cannot be defeated as long as it is active.
