I was thinking Mickey, and the other enter the Data world like a world. Maybe its a new world in coded. --Cococrash11 02:45, December 14, 2009 (UTC)Cococrash11

Based on what? As far as coded tells us, the entire thing is just data inside Mickey's computer, there's nothing to indicate that it's actually a world

It really is a world. --Cococrash11 05:19, January 13, 2010 (UTC)Cococrash11

It can be identified as a world. After all, the world Space Paranoids is just a computer.--65.247.196.3 23:39, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

It's not treated as a world, but as a universe. From what we know, there's no reason to consider it a world the same way we consider other worlds. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 23:50, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

Datascape

Shouldn't we move the page to Datascape? The17Ultima Weapon Keychain KHBBS.pngMaster 12:51, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

thats what Mickey, Data-Riku and Data-Sora call it, does that make it the offical term though? Xavnirs 13:38, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

I don't know for sure if it's the official term, but the place is called the Datascape several times, so I think it should be moved. - LevL 13:43, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
Riku explained what datascape is and the term is used in the journal. The17Ultima Weapon Keychain KHBBS.pngMaster 13:45, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts Chi in the Datascape?

With all the connections between Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded and the browser based game, Kingdom Hearts Chi, I'm starting to wonder if Chi actually takes place in the Datascape. Even Data-Sora somehow resembles the Chi style when he thanks Mickey and the others at the end of Re:Coded. There's also the mention of the Book of Prophecies, but personally I think the fact that the Datascape exists on a computer and the game Chi is a browser based game is more than just a coincidence. It's as if the player is in a similar position that Mickey and the others were in when "playing" as their avatar. What do you guys think? Diamonddeath (talk) 08:09, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

They said that KHχ took place in the world before the Keyblade War so it's not Datascape stuff. Also, this page is for discussion about the article and how to improve it. If you want to discuss the plot, please use the forum. Pea14733 ---- [土] 11:11, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

New Datascape definition

So Kingdom Hearts III has redefined a datascape to be, and I quote from the glossary, "Artificial simulations based on real-world data. Inside a datascape, time can be made to loop infinitely, and the impossible becomes possible. The alternate Twilight Town that Roxas shared with Hayner, Pence, and Olette is one such world."

I believe it would be best to create a datascape section in the Universe of Kingdom Hearts article and redirect to there, with this page renamed to Jiminy's Journal Datascape and Simulated Twilight Town renamed to Twilight Town Datascape. Perhaps even a datascape page created for the Union X worlds? Book of Prophecies Datascape or something? - Joveus (talk) 16:12, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

It sounds like it would also include Mirage Arena, the KHUX worlds, The Grid, Space Paranoids, the Replica Data arenas, the Days holomissions, Shift Pride, and the destiny islands in sora's heart w/ Xion, Roxas, Namine, and Ansem (and KHDDD did the DI bunch dirty by excluding them like that)."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." Re Mind

The area where the OrgXIII data battles takes place is called the Datascape in the trophies. --84.203.0.65 18:02, 23 February 2020 (UTC)

Rename

So, how to rename the article now so the name reflects the fact it focuses on the datascape created by Jiminy's Journal? An anonymous user had it as "Journal Datascape", but there could be other options we can use, too, such as Datascape (Jiminy's Journal). Also, to make sure, is there an official name for this datascape mentioned in the Ultimania(s)?--NinjaSheik 02:15, 28 May 2020 (UTC)

I think we should use "Jiminy's Journal Datascape" or your suggestion "Datascape (Jiminy's Journal)". As far as I know there isn't official name, be it Ultimania or otherwise for it, so it would be our choice to coin it. The same goes for "Data World" I'm afraid. While the page was updated wonderfully (thanks anon) and is technically correct to my understanding, the term "data world" isn't official. At best it's an unofficial translation for the データの世界 (Datascape). Now I don't want to make this issue bigger than it is because we have still far greater issues with terms around here, I just want to point it out. At least to me it seems that there is no real distinction between a collection of data worlds and a single data world in the games' lore, both seem to be called datascape. The whole problem is of course made worse in the English translation where we have the distinction between realm and world that is not used consistently (e.g. "realm of darkness" but the logo is the Japanese translation "Dark World", for "The Final World" "realm" for 世界 was dropped whole together).
All in all I still think it would work best with renaming this page and have a single collective page of all datascapes like it's done now. I'll check the interviews and secret section if there are more official info around. --ShardofTruth 08:40, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
How about "Datascape (KHc)"? This Datascape has only appeared in coded so far, and it's not very likely it will come back. TheSilentHero 12:14, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
That's an even better idea. --ShardofTruth 06:27, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
Agreed.--NinjaSheik 00:35, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
I don't like "Datascape (KHc)" as it's not an in-universe term. For consistency are we planning to use "Datascape (UX)" and "Datascape (IIIRM)"? I'd prefer "Jiminy's Journal Datascape" or "Journal Datascape". - 90.249.58.38 22:53, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
