I'm a bit confused about the bit where it says that the hat is the source of his magic, i know mickey doesn't do any magic in Apprentice until he puts on the hat but Yen Sid is able to part the waters and clean up the mess before mickey gives the hat back to him. maybe the hat is a booster, or maybe mickey just wanted to look like his teacher but source certainly isn't right.
Master Yen Sid!?!?
The new scans hinted that Yen Sid migth be a keyblade master one clue they give is Terra reffering to him as "Master" Yen Sid also he is the one training Mickey, could he be the master of the third throne(the empty one we see behind Eraqus in the TGS 09 trailer when he gave Aqua and Terra the Master Test).
- No. He's known as "master", as he's a master magician. His wisdom could also possibly bestow this title upon him. - EternalNothingnessXIII 23:20, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
Normaly that's what I would think, but the article[1] is the one pointing out the "master" thing my evidence is the fact that he is teaching Mickey how to use the keyblade.--Masgrande 06:04, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSqSHbI0E9w This video said that Yen Sid is a retired Keyblade Master and it seems that he know Master Erauqs and Master Xehanort. So that means he's a Keyblade Master. --Cococrash11 02:39, January 22, 2010 (UTC)Cococrash11
so we can assume that his keyblade is the Star Seeker and that a keyblade master can pass his keyblade for his apprentice like eraqus did with aqua and Yen Sid did to Mickey right?--Xabryn 16:09, February 13, 2010 (UTC)
Well it Mickey is the 'Yoda' of Kingdom Hearts, Yen Sid is definitely the 'Dumbledore' --Hyperwre_2.0 00:25, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
How many term are there in KH called Master? Beside it safe to assume he's a Keyblade Master since he know about the Keyblade, Master Eraqus, and Master Xehanort. --Cococrash11 05:04, February 17, 2010 (UTC)Cococrash11

is this a possibility?
uh, is it possible he knows Erauqs and Xehanort because he could have trained them? since, he is a retired keyblade master, and that was one of the choices after taking the test. just wondering The names Pup, Got it memorized?
- Uh no, he did become a Keyblade master along with Eraqus and Xehanort. The three are of the same batch. I believe the Master Xehanort Reports actually do make mention of this, hence that's why there are 3 chairs in the LOD training hall. TROISNYX AMDG 15:13, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

Coded Secret ending
If anyone has seen the ending for Re Coded knows that some big events are taking place. However, didn't Master Yen Sid quit being a master? Its said so in Birth by Sleep, so then how can he mention what he did. ((Trying to not spoil it for someone who reads this) Naruto195 18:01, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
It is very possible that Yen Sid decided to come out of retirement. However, he was training Mickey as a keyblade wielder in Birth By Sleep, and events happened afterwards that led to Mickey also becoming a Keyblade Master. Mickey does so without Master Eraqus around (who could logically be the only other person to oversee the test, looking at Master Xehanort's history), so it is likely Yen Sid held that test without being a Keyblade Master rather than being a retired master. However, he could have temporaily come out of retirement for that. If that logic fails, since Mickey is considered a Keyblade Master, he could oversee the test. GUD 22:20, January 19, 2011 (SCT)
