Guys, we're having an End of Year Event 2014! Hurrah!
This is hoping to be as successful as the End of Year Event 2012, but the problem is we haven't decided what we're going to do as an event. Here's what we've agreed so far:
We can coordinate with the Keyhole.
The event will probably happen during December.
The event chosen will be decided through a vote.
We need everyone to add their ideas for an event below. Remember, even bad ideas are worth mentioning; others may build on them to make it amazing.
When adding a new idea, create a new sub-section here and explain it with as much detail as possible. Others can then feedback on people's ideas. Starting September, the posted ideas will be locked in and we'll have a vote to see which one we should do.
My (really bad) idea is we have some sort of creative works event where we pick a single KH theme and people create pieces based around that theme. They could be fanart, fanfics, collages, cardboard models, computer images, memes, even Minecraft structures or talk bubbles. Then, maybe the best three are judged somehow, perhaps through a public voting process, and there could be one "winner" plaque, two "runner-up" plaques and others "participation". PROBLEMS:
This is a very demanding event in terms of time; probably no one will bother to make anything.
There may not be enough time to make anything special in the space of a month.
Judging could go very very wrong with all sorts of problems cropping up, like favouritism, vote-canvassing, and sockpuppeting.
All in all, I say don't pick my idea :<
User Trivia/Small Bonus Round

My idea doesn't really go with coordinating with the Keyhole buttt we can make it work. Well, my idea was to have a user trivia, like have users send something not many people know about themselves to the wiki email (I believe we have one.) and make a list on the End of the Year official page, all at once. The users take notes on which user they think each statement belongs to. Answers should preferably in a personal sandbox with <!----text----> so other users can't see your answers :^) Users may question compadrés and staff, but maybe have it so that they are yes or no questions only. :^) I think it's a small little bonus round to whatever the main event may be, since according to Special:Statistics we only have 59 active users, which isn't a lot of facts to write. I wonder if anyone likes my idea...
TheFifteenthMemberYes. You're creepy. I can't say we'll miss you while you're gone, so it'd be best if you did go. We all win that way.— TheFifteenthMember 20:52, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
It's certainly an interesting idea. If people encase answers in hidden text, cheaters can still see them in editing mode so it's best to send the answers to the email. The question-asking could be problematic because people can just ask "Did you do this..." and work their way down the list until they receive a "Yes". Maybe we should limit it to three questions per user so everyone can only ask three questions, no matter who they're asking. It'd still be very easy to cheat in this so perhaps to counterattack this, we design the event to just be a fun thing without any serious competition. Answers are only mailed in since it may be interesting to see who got the closest. This could be a fun preliminary round to gather excitement, if nothing else.

I do like the idea. Maybe we could designate 1 or 2 people to hold the answers so that users can't stick together and cheat. Would the IRC be a good place to submit answers (via PM of course) or should we stick to the wiki email? If we do choose this idea, we should probably have a sign up starting next month. To prevent cheating, we could do the team idea where we have The Keyhole guess the facts about KHWiki's users and vice versa. Thoughts?
TheFifteenthMemberMyes, but THEY didn't know that! We have to consider THEM! And yet we must also be mysterious, myes, myes...— TheFifteenthMember 12:50, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
Great idea with the Keyhole vs KHWiki! IRC is a viable option but wouldn't it be harder to keep track of results and submissions that way since it'll be harder to keep a record of everyone's answers? Maybe, one person from the KHWiki and one from the Keyhole to hold answers? We should have an equal amount of facts so if one Wiki is low on people submitting trivia points, some people could be able to have multiple trivia points to balance it out.

CODE 0xSF1-JHAO0018: SYSTEM UPDATE
Eh, what the heck, I'll just throw this out. I had suggested during the August Roundtable doing a large event similar to the 2012 event, where we would split up into groups, and award points for completing certain tasks. The tasks would be completing certain things in the several games (which is how we include Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX), just like the 2012 event. However, we also would award points by doing other things, such as completing certain tasks on the wiki, or winning contests like those that FM and ANX proposed. Why is it called the "ReMIX Event"? Because like the HD ReMIXes, it takes several random things and throws them together as if they belong together and repackages them in a nice bow, even though they're not much different than they were on their own. (hehe) Anyways, following FM's format....
PROBLEMS:
Certain contests may not be participated in because of how big this idea might be.
How would we divide points so that those who do well in the creative works or user trivia contests have a chance to win compared to those who complete the game tasks?
May not have enough active users to split into teams and participate in such a vast event
Does the event make sense on its own? It may be too complicated to explain...
May not have enough active users with all the games, as was the case with the 2012 event.
If there aren't enough users active to participate in teams, the event may be overwhelming to do as individuals.
Event proposal could be a desperate attempt to get some sort of opinion or activity on the forum....
Advantages:
Would make a huge event without discarding proposed (and awesome) ideas/events
Would still involve Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, and would allow an opportunity for those who get the game to do something with it.
Could be an opportunity to do something on the wiki with Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX
The idea is this; you take a pre-existing Disney property and adapt it to fit into the Kingdom Hearts universe. This would also include the recently acquired Marvel and LucasArts. Pick a property (can be a film, show, comic, game, etc, as long as it is owned by Disney), come up with a name, choose the starring characters, and pitch the world's story and whatever changes would be made. Bonus points to those who design world-exclusive Heartless/Nobodies/Unversed/Dream Eaters/etc. (does not have to be drawn out)
As of the October Roundtable, we are down to two ideas: the User Trivia Quiz and the World Adaptation Contest. Please vote below for which one you want. You now have October 17 2014 23:00 UTCEnable JavaScript to view this countdown. left to vote!
User Trivia
World Adaptation
Already have an idea for this, and I don't want anyone to take it! KeybladeSpyMaster 05:12, 4 October 2014 (UTC)
Will be quite easy for me, since I'm already doing this for my eventual contribution to the Wiki's magazine! - EternalNothingnessXIII 05:13, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

Firstly, is that two week time limit to explain your ideas reasonable? Secondly, how will this work with the Keyhole?
ANX219 ...dango daikazoku~ — 19:57, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
I would go with a month instead of two weeks. Have an admin make this a sticky thread. We can probably have two teams, one for each wiki and for whatever the event is, whichever wiki team can rack up the most points gets a prize! Don't downgrade your idea...I like it...
TheFifteenthMemberIgnoring how these caterpillars uttered what they're trying to say, I do agree.— TheFifteenthMember 20:00, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
How does until September sound? The idea between both Wikis can work depending on what event we choose.
