Talk:Villain's Vale

If you go to the bailey ledge, it says "you can see villain's vale where Maleficent used to reside". I don't understand how the library was in it, but it seems it may be intended to be the kh1 castle.72.12.205.35 00:18, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't think so, the design is very clearly different. It may be that she never "resided" in that castle, it was just their headquarters. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 07:45, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I reconsidered on this. I had forgotten that Space Paranoids is clearly called the Hollow Bastion OS, and was made back when the world was called Radiant Garden. Perhaps the two castles got merged when the Heartless attacked?72.12.205.35 04:49, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Kana

So the room that Pete and Maleficent hang out in in Villain's Vale is labeled as Villain's Vale (ヴィラン砦の一室 Buiran Toride no Isshitsu?, lit. "Chamber of the Villain's Fort"), so I just wanted to confirm that Villain's Vale is called this: (ヴィラン砦 Buiran Toride?, lit. "Villain's Fort") in the JP release. The Radiant Garden article (that I edited) currently assumes that "Chamber of the Villain's Fort" is the name for the entire castle. Chitalian8 14:39, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

You are right, the room they hang out is called this way and the translation was simplified but since you can't officially visit it, there is not much harm done. In Jiminy's journal is just referred to as "ヴィラン砦" in the Japanese version, so that would be the correct translation for the place in general. --ShardofTruth 17:47, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
So, "Villain's Vale" is the localized name for both the story-only area (not visitable map) and the programmed chamber?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 18:08, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
Exactly. --ShardofTruth 18:14, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

Merge?

Shouldn't this just be moved to Radiant Garden's page? I don't think there's anything particular that warrants the Villain's Vale to have its own separate article. I think it's only significance is the fact it acts as a base for Maleficent. A lot of characters show up in the area, true, but couldn't that be mentioned in the Story sections in the RG's page?--NinjaSheik 20:17, 9 August 2016 (UTC)

I agree, it's really not that significant of a location. Chitalian8 00:48, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Mergadillo."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 01:57, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
I think we should re-merge all location pages to their respective worlds, except for the really unique stuff like the Chambers, or Hollow Bastion's keyhole, etc etc... --Ignis (talk) 02:21, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
There really aren't too many examples of this on the wiki, but of all the pages in Category:Places, I can see a few questions being raised on how we handle separate areas in worlds. Are we sure of our stances on cases like Olympus Coliseum/Underworld and Halloween Town/Christmas Town being separate articles? Chitalian8 18:00, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
In KHX, the Underworld is treated as something that you have to use a Lane Between to get to from Olympus Coliseum, so it's definitely setup, in-universe, as a self-contained area. Trying to cover it in appropriate detail (which few location sections do -- see Cavern of Remembrance for appropriate coverage, and that's mostly for tunnels) would overwhelm the target page. In KHII, Christmas Town is distinct enough that the kids get a separate world costume, so I think it would count too."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:30, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
