I'm not sure how to do this, but this article's name should be changed to Fateful Encounter, which is the properly translated name. KeybladeWarriorNick

No. I think Two Across sounds cooler. And untill we get it offically that its "Fateful Encounter," It stays as Two Across. Like the Areith/ies/whatever debate, except smaller.

Would it be appropriate to make a remark on how this Keyblade resembles Ven's, or is that is that too speculative? Pilaman 00:47, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Honestly, "Two Across" is a hideous translation. The name means something akin to "Two people which meet fortuitously". It's meant to refer to the crossing of Sora and Riku's memories, the Oathkeeper and Oblivion, into the Keyblade.
めぐりあう二人:
- 巡り会う(P); 巡り合う; 巡り逢う(oK) 【めぐりあう】 (v5u) to meet fortuitously (poet); to meet by chance; to happen across
- 二人 【ふたり】 (n) two persons; two people; pair; couple;
Fateful is not correct either, as the implication is that this is completely random and lucky. "Encounter" has that element of luck, and is one of the closest synonyms.
I think "Couple's Encounter" or "Encountering Two".
I'd choose "Encountering Two", it's slightly more grammatically correct.
If this translation doesn't satisfy anyone, I can get further confirmation from a Japanese professor I know.

The problem with that is that the literal translation is "The two people who meet by chance/luckily". The subject of the name is the two people, not the meeting. Of course, the problem with that is to then simplify it to fit into the 2/3 word naming scheme the games use.

I know this may seem a bit out of place of what we are currently talking about, but I have a question about this Keyblade's ability: Once you get the Final Form, is it still useful in any way? If so, how?
Also, if we're trying to come up with a new name for Two Across (that's what it looks like you're doing, anyway), how about Twilit Crossing? I mean, it's a mix of Light & Dark (hence the ability), as it is somewhat of a mix of Oathkeeper and Oblivion, and crossing... It fits with translation, I think. Maybe not the crossing part, but I think twilit fits. What do you guys think?

I suppose if you actually like Anti Form, it could be considered useful, but other than that, it's just to go with Bond of Flame.
And we're not considering a new name for Two Across - we're trying to agree on a better translation. "Twilit Corssing" is just completely, totally different from the meaning of the Japanese name, and would not work.

I have no idea how old this disscussion is... but considering Two Across is a Keyblade that appears in Days, and considering Days is gonna have an English version. Why don't we wait till the English version comes out and we change it to whatever it's called there?

My thoughts exactly. Unbirth was thinking the same thing too. We'll wait and then we'll move the page accordingly.
EDIT : Speaking about Unbirth, he got his hands on the Japanese version of Days and he found Two Across there. Now, if anyone else has found Two Across, please give us the Days stats. Or, ping him - I'll be away starting tomorrow.

I thought the Keyblade was called "Two Across". —Marexl 16:23, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- There is no official translation; the Keyblade first appeared in KH2 Final Mix which isn't in English. There won't be one until 358/2 Days comes out in English. "Serendipitous Pair" is a fan translation, but it's much, much more accurate than "Two Across," an appallingly bad translation some fan came up with. It apparently used this logic:
- Meguriau Futari = meguriau ("to come across") + futari ("two people")
- I'm sure you can see how the conclusion "Two Across" makes no sense given the above.—Urutapu 03:21, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
